What's your #1 Lure of all time??
Lots and lots of great baits, I would say my favorite is a Zara Spook Jr. in bone white. Nothing fancy about them, but they will flat out catch fish.

Best all around Crankbait color
If I was only going to have 1 color it would be fire tiger.

Proven fish catchers, an extensive list
Was getting ready last night for fishing today and this post made me remember that I had purchased a few bags of these baits. One of the bags I had purchased was the 4" Green Pumpkin, anyway went out today using this bait and best five was a little over 17.5 lbs., thanks for the heads up.

Question about Daiwa tatula ct
The Type R has dragon's tears mixed in with the fairy dust and unicorn horn, the regular does not use unicorn horn.

Rod, reel, lure and line you caught your PB bass on.
Casitas has produced a number of monster bass over the years, hard to beat a lake that stocks trout 9 months out of the year.

Drag Question
For getting the gear set off the gear shaft I just use a small metal brush and clean the shaft, if that does not do the trick, you can usually find a little high metal and it can be carefully removed with a jewelers file. The spring washers can be installed either way it () )( it won't make a difference, you just don't want them )) or ((. Check to make sure you assembled with the drag washer between the anti-reverse ratchet and main gear and not under the anti-reverse ratchet. Also check and make sure that the anti-reverse ratchet is keyed to the drive shaft properly. Good Luck

how to fish tubes for smallies
At some of the lakes I fish that hold a good small mouth population there is a transitional period where the fish focus less on shad and become much more interested in crawdads. During this period tube fishing becomes very good, I generally fish a tube in much the same way I would a jig, it has produced some good fish over the last several years.

Major Help needed!
Try to keep your casts smooth, for a 3/8 ounce weight to snap 30lb test line I would think you may be snapping the casts. Another possibility is you have a bad guide on your rod, but I would think you may have noticed fraying with any type of cast if this was the case.

Why do you fish?
When ever someone asks me this question my typical reply is, "If you have to ask me, you will never understand." The truth is, that explanation is an easy way to avoid a long conversation with someone who may have only politely asked the question, and certainly did not expect a long diatribe for the answer. The long conversation has many reasons why I fish. The first and foremost reason I fish is that I truly feel it brings me spiritually closer to my loved relatives that have passed before me, bringing me intense relaxation and intense happiness. I use to hunt birds, pheasant, dove, quail, geese, and duck. It give me the same feeling, but the downside to it was that in order for me to feel like I was a successful hunter, I had to kill. I do not enjoy the act of killing, in fact it makes me feel very bad. Fishing is a lot like hunting, but I don't have to kill to be successful, my trophies get to live on for another angler to enjoy, and I still get the same great feeling. This one gets a little weird but I will share with you my friends anyway, maybe some of you can relate. I was raised by my Grandparents, and I was very lucky, my Grandparents loved me with all their hearts, and same was true for me, I loved them both very much. They were older when I was young and I didn't have as much time with them as I would have liked. When I fish, sometimes it is to remember, remember what it smelled like when I would wake up in the morning and Grandma was cooking breakfast, hearing the pans bang the stove and Grandma going through the task of fixing breakfast. It helps me remember the sound of my Grandfather's car pulling in the drive after a long day at work, knowing that he was home and I would get to spend time with him in the garden, or maybe take a brake and go fishing. It is the smell of the giant mimosa trees that we would sit under and snap beans, me listening to stories of their youth and time spent with their Parents. I love fishing for a lot of reasons, and I wont bother you with the long diatribe. Just know that I do.

- You Don't Need Money To Catch Bass
When I was youger, my Brother and I would fish all day at the river catching mostly carp but the occasional catfish or turtle would fall prey also. Some of these catches were very large for the Zebco 202 combos we had at the time. We burned the gears out of and returned so many of the 202 reels that the Manager of the local TG&Y department store politely told us not to come back. Some how we ended up with much nicer Zebco 33 reels that I used until I was just about out of High School. I caught hundreds of fish on those reels, did I miss bites because of the mono line, the glass rods and the very slow retrieval rate of the reels, who knows. What I will say is that once I had the means to upgrade my equipment I did so, and either the fish started biting a lot better, or the better equipment made a lot of difference. Great story, it will be an experience you will always remember and tell. I have always been a KVD fan, and your story only reminds me of why. He is the greatest, there is a reason they all call him #1,- You Don't Need Money To Catch Bass
Tournament fees, gasoline, insurance, boat, oil, hotel rooms, tackle, food on the road. Expense it not limited to rod and reels.- Dobyns champion
3 or 4 years ago, all you heard about was Dobyn's Rods, almost any post that asked about rods was dominated by people recommending Dobyn's. Things change, something new comes along and people favor it over what is considered old. What's sensitive today will be tomorrows dead stick. If you are worried about what others think, just get the Gloomis or St. Croix and be done with it.- Double Plopper
I'm sure someone is in their lab hard at work on a new tackle box for these monstrosities.- Double Plopper
Hoping to get out tomorrow morning a give it a try. Not suppose to be much wind so maybe it will run good.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
That is way cool, I think it would be awesome if you guys really did give it (drum) a try and report back on it. Maybe if it were as good as some say, it would help control the population a little.- Double Plopper
Anyone had a chance to try out the Double Plopper Buzz type bait yet?- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
It's all good, I would hope that we could all be friends and still have a difference of opinion. We are all here for the same reason, we enjoy fishing and sharing about it. Nothing personal on my end.- Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
Blue gill are excellent table fare, their meat is fairly flaky and has a slightly sweet taste to it, imo.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Being friends in great and sharing view is often what creates friendships. However sometimes we rush to the defense of a friend at the expense of remaining objective. I mentioned in a previous post that it was not an attack, just an observation. I know it's hard, Bless You. - You Don't Need Money To Catch Bass
