  1. I can't say I'm that fortunate. I've had two or three bags where the worms become stuck together to the point they are garbage. Maybe it's the sunlight, maybe I bought them from a store that didn't handle them properly before I bought them.
  2. I keep mine in the garage fridge.
  3. Purple Mann's Jelly worm on a Tru-Turn hook. I've had a thing for Mann's stuff ever since.
  4. I still have my 10'. Caught my PB in it, too.
  5. Probably a canoe or Jon boat with oars.
  6. Colombia PFG shirts and Huk are on sale on their company websites. Also just found out that Huk has a teacher discount!
  7. If you're using lead, the cylindrical ones can be quickly trimmed if you want a lighter weight.
  8. Very important point here, fish do take these on the fall. I rarely see that mentioned on Ned rig threads.
  9. Just over 30' of very clear water.
  10. Good information in this post. One addition, especially if you are using braid, move your finger off the line when you set the hook. Braid burns are not fun.
  11. Am I the only Yucatán knot user here? I switched over because I actually can tie this one without a microscope. Getting older is a pain.
  12. Sounds like a hot, dry New Hampshire. When I got my concealed carry permit years ago my police chief (who had to run the paperwork) told me that one third of the households in my town have that same permit. Knowing people around here, that tells me that at least half the remaining households never bothered with the permit and are heavily armed anyway.
  13. Another vote for an experience over material items. Lots of good suggestions here.
  14. Boat ramp and on the water etiquette are tops for me.
  15. I've never ridden in a boat with a 9.9, but I've ridden in lots of boats with 9.9 stickers on the motor!
  16. Of all time, Silver Thread. Of what's still out there, McCoy mean green.
  17. Another vote for PhishLI's recommendation. That carbon fire is a heck of a rod for fifty bucks. I have a couple of them, one for frogs, one for swimbaits, (and a few of the spinning rods too) that I bought two years ago for $39.99. Mine has a Silver Max reel that I got at Cabela's using rewards points. I don't throw frogs a ton- just in the pads for largemouth in our milfoil choked ponds. To me, the rod doesn't have to be super sensitive and the reel just needs to have a good drag.
  18. Yucatán is the one I tie best. I've had limited success tying FG knots, and I readily admit that it's all my fault!
  19. I'm beyond impressed with my Bass X 7'1" MH/F, I'm sure the legend or Mojo would be even better.
  20. Mud Bugs and Mann's Auger tail worms.
  21. It's undoubtedly the WB-400S. I've since fixed the problem, but I was sitting on 20 or so with flashing that needed help.
  22. Take a look at the St Croix Bass X 7'1" MH fast action. I think it's a versatile rod that doesn't get talked about nearly as much as it should.
  23. Thank you neighbor. That bismuth really expands fast, mold release spray is a must- especially when I'm pouring tiny Ned jigs. My father showed me a trick to get flashing out of hook eyes yesterday. I had tried finish nails, screwdrivers, and side cuts to no avail. His soldering iron took care of it perfectly leaving no sharp edges.
  24. It's probably snowing on the Quabbin right now! I know it is at my house just north of Royalston. This was supposed to be my year to try the Quabbin for the first time, too... Great looking jig, how does pewter pour? I've poured a lot of bismuth, but after I'm out I may look at other options.
  25. I have two of the 7'3" heavy, they're a really nice rod- especially for 39.99. Generally if you hit the 50 dollar mark you can get free shipping. Pick up a spool of braid and you're there.
