Black Friday Deals
Could be, right after I bought mine they show as sold out, they are listed as new though, to me it doesn't matter anyway. It still had tags on and not one scratch or mark.

The only contact info I found on their site is a number with a Vietnam country code - buyer beware! Again if you can risk the loss it will be a gamble.

Lake Toho Guide Help
I've rented boats on coasts in Fl but never on Lakes, Toho is huge lake and Okeecobie is huge and about 2hrs away from Orlando. I didn't see boat rentals on north end of Toho but I wasn't looking either. I bet for cost of boat rental you can probably get close to cost of guide. Guide will have all the gear, bait, best locations and local knowledge.

Dobyns Drop Shot Rod
Although your set on the 702, Cragier12 has a DX701 for sale in Flea Market, extra savings may be worth a look. I have two Champions but not an Extreme, I would think that due to extra cost of Extreme, there is probably better and or new materials to justify cost. I don't you can go wrong with either. For finesse I think the extreme might be better suited though.

Jig Addiction Is Paying Off....
I am looking to fish with jigs more but have little experience. A question I have is how long do you throw jigs, and how long in-between bites? Are you basically trying to land on fishes nose or extremely close? How deep is water you mostly throw in? Thanks

More Expensive Habit Than Fishing
I carry and shoot .45 almost exclusively and collect military 1911's and A1's. Fishing is cheap by comparison, I don't have boat though.

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
Great info and healthy debate, I am leaning towards Stradic Ci4 in 2500 just because it will give a little more versatility over the 1000. I'll call around this week and see if local shop has them in stock to try on rod. With Black Friday coming up I will probably wait but dealer I bought rod from, if he has it in stock, will give me 20% off.

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
K3bass, the stride fj 1000 at 6.8 oz could be good but if I go with the 2500 it will get heavy at 8.3 ounces, which is starting to push the 4 oz rod. Thanks

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
I am leaning towards the Ci4 mainly because I want a lightweight reel on it and at 6 oz for 1000 and 6.8 oz for the 2500 they are almost lightest available. I tried it out today with a 9 oz basic reel and the balance was way off. Using 4 or 6 lb flouro will the 1000 have any increase in line twist or reduced casting distance? Whats the practice difference between the two sizes? Thanks

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
I just received a new Megabass Orocho X4 F3-610X4S Aarons Martin Limited, 6'10". It is a finesse spinning rod for 1/16 - 1/2 oz baits. Fishing from shore I plan to use finesse tactics with worms, jigs, in-line spinners etc, mostly up to 1/4 oz, on occasion up to 3/8. I have a couple question on reel selection size, I plan to use 4 and/or 6 lb flouro. Would a 1000, 2000, 2500 or 3000 be best? How important is "line take-up per turn"? Is more always better? Also, of the three below I am looking at do you have recommendations: Shimano Stradic FK Shimano Ci4 Lews Team Pro Speed Spin Thanks

Lake Toho Guide Help
Yes, I was just there, had two guides on two different days, the first was Capt, Kit Grumbly, 407-xxx-xxxx, the second was Capt. Randy with a Nitro Boat, I think I found him thru Capt Justin. Call Justin to try to get capt. Randy or go with Justin, 321-xxx-xxxx. I'll PM you their phone numbers direct. Your going at a good time, they sprayed the weeds so you can get back to the real big hawgs earlier.

Thefishingtacklehub.com Anyone Order From Here?
If it were me I would balance desire to get "hard to find discontinued bait" with most I could lose. If amount wasn't too much (subjective) I would do it but pay by PayPal. Just remember you potentially could lose it all. On another note the $20.00 s/h would probably cause me to pass unless I really REALLY wanted the item. I have a pet peeve of being ripped of on s/h charges and rarely allow myself to be taken advantage of this way. Again only caveat is if the item really is no longer available anywhere else I might hold the nose and hit the send button. That being said, when restoring an old car to date correct codes you would not believe how much I overpaid for some parts, I spend YEARS looking for date correct coded block and when finally found one didn't blink at his ridiculous price. I make fun of myself for what I paid, but truth be told it may have been years if ever, before I found another and I am not getting any younger.

Finally, Northend Pays Off.........
I started bass fishing in early September, read somewhere to diary outings so started documenting all outings on 9/12. Since then had ups and downs in the two ponds closest to me, but what has eluded me is catching anything on the northend of our south pond, this pond is kinda barbell shaped, northend finishes in large circle. These are neighborhood ponds with fish and some decent sized. I have tried the northend of south pond a dozen or more times and always got skunked, throwing worms, spinner, chatter, frogs, jerks, cranks, jigs in am, afternoons and pm..Over past week I have been throwing topwaters between 4-5pm as the fish are hitting the surface all around me but I never could elicit a strike. Well last night since weather dropped to mid-50's I decided to slow down and throw a 1/8 oz Blue Fox in-line shallow spinner during time they were hitting surface, roughly 5pm. I got there late and they were just ending hitting surface but on third cast caught almost 12" large mouth with slow retrieve on very old 5'5" Shakespeare UL trout rod/reel on 4lb test, I was casting to center of northend of pond where I usually see surface activity during this time. I stayed another 15 minutes and ran out of time and didn't repeat, but this was first time throwing an in-line spinner for bass, actually had to go out and buy it on lunch that day. The pond gets pretty good pressure so maybe different presentation was trick, or just luck? Depending on how the Ohio game is going this afternoon, I may try again tonight. What's interesting is in looking over my outing notes the only thing clear is that I cannot notice a pattern (or I am missing it due to my in-experience). Somedays one presentation works, next day with same conditions it may or may not.

Rod For Bandit 200's, Topwaters And Jerkbaits
I have the 634CB, use it for jerkbaits and topwaters, love it, great rod. I got shorter size since I fish from shore, alot of trees and brush to watch backswing on.

Looking For Opinions On My Website.
Although a bass novice and zero website experience, I have three observations: 1. On left column, font color is too close a match for background making reading a little tough for these, eh, aged...I mean more seasoned eyes. 2. I would add links for soecific presentations 3. The link box under the big jig has same hyperlinks as left column. Under the jig seems to be prime realestate, i would use that more effectively, like specials or drawing attention to specific presentations etc..... My two cents......
