  1. Pay no attention to the shape, that's irrelevant...I couldn't figure out how to do much else with MS Paint...lol. What shape would you make it?
  2. Okay, I have some unused land that basically just has a bunch of overgrowth on it. My dream is to make my own little bass pond on it, stock it with Largie's, maybe some Perch or Blue Gill and some crayfish and frogs as food. I know there are some people around here who build ponds for a living...not sure even remotely how much they'd charge or if it would be feasible or not.You can see below the rough (and I mean rough...I am not a savant with MS Paint by any means) sketch I made. I would add a simple wooden dock, the land definitely has some rocks in it so I would have them piled on that one side, the overhanging trees are already on the property as well as the downed tree...would have have to add the pond lily's but I can find those anywhere around the local ponds. Let's assume that the pond making guy doesn't charge and arm and a leg and my first born child...what other difficulties can you see me running into to? Any ideas on workarounds? It's nice to dream!!!
  3. Whopper Plopper in the Monkey Butt color . https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/River2Sea_Whopper_Plopper/descpage-R2SWP13.html?from=basres
  4. I have yet to catch anything on my 130's. Granted I've only fished the Loon 130 couple of times but still, nothing...not even a bite. We were actually almost skunked last night with the 90's too but at least we had a couple of blow-up misses and my wife did catch one dink about the size of the lure itself...lol. I'm hoping the 130's will produce some day soon but right now it's been the 90's that are what the fish want. I would really like to get two more, Rainbow Trout and Blue Gill to round out my 90's.
  5. Yup, just heard on the weather this morning that tomorrow night there could be some patchy frost in the colder pockets .
  6. I tried some of the Strongbow hard cider and it's really quite good so if any of you are hard cider lovers like myself i would recommend you give Strongbow a try...cheers!!!
  7. Yeah, still getting used to/practicing with/gaining confidence in my bait cats setup. Hopefully soon I'll be fishing the larger line diameters with that but right now I want to go with what I'm comfortable so i can catch some fish :D.
  8. Anyone can have 1 good game. If the Panthers didn't get called for a penalty and that late made FG counted we wouldn't even be having this conversation and everyone would be lamenting the demise of the Broncos.
  9. The Bronco's win was a fluke! Anyone who thinks Siemian can keep it up all season long is delusional. They still have a very good defense and that'll win them about 8 games and the offense will probably contribute enough for another couple of wins and that's where i have them pegged at this season, 10 - 6. I truly believe that the Raiders have the talent in place to eek out the division at 11 - 5. It'll be a three team race all season between the Raiders, Broncos and Chiefs but I think the Raiders take the division by a game and the Broncos and Chiefs each finish at 10 -6 with the Chiefs owning the tie-breaker.
  10. I know tomorrow night up here in Vermont where I live it could get down into the upper 30's for lows...Fall is definitely on it's way (time to clean out the pellet stove...lol)! I see the extended forecast shows a few days next week that might not get out of the 60's for highs...my second favorite time of the year (Winter is my fav), Fall will definitely be here soon .
  11. I have a Daiwa Exceler 4000 reel with Sufix Superior 15lb. mono on it and last night when I was fishing with it I kept hearing a sound like something was hitting somewhere and as I watched it the only thing I could see making contact somewhere was the line where it goes through the first guide, when I retrieve it the line spins around and hits the sides of that first guide...is this normal?
  12. The stock hooks are size 4 which is the same size as the replacement hooks I bought.
  13. From what everybody has told me Fall for bass season is when the water temps get down into the low 60's and 50's. As for bait/lures most people have said jerk baits, hollow body frogs and bigger top water lures as the bass will be coming closer to shore to feed on the shad before heading out into the deeper parts of the lakes/ponds for winter so if they see what they think is going to be a big meal they're more apt to hit that. I'm sure others will chime in that know much better than I but from my basic knowledge base that's what I know or have been told.
  14. Okay, I just got a couple of the Heddon Baby Torpedo's and everyone says to replace the hooks immediately because they're junk so i bought some of the red Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp 3X treble hooks size 4 to replace them, I also decided to add split rings instead of use that stock setup they come with. I went with some Eagle Claw size 4 split rings...are these the proper size/strength to go with the size 4 hooks? I didn't have much of a choice at Walmart as they only had two sizes of split rings in stock, size 4 and size 3 and I figured size 3 was to small and flimsy looking so i went with the size 4.
  15. I throw mine on 30lb braid spinning set up with an Eagle Claw dual lock snap/clip. i tie a double Palomar knot from line to snap/clip and than just clip it on the eyelet on the front of the plopper and you're good to go. I also throw mine on a 15lb mono spinning set up again with the dual lock snap/clip and we haven't lost one yet (knocks on wood)!
  16. I'm looking for the best family camping tent under $200. My wife prefers a cabin-style tent over a dome-style but the biggest factor we want is room...want a tent that you can easily stand up in without having to stoop over. We have a double high queen size air mattress and our current 5 person tent is just too small as with the mattress filled in takes up just about the entire area so I'm thinking at least a 6 person tent is needed if we want room to move with all of our clothing bags etc. inside. I also want the tent as waterproof as possible and it needs to be able to breathe really well as we don't like heavy condensation that dampens everything inside. Any opinions and or info on tents would be greatly appreciated!!!
  17. I took your advice here and just picked up a couple of Baby Torpedo's, one in Black Shore Minnow and the other white with red head. I was wavering between the Tiny and the Baby and opted for the bigger lure but am second guessing myself now as when i go to YouTube to watch videos of these almost everything is about the Tiny and not the Baby...did i make the wrong choice in sizes?
  18. Not to thread jack here but I couldn't find any of the Owner or Mustad hooks at Wal-Mart and instead got some of the size 4 Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp 3x red hooks...will these be an upgrade over the stock hooks?
  19. We caught 3 more last night on the 90 Perch...2.5lb., 3lb. and 3.5lb.
  20. wouldn't a whopper plopper and a pompadour be considered prop baits? I mean they both have pieces on them that spin like a prop.
  21. Keep at it, my wife just caught her PB, a 4lb.-er last week with it and than I caught another 2lb.-er with it soon after. It WILL produce!!!
  22. Yup, have some of these already...Bone and Loon in the 130 and Perch and Blue Blood in the 90. They're awesome!!! I have a black/blue colored and a white/chartreuse colored Booyah buzz bait. They are being used on a spinning setup and I've had a hard time keeping them on top of the water, not sure if my reel just isn't fast enough (6.2:1 gear ratio) or maybe I'm holding my rod wrong? Whichever is the case they seem to run just under the surface of the water but not on top where they should be.
  23. You won't regret it...it's a VERY fun lure to fish with, very versatile as in you can chug it like a popper, do a steady slow retrieve or horse it back in creating a TON of commotion. Have fun with it :).
  24. I actually don't have a spook yet so I don't have a silent or rattling version yet. I do have a couple of Lucky Craft Sammy 100's that I recently got but haven't had a chance to fish yet but these will be my first ever spooks that I buy when I buy them.
  25. I'm not fishing saltwater though.
