  1. We are projected to get 4-8" here. When I walked out back after lunch (working remotely all week) I saw a bunch of birds, three huge squirrels and they were all eating. They know the snow's coming.

I held off once they were discontinued. Now I pour these.

I'm sitting on about 50 Guido bugs and am seriously considering having a custom mold made. There's just something about them.
  4. Good advice. OP, if you're stuck around 100 dollars, there's way more bang for your buck going used. I have two Fuegos and an SLX, and while I prefer the Daiwas, neither is the reel it was when I bought them.
  5. Whenever I cant find something, I clean. (And cuss and stomp around so I'm told)
  6. I have a turkey ready to go on at 5AM. Just the standard Weber kettle grill and the snake method with a chunk of apple wood.
  7. A couple of storm suspend strips on a Rapala and you'll have what you're looking for.
  8. I'm a high school teacher, and 5 am from mid June through August is the highlight of my year.
  9. I use a ML and 6lb test for smallmouth. I've used that rod for Neds, 4" Senkos, and 2" grubs for crappies and perch. It's also my favorite rod for smaller jerkbaits like an HJ 8 Rapala.
  10. A mess of crappies would make a nice dinner on a college football Saturday.
  11. Wish my Springer would flush them too!
  12. I got about 4 to 5 years out of mine and it had some mileage on it. They're a great budget reel.
  13. I burnt all of my Cabela's card points on a silver max and it was a nice reel for zero money. Now it belongs to my 11 year old nephew, and thinks it's the greatest thing ever.
  14. The Norman Fat Boy is a great 5-6 dollar squarebill. I like the Rapalas, Bagleys, and Bombers too, but nothing I have used is quite like the Fat Boy.
  15. Great post, thank you. Just picked up a couple of crank banks at Dick's and some split rings/trebles. Free shipping over 49.
  16. I had some good ones when I went to Quebec City a few years back too. I originally used the line about croissants when a local here in NH told me I was foolish for throwing a jig and pig because the pond I was fishing had no crawdads. (he said crayfish)
  17. Same here. I've never been to France but I know that croissants are delicious.
  18. I've eaten bass before, but only when it's gut hooked and won't survive. When I want a meal I fish for crappies and yellow perch, or maybe head to the CT river for some big bluegills. I also icefish primarily for perch, since they are delicious and there's always a chance for a nice bass on ultra light equipment. Here's my favorite way to eat them: perch tacos
  19. So technically you have a late model four stroke on there.
  20. Who tuned your Royal Express? I have one that I bought new that needs help.
  21. I'm one town over from Rindge, Pearly is a good spot. Poole is less than 2 miles away too. Both are fairly shallow largemouth ponds with no boat traffic.
  22. Really nice work
  23. I still have a few pistol grip 5'6" rods, most notably two 1970s Lew's speed sticks. They're great for easily fitting in the trunk of my car so I can make a few casts on my way home from work.
  24. It's all those Ohio boys UK recruits.
