  1. What's your channel called? I'm next door in NH, I'll watch.
  2. Spend your money on the injector, don't go cheap. I have the Basstackle, and if I wanted out of pouring I could get my money back in less than a week. The high end stuff barely depreciates. Also get a nice respirator, and make sure you have ventilation. The rest is up for debate, some guys use a microwave, others a presto pot... Some guys like Dead on Plastic, others prefer other brands. I use both ways to heat plastic and primarily pour remelts from guys who pour for profit. I don't sell stuff, I keep my fishing buddies stocked and I donate bags of baits to local high school teams.
  3. Live free or Ned. If the lake allows (not all grass) I will also throw a squarebill or wart and just try to let the fish tell me what they want.
  4. All the plastic I pour gets a few drops of Dead On Craw. It may be a placebo, but I figure if it masks my smell it's probably worth it.
  5. My 95 F350 is like this, the rest of my fleet is power. I also really like the vent windows, those are fantastic.
  6. I'm a teacher and athletic director. Some of my students are remote, while most are not. It's going to be a challenging year, but significantly better than last spring because we are prepared to deal with it. I would love to go back to the way things used to be, I miss seeing my students.
  7. At the risk of getting political, it's probably because there were few if any English speakers who applied or showed up to work.
  8. Thank you sir. 4 lbs 1 oz, a very dense fish. I was out of answers when I caught it, just throwing a crankbait to cover water...
  9. This guy gave the Brat his seal of approval.
  10. I restore and use 1970s Simplicity garden tractors. I probably have 10 or 11 of them, my father has another 10 or so. Anyway, they take a 51R battery, which is common in a lot of Accords and Civics-its a big battery for a tractor. Recently at AutoZone there was a 51R on the clearance rack for 50 bucks. Before I lugged it across the store I asked the kid behind the counter if it was really on sale. He didn't even answer me.He asked me what it was going into, I told him my 45 year old garden tractor. He said "I don't know why you're even asking about it, it's not a tractor battery." I silently counted to three and left the store.
  11. I buy the majority of my stuff on eBay/ Facebook groups and the shipping wait is usually a week at the most. Lots of mom and pops on there, and absolutely none in my area, so it's nice to help small businesses and never have to leave the house. Their eagerness to get good reviews is refreshing too. Top notch customer service. As for the whole industry, I think it may be pretty similar to most years, just less for the clearance rack at year's end.
  12. Sure did, I remember my first Abu Royal Express 6.3! It was a burner. To me the best thing fast reels do is to get my bait back faster so that I can cast again.
  13. It was on country radio in the 80s, it's country to me.
  14. That area extends all the way north to where I'm from in southeastern Ohio. I had miner's strawberries about once a week growing up.
  15. Patty Loveless' Mountain Soul is a must have album. It inspired me to make soup beans and cornbread last night. Even my Yankee girlfriend liked it.
  16. Tightlining mostly, but I don't ever have 100 yards of line out. I just don't like to be that close to the spool's end. Also, super light reels don't appeal to me, I've been doing this since the early 80s and everything today is light compared to what I learned on.
  17. I still throw them, and use a wire leader because pike and pickerel love the things.
  18. I'd stay deep because I fish deep water that's clear so long casts with a lot of line out is a good thing.
  19. I use backing on all of my reels so this isn't an issue for me. I also use braid and flip it after 2 years so cost isn't an issue either.
  20. According to my girlfriend, George Jones and Jim Beam make my accent come back. https://youtu.be/xL_UL8ts1XA
  21. I still throw bitsy bugs, even though I pour jigs, for the price I just buy these. (lost all my inventory in a fire three years back and I had a ton of little Arkys that served the same purpose) I still use larger bullet jigs for other applications, but in clear water with not too much vegetation these are the ticket. I throw them on medium spinning tackle, 20 lb braid to 14 lb copolymer leader.
  22. If you take care of it, two to three years of heavy use is pretty standard before they get noisy. I have some Silver Max reels and they are good, but once you use something nicer it's hard to go back. I don't think they are hard to dial in at all, but I've been throwing a baitcaster since about 1988.
  23. They'll most likely be fine. I live in New Hampshire and I store my plastics in an unheated garage with no issues. As for your new boat, I'd be most concerned about mice. Dryer sheets are my favorite way to keep them out.
  24. I just did a web search, the CF speed stick that came up is the new version with a lot more red. The ones that I have and love are just CF. They're probably similar or even the same with different cosmetics. Either way, Dick's still has the old Carbon Fires on their site for 49.99. I have four, and they are all light and sensitive. The 7'3" H/F is a really good frog rod, also good for punching in the grass. The spinning rods are also good, they don't fish like 40 dollar rods- which is what I paid for them. I also really like the Winn grips. I have a bunch of other rods, most cost way more than these, but for 40-50 dollars they're a great way to build your arsenal.
  25. I really enjoy my Bass X, and I also use the MH/F for jigs and Texas rigs. There are lighter rods, but for the price I think it's pretty darn good. I also have been throwing a baitcaster for 30 years, so slightly heavier rods are familiar to me.
