  1. @A-Jay that was a good one😂 My wife is from that area and I went to high school in Apopka. I sure do miss fishing them Florida lakes. Good luck @Ski and @FloridaFishinFool great report
  2. My wife “IS” my best friend. So sorry for your loss. Will be praying for you and your family
  3. The closest lake is 10 minutes away. But I have traveled up to hour and a half. But in May I’m going to my our niece graduation just outside of Chattanooga. My wife’s brother lives like 20 minutes from Chickamauga lake. So that will be about 4 hours drive which I have no problem making. Going to fish that lake for 3 days, it’s going to be ruff 🥴 but I’m game. The funny thing is it was my wife’s idea and I’m not going to argue with her at all 😂😂😂
  4. Here and to some friends from work who like to fish
  5. Ok, this is how far the rods stick out. As I was thinking about this I was thinking about using a piece of plexiglass at the end to keep my rods from breaking. What do ya’ll think about this? Again thanks for the input.
  6. @Jig Man that is exactly what I was thinking. I’ll have pictures tomorrow with how the rods hang over the edge
  7. @gim yes I can, I’ll post after work tomorrow . The rods are 7’6” and 7 foot rods.
  8. I have a Bass pro 175 tracker which I love. But my rods stick out past the deck. I thought that I saw an upgrade of a deck on a video once that was extended to keep his poles from breaking. Has anyone know of an extension of the deck or part of the deck to make the rods from being broken??? Yep that’s right I broke another rod. Thanks for your input
  9. So sometime ago somehow I broke one of my taillights. So I finally decided to order a new light thinking that it was a LED light. Nope, it wasn’t so now I’ll have to replace the other taillight with a LED one…Rats🥴
  10. Thanks for your reply’s I will be getting a few things from them very soon.
  11. Anybody ever order from T-H Marine? Just wondering. Need to order a new winch & strap, saw a nice one and was planning to order one. Thanks for the input
  12. I was at Walmart today and was going to buy a scale and quickly realized that I’ll have to reach deeper into my pockets 🥴 Does anyone have a good suggestion for an affordable good digital scale? All Suggestions are appreciated.
  13. For a digital fish scale that fits my budget would you take the Rabala or Kastking??? my old Rapala just went to in the trash. Changing out the battery when it broke. I bought it like 30 some years ago so I’m not too upset about it but I need to also get a new taillight replacement too. Anyway as always your input is always appreciated.
  14. I love Hartwell, my first classic was there. Looking forward to it. Now I haven’t been to a Redcrest but sure it’s the same right?
  15. So I don’t normally buy Seaguar because it’s out of my price range. But I found Seaguar 101 Basix 100% fluorocarbon 12lbs at a store (BPS) my wife doesn’t like me going to because I always seem to go over the budget she gives me🥴 I used it the other day and I thought it cast pretty good. Anyway thought that I would share in case someone was thinking about getting it. Have a blessed day
  16. Nope, put if it is like all their other reels, it should be great. I love Lews reels. That’s all I use. I have been slowly changing out all my rods to Lews. Hope you like the reel
  17. That sucks, sorry to hear that. I’m not to far behind you. I’ll be 63 in may and I have a MRI on my knee on Thursday, I’m sure it was from doing something stupid too.🥴 Don’t worry the bass will still be there for you to catch when you get better
  18. For me I thought that I wouldn’t pay more then $150.00 for a rod, but I have 2 Lews rods that are $180.00. The Lews Rod that I just traded in was an older rod that was my least favorite rod I replaced it with a Lews LFS rod and that was $140.00. Now for reels again I’m a Lews guy, my reels range in the $100.00 to $150.00ish.
  19. I’m going to say this first, I have large hands and find it hard to find gloves that fit. 😳 second, I did have to crop the pix to make it fit the “max total size”🤪 third I was using a white chatter bait with an white rage tail for a trailer. He was the biggest bass I have caught on the lake I fish. The coolest part of the day though was I saw I Bald Eagle flying overhead. Now I need to get a battery for my scale 🥴
  20. This is my lone bass of the day, I was going to see how much it weighed but the battery was dead on my scale. I’m thinking between 3 and 4 pounds? What do you think?
  21. I was just wondering, I know you can fish jigs pretty much year around. My question is this, is spring time the time for the swing jig to come out? I have never fished the swim jig before. Thanks for your replies.
  22. Ok, with a blessings of my wife. We went to Bass Pro shop’s trade -in event. I traded my medium heavy lews rod for a 7 ft lews medium LFS rod. Plus got two waterproof storagy trays and some split rings to replace my rusty treble hooks with. Just thought I’d share plan to go fishing tomorrow.
  23. @global Moderator I have heard that too and plan to fish that also
  24. So I went to my brother-in-law‘s house this weekend. It is four hours away real small town called Chattanooga you might have heard of it. Just outside Chattanooga Tennessee is a smaller town called Collegedale,Tennessee, where he lives. I have always thought that Chickamagua lake was near the battlefield of Chickamaugua in Georgia. Nope. He lives 20 to 25 minutes away from a boat ramp. Now that I know this guess what I’m gonna be going every so often. That’s right going to fish Chickamauga Lake. The sad part about this is My Wife and I have been going to his house every so often for nine years. If I had known he lived that close sooner I would be fishing there more often. I guess I should look at a map sooner. Anyway, just thought I’d share that.
