I think I have at least 6 of these TD-X,and three or four TD-S. They are just fantastic reels. I agree with you 100%! The TD -Z is worth trying too, love my Zillions and the 105 for throwing Bandit 200s. I really doubt I will ever get a reel newer than 2010.

There's a few things I just can't say no to- TDX and TDZ reels at reasonable prices, and the Fuji Lews rods from the 70s. And Bandit 200s. And mud bugs. Oh, and Collins jig molds. So unlike you guys, I don't have a problem at all.

It all goes in an old coffee can with a lid. The soft plastics I just save and remelt.

I think it will treat you well. It's a nimble winch of a reel.

I still have Mud Bugs and 1 minus in my rotation. I also have a habit of buying them way too often. And I don't know anyone else who throws them. I also love Heddon Baby Torpedos. Smallmouth love them too.

Same here. Sadly nobody in the New England region serves decent tea.

I don't think there's been a bad suggestion yet (maybe mine is!) I'll say what I generally do-go used. Green Curado CU 200s are great reels for less than 75 dollars-I've seen them for 50-that even a 14 year old can't kill.

Finally figured out how to make skirted grubs. I knocked out about 30 of these today, which was mostly using a hot knife to melt the skirt and twin tail together. The best part is, this is all remelt, so I'm playing with house money.

I understand completely. I'm 45 and have a lifetime's worth of baits already. And I'm just getting started. I'm hoping to make rods next and then paint cranks. I have a pile of discontinued baits that I love in colors I do not. I'll be asking experts like you for help!

Thank you-i have a pile of TD (S,X,Z) here and I could never find a place to start. All of the customization is mind boggling.

Some of my favorites right there, you're going to love them. Before I spent a penny on new bearings, I'd do an acetone flush of the factory ones. Often the stock bearings on higher end reels are worth keeping.

We have those and blues where I grew up in southeastern Ohio. They do love jigs, that's for sure.
