  1. Check out www.sclakes.com they usually have up to date info on all the lakes in SC.
  2. I have two of them(30 and 35) and love them both. Have never in 2 years had a problem with them. As for dropshotting the 30 series is perfect. The 35 starts to be almost too big but I have big hands so it works out.
  3. Have both, and it is Patriarch all the way. To me a much more "Solid" feeling reel. The summit feels like it was made to fish finesse lures and seems to really excell at small jerkbaits and shakey heads, while the Patriarch is just good all around.
  4. Does anyone have a list of the stores that are closing?
  5. I love the little guys, I used to work at a Scout camp where I was the "Snake guy". As long as you dont antagonize or hurt them they wont try to bite you.
  6. Gotta go with the PJ's Jigs -Wide gap hook -All direction rattle -Stand up jighead
  7. The FOM tournament this past weekend was won fishing a jig (big suprise there) in about 21-25 ft of water in the Bear Creek area of the Lake. So in guessing that they are still in a pre-spawn pattern, especially due to this little cold snap this week. However they should start moving up to spawn here in a week or so, so start looking out for them in the lower lake.
  8. I have the opportunity to get a 6'7"M spinning gold carrot at cost. And unluckily/luckily (depending on how you see it) my current shakey head rod broke this past weekend. I was wondering if anyone who has the spinning carrot can tell me about the action. Does it lean more towards parabolic or fast, and would you reccomend it for 1/8-1/4oz jigheads from 5-20ft of water? Or should I just save some money and get the origional carrot LTX?
  9. x3 on the Supreme Have had 2 of them for 2yrs and love them.
  10. Its just getting rediculous nowadays, just google "Stella awards" :o http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2009/01/2009-stella-awards.html http://www.infoniac.com/offbeat-news/stella-awards-reveals-most-shocking-us-lawsuits.html
  11. I think everyone is thinking it so I'll go How about a split grip BCR 854 GLX Loomis
  12. Yea, they are legit. I have ordered a few rods and reels from them, and they have excellent service, and some pretty good deals too.
  13. Check out www.sclakes.com they usually have some pretty good info on all the lakes in SC and some in NC and GA
  14. I've got a couple bags myself and I love them, the only problem is what you said with them not going on jigheads very well, but that can be fixed with a little super glue
  15. I've seen a 5+lbr come out of Lake Monticello here in SC and there are a few weighed in from Murray a couple times a year. And I think 1 or 2 years ago they pulled one out of Santee Cooper
  16. I'm all for the big bait big fish theory but Josh Upton's Custom This isn't your standard dropshot fare sports fans. Josh Upton's Customs features big baits for big fish. These hand poured worms come in both ribbon tail & straight tail versions available from 8 to 19 inches, these baits fall into the big bait, big fish category. Popular on southern California lakes such as Diamond Valley, these big boys will produce trophy fish anywhere big bass live. Don't be intimidated either, most bites come from fish in the 2-6 pound range. When you do put one in front of a trophy fish, the combination of a bulky, slow moving meal often proves too easy an opportunity for big fish to pass up. Just goes to show that you don't have to throw a swimbait to tempt the big girls.
  17. With a price tag of 299, I'd just as soon get another Metanium/Core they can be had almost everywhere for around that price, but hey whatever floats your boat.
  18. I've got a Carrot Flippin Stick that for me is working out pretty well so far, its light, senstive, and relatively cheap. I put my Metanium Mg on it and the combo came out to 11oz. I'm taking it to Okeechobee next month so that will be the true test, but like I said so far its a great rod.
  19. I've been looking for a new rod to get with my christmas money. I'm lookin for a rod to mainly throw football jigs, carolina rigs, and do some light flipping with. So, i've narrowed it down to a rod that is about 7'1" to 7'3" and MH or H. A rod with a light tip, good backbone, and excellent sensitivity for detecting hits at the end of long casts. There are five that I've started looking at are All Star ASR 7'2" MH Kistler Argon 7'2" MH Loomis Mossyback 7'2" H Cumara 7'2" MH Carrot Stix 7'3" MH I'm looking at a price range of up to $225 ish and those are what I've found, and I'd like to know if anyone has them and if they have any input on them
  20. That was a review for a reel??? I've lookes like ten times and still cant see one!!
  21. Winter is always fun in general cause they stack up on the points. If you can find some main lake points in about 30-35ft of water, they will eat up a dropshot and football jigs.(I would say some specific points, but I need them for tournaments soming up.) I will say that the water treatment plant in the lower end has some great spots around it. If there was one thing I would concentrate on it would be slowing down and making your lures look as realistic as possible, cause a lot of people fish Murray so I try to make my lures look just a little better than the next guy.
  22. I fished it before I moved to Myrtle Beach, but I'm coming back for about a month and going to be fishing it this winter.
  23. At a tournament on Lake Murray last January, I got spanked by the guy in the front of the boat who was throwing one of the DT Flats. I was throwing a black silver DT 6 and he was throwing a black silver DT 7 Flat and he was catching them 4 to my 1. I learned my lesson and went out and bought a few myself. ;D
  24. Whats weird is that the 2009 catalog has the president xt being black, with a 35 size. Its alright for me cause I like the supremes, but what I really want to know is when the president rods come out.
  25. If you live near 378 and HWY 1 you should definately check in Dooley's sport shop. Heres a map to it. http://www.dooleyssportshopinc.com/dooleymappage.htm Talk to some of the guys in there, they know most of the bass clubs in the area. Or if you can look up the St. Andrews Bass Club, I used to be a member untill I moved.
