Need some help
Heya Fat-G, I see you're in Richmond, have you tried Pocahontas ? Its been producing moderately well. Stick close to bank structure there. If you beat the banks give lake rooty a shot in innesbrook. In a week or so shad will be running up the james and you can smack some of those, hella fun! They don't call them "baby tarpon" for nothing!

Richmond
In about 2hrs of fishing a buddy reported he caught 4 shad. They're coming, just not en masse yet!

Yellow Braid?
I found I had a hard time seeing yellow for some reason out on the water in the kayak (lower angle maybe?) Try the suffix Neon Fire if you REALLY want to see your line

Richmond Shad Run

Richmond Shad Run
It usually begins around this time...however the recent rains really pushes the run back a bit. I think the river levels are near flood stage or just lower below it. Once the levels get down to about 7-8 ft the run should start up. I think we might be getting more rain this weekend so....that's no good. I'll maybe give it a shot at ancarows tmr before dragging the kayak out.

Falcon Customer Service - Am I over reacting??
Take a picture of the rod, reel and line next time. Send it with the rod to show what the problem is and that should cut down on all the back and forth.

Pocahontas State Park 3/10/10
So, went out to Pocahontas State Park Air temps were in the high 60's Water temp low 50's My go to baits were: Grey spinnerbait [Megabass V3 Midge] (2x Tiny willow blades) had no luck with the White/Chart/Black. Rapala X-Rap XR10 in Olive Green I worked mainly drop offs and points, hit about 15 fish around 13in give or take.. many others I didn't bother taking a pic of... On this one point it happen to drop off pretty steeply so I ripped the X-Rap along it...jerk jerk pause...jerk...pause...load... 5.5lbs, 20.75ish inches!

Hit a nice one in Richmond ;)
Yep its a new model that Wilderness just came out with. It's more of a Kayak+Canoe hybrid so it's really stable and it's pretty darn light. This is just day 1 though and those southern boys on the site can bust out some really nice fish so I'm not getting my hopes up!

kayak fishing gloves
A lot of yaking guys I know use Glacier Gloves, personally I use wool mittens that fold back. I also use seal skinz gloves too but dexterity is a tad bit of an issue there.

Well, another NOVA thread
Man sometimes hitting the perch is a heck of a lot more fun than bass...especially when you can slam 100 in a day! Awesomeness Dan.

PB Striped bass from the kayak!
Thank again guys =) It's actually not too bad! The sit-on-top kayaks are pretty stable and if properly geared even getting flipped will barely get you wet! You all should try it sometime =D

Kayak NOVA trip
When I hear standing on kayaks I think about the Wilderness system ride 135, and the OK prowlers. They're suppose to be some of the most stable due to their width. I occasionally stand on mine especially when fishing frogs in some nasty stuff, but it not nearly as stable as a Ride. Some guys with better balance than me claim they can dance on a Ride and not tip I have no such balance, lol

PB Striped bass from the kayak!
Thanks guys, it was a blast on the kayak. I was using a 6'6" MH ugly stick (the stouter ones) with a 4500 Baitrunner, 50lb Powerpro, 2oz egg sinker, ~4ft of 30lb mono for a leader, 9/0 Gammy Octopus hook with an eel on the end =)

PB Striped bass from the kayak!
My first cow was a huge rush! My friend and I arrived a bit later than everyone else at around 6:30 and we start paddling/peddling out Ninja game face Along the way we paddle towards some Visipoles (I need to get one cause they stick out like sore thumbs at night) and we meet up with a friend who gives us some magical eels. Kyle and his magic eels Jason's mad drifting skills After about 20 mins of drifting Jason hooks up...fights for a tad bit and drops the ball! We angrily start to drift again on the opposite side...possibly an hour later, I hook up! (Thanks to Jason for the awesome action shots) He drags me around and once ran directly towards the ships, but thanks to the mirage drive I put a stop to that. The fight Too close to the ships for comfort! Starting to peak! He finally comes up after what seemed like 10mins of fighting ( prob alot less ) Leg technique I read about on kayakkevin's site to get big stripers into the yak. and VICTORY! Measured to be 41in LargePic

PayPal can kiss my
I've had the same happen to me also. My card that I use to rack up frequent flier miles and used exclusively for gas had a 5k limit a year ago. It has been steadily decreasing and now it's at 1.2k....the worst thing about it is that the interest has been slowly climbing up. Luckily I barely ever use more than $200 on gas and pay it off every month...Unfortunately I've had this card for 7 years since I was 18, and I've heard that canceling a card you've had for a long time (respectively) can hurt credit. Any truth to this? I do like the miles though =D
