  1. March 5 through March 25. I plan on trading in a fishing pole, buy an inflatable life jacket and some tackle storage trays.
  2. I have some of them too that I’m going to use.
  3. So I decided to buy waterproof tackle storage trays for all my treble hook, lures and my chatterbaits. Today I started putting my squarebills in the new trays and in doing this I’ve noticed some of the lures have rusty hooks and the little eyelets that the hooks go on. So I’m going to get new eyelets (I’m pretty sure that’s what they are called) and start changing out the rusty hooks. In starting this I noticed I have a few little packages of mustad hooks of different sizes to start my little project. The hooks are mostly sized from 2’s and 4’s with a set of 1/0 hooks. With all this being said what size hook should I put on my squarebills and lipless crankbaits and my crankbaits??? Thanks for the feedback. Hope y’all have a blessed day.
  4. @mcipinkie I never thought about vinegar & water. Do you know how it works on painted aluminum?
  5. I was wondering if 303 wax is good on tracker aluminum boats? Or what do you use on your Tracker???
  6. So I bought a pair of Fishoholic to replace my costas and bought some Botepon Boat Bungee Dock Lines 4 the boat got that today.
  7. So I take it that you don’t trim the skirts because finesse jigs are smaller and because they’re smaller skirts, you don’t need to be trimmed? Am I correct? 🥴
  8. When fishing a finesse jig, do you trim the skirt like you would a regular jig? I haven’t fished finesse jigs and am going to fish them the next time I go fishing which will hopefully be next week. Thanks for your response.
  9. My wife bought me a spinnerbait 2 summers ago and the skirt wore off so I bought a package of replacement skirts because I really like that spinnerbait. My question is this, Can I use those replacement skirts on jigs too or do jigs have different replacement skirts? Hopefully this isn’t a stupid question. Thanks for the reply’s
  10. I miss Florida fishing. Lived there since I was 3 years old. Had a teacher in the 4th grade get me into fishing, back in 1973, gave me an old Zebco and started fishing at a little pond down the street from my house in Naples. My first bass I caught was 4 lbs and been hooked on bass fishing ever since. That all being said, never heard of chumming for bass before, sharks yes bass no. Live in South Carolina now, sure do miss Florida bass fishing. Anyway good luck and have a blessed day.
  11. I was wondering if anyone trades their rods that they don’t like in when BPS does their yearly trade in this March?
  12. Is Gerald Swindal fishing tournaments yet? And if so, which one??? I know he had both knees replaced and that might stop him for a few tournaments, I was just wondering, thanks and have a great weekend
  13. Anglers choice had their open store boat show today. There were a few pros there and of course Hank Parker. ( He gets his Ranger boat there) My Wife was with me and from a distance I pointed him out and told her how famous he was in the bass fishing world. So we walked around and visited a couple places and we had to go by him. And he was talking with some people, and we simply asked them to move Politely which they did. At which he had said hello to My Wife and My Wife said I know you from somewhere and before he could say anything she quickly said from a most wanted poster. He started laughing and was so kind and polite to My Wife and got a big kick out of that. Again, My Wife had no idea who he was but I did so we talked for a few minutes and he was very, kind and gracious with us. Anyway I just wanted to share that story with you today. It was great meeting Hank Parker but the best part was hearing my name called for winning the door prize. But even better then that was being there with my wife at my side. Have a blessed weekend.
  14. I have an 2017 bass pro 175 txw tracker (which is of course is an aluminum bass boat). I was wondering if anyone knows of a good cleaner/restorer for the console? I think it’s a little faded. Thanks for your input.
  15. I have a battery charger in my boat to charge my batteries before I go on trips, would I need a NOCO battery booster? I saw that someone and I forget who, who posted that it is a good thing to have. So I was just wondering, thanks for your input.
  16. @A-JayFirst of all thanks for your service, I always like to thank those you have served our country. Second, thanks for the advice on the trailer. I do grease the bearings and store some tools but that’s about it. I check the air pressure before each trip but that it too. I’ll have to get better on getting a list together in what I should have. Thanks again
  17. @Smirak you make a really great point.
  18. Update #2, I received a email from costa that they didn’t have an arm for my sunglasses. But they will give me 50% off on a new pair. So I guess that’s the end of it. Being a correctional officer in a state that has the 2nd lowest pay in the country, that’s still a lot a money to spend on sunglasses. Anyway thanks for all the replies, happy fishing.
  19. So here is an update on the costa’s. Luxottica said my costa’s are out of warranty and there’s nothing they can do. So I ask is there a way I can just get an arm to replace the one that’s broken? So it is now a waiting game. So that’s my update. Y’all have a good one and happy fishing.
  20. Could you use a micro power pole on an aluminum bass boat? I have a 17 ft 6 inch bass tracker. I was just wondering, thanks for the inputs.
  21. So my costa broke at the arm and the frame. I’m hoping to get that ratified today. Has anybody dealt with Costa? I’m just hoping to get the arm replaced. I’ll replies are appreciated.
  22. @A-Jay thank you for that information, I’m sure that I’m not the only one to appreciate your knowledge on this topic. Again thanks for sharing.
  23. I’m sure this has been asked before. I am looking for a new inflatable life jacket and was wondering, what do you look for? What should I be careful of? I don’t know if this makes a difference or not but I’m 6’2 and we about 275 lbs. anyway, thanks for your input. Especially @A-Jay
  24. What kind of thermos do you use for base layering? temperatures where I live will probably be around 30° to 45° weatherwise range. I’m going winter fishing for the first time and I’m from southwest Florida. But I’m looking forward to it. thank you for your input.
  25. I’ve only fished like three times in the past year. My question is how often should I sharpen my hooks? And if there rusty, should I just get new hooks? i’ll be going over my inventory which isn’t much but I’m sure there’s some rust on my spinnerbaits, crankbait or jerkbait and worm hooks. I hate to think how much replacing I might have to do. Anyway, y’all have a great day hope you’re having a good new year. Look forward to your replies.
