Polarized glasses
I wear Oakley because they were the only large framed polarized I could find and more importantly try on. They're Oakley Tens, which have long since been discontinued. I can't complain, they've been good glasses for ten years and I wear them daily.

SLX Line for tournaments
Casitas is a fine reel, what don't you like about it? I'm one of the few guys on here who doesn't care for his SLX. It has a geary whine that my nearly 80 year old father heard from the back of the boat.

Do you lock your boat trailer in the lot?
I run a padlock through the coupler and put a tack weld on the trailer ball so it can't be taken off.

southern nh ramps
I'm on my third copy since 1986. It's a must have.

Black trick worms
I end up pouring a ton of black baits. When I remelt my odds and ends I add black colorant. Those black baits (from finesse worms to creatures) are some of the best fish catchers I make.

Do you categorize your PB’s?
I disqualify my PB's caught on a tip up while ice fishing. All others I acknowledge. I am prouder of my my 6lb 2oz smallmouth from NH than my 6 lb 5oz on Lake Erie.

Top 3 baits you're going to open ice out with?

Switching to mono
I saw him speak at a Bassmaster University event in 2002 or so. He was asked what line he used for jigs. He said "It's this new stuff they just came out with" and guys started writing feverishly "20 pound Stren in the purple box." Nice guy.

do I need to buy leader
I use mono and copolymer for leader (and FC too). I would try mono first to see if you like it before dropping $$$ on 100% FC.

Cable TV
Look into YouTube TV. For 65 a month I get all local channels and everything else I used to pay 130 a month for on Directv. It's all HD, unlimited DVR space and all you need is a Roku or Amazon steaming stick for your TV. I'm a huge college football fan and I didn't miss a single game last year- they were all included.

Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
Both grampaw's left elementary school to dig coal, so you could say that I do have coal dust in my lungs. Prices are obnoxiously high in TN right now, that's for sure. I'd still be keeping my modest NH home for the summer and early fall. We grew up picking on Kentucky and West Virginia, but they both are good options. Just have to get the Yankee Mrs to stop trying to do the accent!

Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
I've been eyeing property in your neck of the woods. I have to get back to Appalachia, it's home.

Smallmouth at ice out...
I use three main lures at ice out, and usually there's still some ice left on the lake. Jerkbaits worked way too slowly, a football jig with a creature bait, and a hula grub. Wind and sun are really helpful to making jerkbait fish turn on.

What scents do you for putting on your plastics and jigs?
On a very hot day I got a face full of it from my buddy's backcast. It was revolting, but he swears by the stuff!
-
What is your favorite?
In cold water, pork. Otherwise a twin tail or hula grub.

Classic baits you've never thrown...
Same here. Got one as a gift and can't put down my customized Torpedoes to throw it.

I have a bait buying problem.
It's barely noticeable, like a light worm oil.

I have a bait buying problem.
I grind everything at once, and store it in big ziploc bags. Any oddball colors get turned into black worms, which have probably accounted for more fish than all of my other creations combined. I use a grinder that mounts on my Kitchen Aid mixer, btw.

I have a bait buying problem.
You can definitely feel the grinder start to struggle, and when it does just add a few drops of new plastic.
-
I have a bait buying problem.
Not my idea, but a good one. The uniform grinds melt more evenly too.

I have a bait buying problem.
That's what I did, easjly 40 pounds worth. I recommend getting an electric meat grinder rather than cutting it all up with scissors. Just add a little new plastic in the grinder to lubricate everything, or it gets hard on the grinder.

What’s the last rod/reel you purchased that you ended up regretting?
My SLX reel. It has a whirring gear noise and I didn't even use it last season.

Coffee - Whats your brand and how do you drink it?
Local company called Dean's Beans has a few different dark roasts that I enjoy. We have them ship a 5 pound bag to our door and they roast it the day it's ordered. I also like Black Rifle, because like Dean's I enjoy giving them my money. I either use a percolator or French press, no filters here.

Body wash or soap
It was an excellent safeguard against itching.

Body wash or soap
I have eczema, my dermatologist told me Dial gold is all I should use. Accidentally bought a case on Amazon and I'm still 30 bars away from needing more!
