The Heddon tiny torpedo is a very good multi species lure.

Lake Geneva has very good fishing so you should be able to have a good time.

I have caught lots of mosquito fish while micro fishing with small hooks. I used bread for bait.

Maybe you can experiment and try a different topwater and see if they like it where you are fishing. Sometimes showing them something different convinces them to bite. Have caught a bunch of bass this year on topwater since it is my favorite way to catch a bass.

Hopefully you can take pictures of these fish the next time you fish there. They are a beautiful species of black bass and have one of the smallest native ranges of all the black bass species. Have you visited the Bass Pro Shops in Tallahassee? The aquarium there has one of the biggest Suwannee bass that has been caught and it was very close to breaking the world record. I saw this bass in person along with other beautiful fish they have in that aquarium.

Largemouth bass are a introduced species in California but they are native where I live in South Florida. In fact the black bass I catch in South Florida are 100% Florida largemouth bass. I am mostly a multi species fisherman and enjoy catching all types of fish from tiny mosquitofish to sharks.

Is this lake completely landlocked or does it connect to a river? I have caught Suwannee bass in rivers and have not read of them being caught in a lake. Did you take pictures of them? Suwannee bass are one of my favorite species of black bass to catch. They rarely grow bigger than 12 inches and 14 inches or bigger is trophy sized. They might not grow big but pound for pound a Suwannee bass fights harder than a equal sized largemouth bass.

Nice bluegill. I have caught many big bluegills with a similar coloration like the one you posted.

I have caught many carp in places with very clear water. Have lost count of the big carp I have caught sight fishing.

Common carp are a introduced species of fish in North America and they are native to parts of Europe and Asia. I also enjoy carp fishing and have caught many over 40 inches long.

Nice bluegill you caught. I have caught bluegill with a very dark coloration and other unique patterns. In Northern Florida there is a variety of bluegill called a painted bluegill that has a very unique coloration.

In the +20 years I have fished for bass I have caught hundreds of lunker sized bass and most species of black bass that have been identified so far. Many would think that I would only want to fish for lunkers but that would be incorrect. I still enjoy fishing for all bass whether they are under 12 inches or over 26 inches long.

I have caught lots of nice sized sunfish on light line and inline spinners.

Rat-L-Traps are a great multi species lure and work well when fish are attacking schools of baitfish.

Yes I have caught adult sized bass on a bare hook. Most of the bass I have caught on a bare hook where under 16 inches. Have caught lots of big bass on hotdogs, bread, cut bait, etc while fishing for channel catfish. Goes to show you bass will eat almost anything.

The bass that I caught on a bare hook where wild bass in the Everglades. Have had +100 bass days while fishing in the Everglades and when the bite is on the bass will bite almost anything you fish well, including a bare hook. Have also caught 3 bass at the same time on a jerkbait and many times 2 bass on a jerkbait. Rainbow trout are a fun species of fish to catch.

I often use a 6-7'0'' Heavy action spinning rod with a size 4000 reel for bass fishing. I fish areas with heavy aquatic vegetation and lots of structure so this setup works well in the places I fish. The extra line capacity of a size 4000 reel is useful since many of the places I fish have snook, tarpon, and other powerful fish. I got some light tackle gear I use for fishing in very clear bodies of water or when I want to fish light tackle for fun.

It has been over 2 years since I wrote this and the answer remains the same. I have caught lots of bass fishing a Rat-L-Trap around a school of baitfish being attacked by bass.

Lol @TnRiver46. I am used to having a lot of people fishing in the places I fish and I catch lots of nice fish. Most people I see fishing are still learning how to fish. I hope they respect the environment and pick up the garbage they leave behind.

You do not always have to ''match the hatch'' when bass fishing. A lot of the lures I fish look nothing like a fish. For example a spinnerbait does not look like a fish yet it is one of the best lures for bass.

This has been the year I have seen the most people fishing in the +20 years I have fished. With the current situation happening many people are fishing to relax and have something to do.
