  1. Wow Russ!!! That is simply awesome. You did a great thing for your community. We need more people on this planet willing to do so much for others. Keep up the great work. TL
  2. Great vid!! Looks like your buddy was about to throw his rod in the water ;D
  3. Agreed. Very good of you to release those beauties. Nice job.
  4. That's a fatty for sure. Nice job 8-)
  5. I never thought of that. I guess we could just unload everything out of the back of the truck and put it in the boat and just bust out the sleeping bags. Good idea. Thanks Titelinez!!!
  6. Thanks guys. Good fishing, good company and good memories. Looks like I'm going back in July but we are taking the wives this time. Should be fun I wish I could invite people along but it ain't my boat and it really only comfortably seats two. We really want to fish Clear Lake soon. I wish there was good camping in that area. I have a hard time springing for hotel rooms to go fishing.
  7. We got there on Friday morning and setup camp. This is one beautiful lake. We saw some interesting rock layering. This is usually underwater Here we are just leaving the marina Waterway to Heavan We headed out with the intention of catching some bass. The water was very very low, 67-69 degrees and very clear. Shanman said it was about 20 feet higher when he was here last year in late summer. We figured the reaction bite would be hot so we started out throwing things like spinnerbaits, crankbaits, chatterbaits and the like. Nothing...not even a follower. We then headed up to the northern most part of the sac arm to see what we could see. We saw huge trout and bass up where the sac comes into the lake but nothing was biting. The first day of fishing went very slowly. We were seeing bass everywhere but couldn't get them to bite. We tried everything in our arsenal and only ended up with two bass the first day. Both on soft plastics. First fish of the trip Shanman also caught us some dinner when he hooked into this little keeper. Caught him while trolling a threaded worm near sac river. The second day was much better as we finally figured out what we were doing wrong. As we started fishing weightless we instantly started putting numbers in the boat. Slow slow slow was the key. Most of the bass we caught looked like this 1-1.5 pounders. This lake is overrun with them. The big fish are there. It's just a matter of getting your bait in front of them before it is gobbled up by a dink. We also did some downrigging for trout. A small brown trout colored broke-back rapala was the key for the trout. Shanmans nice trout My trout on the second day Biggest fish of the day What happens when you don't push on your rod tip well enough when putting it together While downrigging for trout we had quite an interesting experience. One that I will probably never forget. We were just sitting quietly in the boat when we both heard this very audible whoosh whooosh sound coming up behind us. We turn around in time to see this huge bald eagle swoop down 20 feet behind our boat and ****** at a trout. He missed the trout but proceded to circle the boat 4 times before taking a rest up in a nearby tree. I fumbled for the camera and only managed to get this one decent pic. The others were pretty fuzzy. What a way to end the day The third day we only had a few hours to fish so we went back to the spot that we had most of our success with the day before. The fish were not there so we moved on. We were fishing some flooded trees when I hooked into our biggest fish 2.0 lbs even Not huge I know but it was a blast to catch. We saw about 3 smaller fish that were following him up and ended up with one of those as well. Then on the way out we stopped at this point and I got this one. He went a whopping 1.3 lbs All in all it was an amazing trip. Finding that big bite never happened but we had a great time fishing for numbers. Titelinez!!!
  8. WTG!! I don't have to worry about my wife out fishing me cause she'll never go ;D
  9. Similar thing happened to me. I was throwing a crig brown senko off this point and hooked into what I thought was the bass of the year but turned out to be this: 6.5lb trout. :-?
  10. Simply amazing. That last fish just made my jaw drop.
  11. Way to get out there and nail 'em 4. It's always great to get out with the old man. I've got to bring my Dad out soon.
  12. That second one is a fatty. Nice catchin!!
  13. That's about the same size as my first bass. I was just a little older than him though. Very cool. I will never forget that day as long as I live.

    What a Monster!!!
  15. According to Bill Dance about 98% of all noise is deflected by the water. Especially if there is any kind of chop. Not sure if it's true but I'm I bet his people did more research than my Father who always told me to be quiet when fishing as a kid. I'm certainly not as concerned about it as I was back then. I don't yell in the boat or anything but I won't hesitate to carry on a conversation with my fishing partner while we are fishing.
  16. Anybody have one of these? Pros, Cons? Seems like a steal at $40 http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Guide-3307-Tackle-Bag/dp/B000E3Q1UQ/sr=1-1/qid=1169827781/ref=sr_1_1/002-7886448-9102443?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods
  17. That was a great story. I wish you guys had brought a video camera. ;D
  18. Those are some really cool pics. I've got one of me holding up this huge 5lber. My first bass. Caught her on a live nightcrawler. She was tasty too. First fish that I caught and ate. I didn't know any better. I was like 6 years old I gotta see if I can find that pic.
  19. That is one MONSTER crappie.
  20. I wish I could get my wife on the boat....wait a minute, what am I thinking?!? You're all nuts :-?
  21. IEatBass, Welcome to the forum and nice catching!! That looks like an awesome lake. Titelinez!!
  22. Thanks guys. I tell ya, even though we only caught a fish a piece it was well worth the outing. I do a lot of surf perch fishing and other local bass fishing from the shore recently and just catching one fish that day made the previous 3 skunks all worth it. It's been a pretty slow winter for me. Redlinerobert, Sweet!! What kind of boat are you getting? We will be up at Anderson again this Saturday. We'll be hitting that water as much as possible now that we know how good it can be. We'll dress a bit warmer next time though. I talked to a few people on the water that day. Some in boats, some fishing from the docks and the general concensus was that fishing has been slow recently. Hopefully we'll get a few degrees of lasting warmth here in the next few weeks and the bite will turn on for a bit. Hope to see you up there. Feel free to PM me if you plan a Saturday trip anytime soon. That's our day to fish. Regards, Titelinez!!!
  23. Out on the water by 8am. It was overcast all day and very very cold. Water was stained, 2-4ft visibility. This was my first day fishing Anderson. I must say I think this is a great reservoir. Plenty of shore line and quite a few arms, creek channels and some good structure. We measured about 150ft deep in the middle. We fished for bass only. I got my fish on a C rigged big ika in smoke with red flake. Fish was caught off a small rocky point in about 4 ft of water. First fish on soft plastics for me. I was pretty stoked. 1lb 8oz: Shannon got his fish trolling a medium diving crankbait (crawdad pattern) in about 40ft of water. Lucky basstard got this 3lb 5oz beauty just sitting there suspended at 10ft over 40ft: Off the water at 3:30pm. It was a slow day overall but I was very excited to fish a new body of water. We'll be going back soon for sure.
  24. Congrats!! That is a beautiful Hawg.
  25. ;D That is just classic!! I bet your rod was doubled over
