Hey, for those of you who have had experience w/ multiple baitcasters...
I have the Pflueger Supreme, Summit, and Trion. And will say that the Summit is the best one out of the three for what you say. The Summit IMHO is just perfect for 10lb test line, although it is a little small for my hands, and can cast light lures forever. The Supreme IMO is built to be an excellent all around reel, and is a little bigger than the Summit. The Trion is a good solid baitcaster, but at 9 ounces, it just seems a little too big and overweight. I use it for big carolina rigs and such. As for casting distance, the Supreme and Summit are about the same followed closely by the Trion

Pinnacle Reels
I was extremely close to buying a vision for christmas. I like the look of the spool and the swept handle, but out of personal preferance I dont like the centrifugal brake systems by themselves. But if you want one www.all-americanoutdoors.com has them for 100 bucks, which is 45 bucks below the MSRP of 145$. I trust them and have ordered rods and reels from them, and they all have come NIB.

Questions about an old reel
Wow they made things simple back then, just two gears I dont think many people around here will work on a Pflueger, but there should be someone aroung here who knows what they are doing.

Reaction innovations
If I remember right they were the origionators of the beaver style of baits that lots of people say are better than tubes at flipping. But yes they are a rather large company and they make some pretty good stuff.

NEED TACKLE ADVICE
Buck- Just wait till spawning season. I dont even tell the guys in my club about the crawbug during the spawn, I dont even rig one until we get where we are going. It is one of my most closely guarded secrets.

Anyone using P-Line CX Premium Moss Green???
When you dropshot, line twist is a part of life, but it rarely, if ever jumps off the spool or twists during the cast. I have used it for the past 2 years, and through 10 tournaments I have not changed it yet. As for the baitcaster I think that there is actually P-line Fluroclear on it.

NEED TACKLE ADVICE
Well everyone else has pretty much covered everything except 2 -YUM Crawfish 3.25in Green Pumpkin - I have been in a boat that was less than 5 ft from a bass, and still had it bite this. It is the ultimate in realism with a life size body. - Strike King Denny Bauer Jigs

Anyone using P-Line CX Premium Moss Green???
I have 6lb for my dropshot rod and it holds to abrasion amazingly well, I used it and threw it in everything that you can imagine, from 35ft deep trees in lake Russell to fishing the lilly pads in ponds, and have only broken 1 or 2 fish in all my using it for 2 years. I also use 15lb(clear) for my jig rod, and the last time I used it I threw it in deep trees for about 2 hours without so much as a nick on the line.

Shallow crankin reel?
6.3:1 should be fine, you just have to pay attention. It is easy to get stuck in a rut of retrieving all lures at the same pace. As long as you are paying attention can slow down or speed up depending on whatever lure you choose. As for the reel, Pfluegers have been excellent to me for years Baitcasters Patriarch (6.3:1): 180 Supreme (6.3:1): 140-160 Trion (5.?-1, 6.3:1): 100

Man made Cover
Mostly christmas trees, tree tops, and sometimes rocks. Although rock is mostly better for shallow water, because it is easier to place there. In the pond that I fish, I can go to the christmas trees and catch fish every single time no problem, but it all depends on placement of the brush. If you place trees on the ends or middle of points the fish will probably move into it, but if you dont put it where the fish already are then you might as well have not put it there. In other words I use brush to position fish to be easier to find, instead of fish being scattered throughout the end of a point, the brushpile would draw them to a more concentrated area.

SC Smallmouth
And a months ago during our club tourny at Monticello one of the people brought in a 5.65lb Smallie, which made me want to finally catch one.

One year old Daiwa making odd noise
Those mitchell 300 sure are something right. Those things are built to last eons. I had one of my reels start doing that a few months ago and when I took it apart I found that a few of the gear teeth had broken off. If you are comfortable with it then take off the reels sideplate and look to see if there is anything wrong, other than that I would not start taking things out unless you really know what you are doing. As for adding oil and grease Reelmech would probably be better at telling you what to do.

What makes a good fishing partner?
Someone who knows where all the fish are, but does not know how to catch them. ;D But seriously, soneone who is easy to get along with and funny is MUCH easier to fish with than people who are not. Oh and someone who has patience. Ive taught classes on fishing to groups of 10-20 twelve year olds, and my god they have about 0 patience whatsoever, save a few of them

best pick for drop shoting?
I cant believe that I'm letting this out but the best thing that I have ever found for dropshots and not to mention shakey heads are the Roboworms in Margarita Mutilator III color. I go through 5-6 bags of these each month because they catch so many fish.

Question About State Records
Basically yes, but in order to do so look at all of the paperwork involved and you will probably figure out why there is no record. I have the same thing in my state where over half the records are empty.
