Tackle Shops in Tokyo Japan
My family and I are going on a vacation to the Philippines in late September and one of our layovers is in Tokyo, Japan for 20 hours. I figured since I love some JDM reels and tackle (a 7ft.+ rod would probably cost a fortune to add to my luggage plus the chances of it getting broken in the plane and airport would probably be extremely high…lol) I was thinking I’d check out some tackle shops that aren’t too far away from the airport. I would think it would also be significantly cheaper in Japan then here in the U.S., is that the case? Can anyone who’s travelled to Tokyo inform me of where the best bass fishing tackle shops are and is it much cheaper to buy the JDM tackle in Japan? @Glenn do you have any recommendations our know of anyone who would?

Waveinn
After doing some more in depth research they are part of the TradeInn family and have headquarters in Spain.

Waveinn
Has anyone ever heard of WaveInn? Have you purchased from them? How was the experience? They appear to be a tackle company in the UK but I wanted to make sure they are legit first before placing any orders.

Those SLX rods are probably one of the best $100 rods out there today and at $54 they are absolute steals IMO. As far as reels go, for the baitcaster I'd honestly get a Shimano SLX reel...those reels are phenomenal at the $100 price point, quality reels (typical Shimano) and you can't go wrong. As for the spinning reels...many choices there, Daiwa Regal, Daiwa Legalis, Shimano Sedona, Shimano Sahara FJ and another one that I just recently read good reviews about and I believe is on sale in various places is the 13 Fishing Kalon Blackout. If you want a purely black reel to match basically anything that would be a good choice too!

Keep getting snagged in rocks
You have a few options. First, if you really like fishing a Texas rigged bait I would opt for a screw lock weighted EWG hook. That way it's still weighted so you can cast farther and it will sink to the bottom but it'll be weedless and won't get snagged in rocks nearly as much. The next option would be to use a wobble head jig head which is basically a football jig head with a circular ring on the back that you attach an EWG hook to (you can get some pre-attached). The next way I'd fish that is a Tokyo rig

That's a great deal on one of the best rods in the $100 price range IMO.

13 Fishing Defy Black Crankbait Rod
Which size would be more versatile? I have a 7' medium Abu Garcia and a 7'6" medium heavy Lews but I would like to consolidate my crankbait rods into 1 and I would also like a composite rod (glass/graphite blend).

13 Fishing Defy Black Crankbait Rod
Yeah, they sound good, just wondering if I should get the 7' version or the bigger 7'4" version. Like I said, this will be used for reaction baits, crank baits in the 1.5 to 2.5 size mostly, jerk baits, the one bigger medium diver I'd use it for would be the DD Tactical crank which weighs 3/4oz.

Nobody has info on this rod? If you have any experience with this rod I sure would appreciate your input .

13 Fishing Defy Black Crankbait Rod
I'm looking for a new, inexpensive, composite crankbait rod. I'm zeroing in on this rod as it seems to check all the categories and everyone raves about it on Tackle Warehouse reviews. My question is, would you get the 7' model with a lure rate of 1/2oz. - 1oz. OR would you go with the 7'4" model with a lure rating of 1/2oz. - 1-1/2oz.? I do mostly shallow to medium depth crankbait fishing (I have some deep cranks but don't think I'll be using them much as I'm trying to sell my boat so I'll be back to bank fishing until finances improve enough to get another boat). Any thoughts/opinions...especially from people who have either of these model rods would be greatly appreciated!!!

Siebert Outdoors
Your customer service is top notch Mike, I've always enjoyed ordering from you because of this. You can sell the best product ever but if you have lousy customer service people will look elsewhere, customer service is and always will be the #1 earmark of a good company...oh, and your products are great quality too

Shimano World Pop
I definitely want to pick up a couple!!! I love top water fishing and leave it to Shimano to come out with a (I hate to use this phrase because it's so over-used but here I go) game changer lure. Everything I've read about this Flash Boost people seem to rave about it, the true test will be if it really IS something different that gives you even the slightest of edges then there will be about 12 different copy-cat baits with something similar next season .

ICAST 2022 Favorite New Lures ?
I really like the looks of the Gamakatsu Hybrid Swinging Jig Head...https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Tungsten_Hybrid_Swing_Head_4pk/descpage-GTWH.html. I also like the looks of the Berkley Slobberknocker and Power Stinger trailer combo The HellRaizer looks very interesting plus I'm a sucker for anything top water (yes, I want one of those R2S Tactical Wake's SOOOOOO Bad but man, I can't see myself spending $75 on a single bait). Netbait/Bait Fuel infused soft plastics look really good. I've got some Bait Fuel but haven't used it yet and if these baits come with it already impregnated into the plastic and it saves me the trouble of marinating the baits for just .50 more per pack that's probably the way to go!

Swimming plastics on top..

MattLures Ultimate Bluegill series
It depends on if you're going to stick with 2oz. and under swim baits or if 2oz. is a starting point and you want the flexibility to throw up to 6oz. lures someday. If you're happy at 2oz. I would recommend the Dobyns Fury 795SB 7'9" MH/F which is good for swim baits 1 - 5oz. with a sweet spot at right around 3oz. If you want the flexibility to throw heavier baits in the future I'd go with the Dobyns Fury 806HSB 8' H/F which is good for swim baits 2 - 8oz. with a sweet spot of around 5-6oz. Both of these rods are under $150...around $130 - $140 I believe.

Gavacho, I love /hate this thing
But if you do this there goes the weedlessness of the frog. If it's being fished in strictly open water it would be a great addition but in any type of weeds or pads it'll snag constantly.

Colors for Deep Divers
I’m using a Lews David Fritts Perfect crankin’ rod, 7’6” MH/M.

Colors for Deep Divers
I was actually speaking about the chrome color specifically…just wondered if it would flash that far down or I should just stick to shad and ghost style colors?
-
Colors for Deep Divers
I was looking at getting some 6XD's on sale and automatically added a chrome color for flash but then I got to thinking...how far down does light really penetrate in the water...even in clear water? These deep divers are going down 19ft., would there even be enough light down there to make a chrome bait flash?

Frogs to Increase Hookups > Land Ratio
The new Scum Launch Frog would be a good choice. I also like the River2Sea Bully Wa 2. I've also got some of the 6th Sense Vega frogs to try this year.
