  1. Stanley, War Eagle, Terminator, many many good brands out there.
  2. PB&J and Black an Blue are fairly universal. I usually start with one of them unless I am luck enough to get a look at the local crawdads.
  3. The President Limited Edition spinning reel is available only in 2016 so get yours while you can. These reels take the President® to the next level of performance. They are lighter and faster with a high-speed gear ratio. Featuring a aluminum main shaft, aluminum pinion gear, sealed drag, carbon fiber handle and custom laser engraving. Very smooth reel, one of the top reels in this price range IMO.
  4. I may be wrong but have a lot of experience in Union Jobs. Management can speak to him however or whenever they want, his method for addressing this is by filling a grievance. Management should not address Union members in matters of discipline without a steward present. The exception to this rule is when a union member violates certain cardinal rules such as assaulting another person they can then be terminated on the spot with the right to still file a grievance if felt it was done outside the contract. Should it be determined that the contract is violated the member is entitled to his position back and pay for the work he missed during the grievance process. Happens all the time.
  5. After a better look, I would have to agree that it is not a sea bass, based on the forked tail.
  6. Glad that it helped.
  7. Here is a link to a great article about the spook, it will give some insight. http://www.in-fisherman.com/midwest-finesse/the-heddon-zara-spook-according-to-charlie-campbell/
  8. MH and H are powers of fishing rods, moderate to extra fast are actions. Lots of factors determine a rods ability to transmit vibration, not sure it would possible to tell without actually using the rods in question.
  9. How about "Just Another Fishing Channel"?
  10. I use split rings to balance my suspending jerkbaits and to help them suspend at the angle I prefer.
  11. Most well tied knots should hold just fine with CXX. Take your time and make sure you tie a good knot, it is one of the most important fundamentals of fishing, while you're at it make sure the hook is sharp also.
  12. I may be biased because I use a lot of their spinning reels, but in my mind you won't find a better deal for the money than Pflueger.
  13. Good time of year and a good bait for the cover you're describing is a big Florida rigged worm. AKA pegged TX rig.
  14. I like the look of his hard baits, the only ones that I own are the tate, they fish well. I prefer the spook, but that might be nostalgia speaking.
  15. As long as they are in parallel you will be fine. I think you're thread title is what threw Wane off.
  16. Damiki Hydra is similar to the IKA and is a solid bait.
  17. I think it is important for every well rounded angler to be able to use both spinning and casting. I won't enter the discussion on which is best because like others I just view them as tools, much like golf clubs, I won't use a driver to put or a putter to drive. Sorry for the analogy but you get the point. I enjoy using both very much.
  18. Called Shimano and told them I wanted to send the rod back on expediter service and of course they asked what rod, well they were out of stock until September on the GLX 854C that I broke and asked if I wanted something comparable. I selected the GLX 822S SYR and It was out of stock and was not going to be available until Nov. I asked if they had it in the NRX could I upgrade, they told me that they don't usually but in my situation they would. Charged me 85 upgrade fee and 100 expediter fee 185 total. I originally got the 854c on sale for around 300 so I made out ok on the deal. You're correct, Shimano charges 100 it was American Legacy that charges 125 for their expediter service, and they bill your credit card for the full amount of the replacement rod until you return the other, Shimano does not charge your card for the replacement unless you take longer than 30 days on your return. Shimano was a pleasure to deal with on this return.
  19. Long story short, contacted G Loomis and ended up with a NRX 822S SYR
  20. You could, then it would be exactly the same but different
  21. I have one of the panfish rods and it is fantastic. A lot of fun for bluegill. It is also a one piece rod, where IIRC the Fenwick is a two piece if that makes a difference.
  22. I know it sounds kind of weird but if you are worried about an overhead cast with one of the heavier baits you might try pitching them. I do this often as I fish from a boat and my casts are typically about 20 yards or so to cover. I am much more accurate with the pitching. It will also give you and idea of how the rod is going to respond and may give you some confidence with other styles of casting the heavier baits.
  23. leader for me, seems to tangle hooks a lot less
