  1. All these were from the kayak. I think the area you're talking about is pony pastures, but I don't know of a spot where you can fish from shore there.
  2. I lost all repect for you after that statement. I mean at our school we beat up the kids who watched the Power Rangers. ;D ;D You know you like it too, everyone was a closet powerranger lover. Just no one wanted to admit it ;D
  3. I bought a HUGE lot of gammy superlines about 3 years ago 2/0 - 5/0, I've never had one bend or roll.
  4. Ever get a chance to try out near belle isle? Some decent sized ones in there 30+ 28in
  5. I use Seal Skinz, they're waterproof but they aren't very warm, I wear them under some North Face Bionic gloves which are suppose to be waterproof but don't feel like it after a while.
  6. Paranormal Activity? Is it really as scary as everyone says?
  7. Heya Arctic, I've only ever had mirage drive kayaks, my first was the Mirage Sport and my second the Revolution. But I've fished out of a ton of SINKs and SOTs before I picked those up. I personally LOVE my drive system it allows for almost hands free fishing (hand still needed for a bit of rudder control, while other yaks are foot controlled). They're fast so if you're on a bit larger bodies of water you can cover more distance to get to that sweet spot. Some quick pros and cons off the top of my head are... Pros: -Almost hands free fishing -Faster than comparable sit-on-tops -Covers greater distance -Don't have to use the drive if you don't want to (for the River Raid 1 on KBF I didn't bring the drive and just put in the drive plug) -All mirage yaks come with rudder, seat, paddle standard. -Can hold my position in current if fishing moving water like underneath bridge channels etc. while other yaks will have to paddle back up every cast depending on current. Cons: -Price...for 1 revo you could probably buy 2-3 Tarpon 120's -Weedy water, the weeds can get caught on the drive fins even if they're up and against the yak -Submerged rocks close to the surface are nasty too, normal yaks can glide over it but with the drive if you don't see it you risk running a fin into it. Been there, and done that ;D (Drive mast = $10+shipping) -Drive maintenance, the drive alone is worth ~$500 -If you flyfish the drive can get in your way. Though I fly fish regularly off the revo with the drive in, it can be really annoying when your line gets caught on it. On KBF you mentioned you wanted a stable yak, I hadn't heard much of the OKPBG, but when anyone ever mentioned stability in a yak my mind thinks first of the Ride 135 like others have posted about. Hope this helps! Simon
  8. Just curious, but where did ya get that fact from?
  9. The whole point of craigslist is to be able to see the thing you're buying and take it home on the spot.
  10. My GF recently got me one of these for our anniversary. Love the thing! I got the striper pattern.
  11. 6'6" MH F St croix LT for $80 off ebay =D seller put it up as a st criox and no one saw it for tackle...the crazy Boaters world sale...picked up Ragetails for $1ish a pack
  12. The arby's roast beef sandwich reminds me of Roy Rogers back in the day! Can't remember if they taste the same (doubt it) but I remember I used to love em as a kid. I like Five Guy's too, their fries are awesome...one thing I don't like is that you have to eat the burgers almost immediately after you get them. The burger patties are so juicy and the foil they wrap it in traps all the moisture so that the buns get all soggy if you don't. Great burgers none the less!
  13. Wow that's wierd
  14. Yea, same happened to me at Dicks once before, I check them now also. I've seen some of the craziest things lately... A few weeks ago i saw people topping of their liquid detergent bottle with another one in the middle of the isle in a Target. Taking an entire box of bandaids out of one box and shoving them in another. and even at my local marine aquarium store...a guy filling his water tanks up with saltwater then claiming it was fresh RO/DI water (1.00/gal vs 0.50/gal)....he gave me the nastiest look when I corrected him at the register.
  15. Probably something like the pointer was connected to a giant projector that would project what was written, what got me is how they got the words to be so stable while in a boat... maybe the projector was set up on land, beats me.
  16. I have Avids and LT's and honestly I can't notice any significant difference. The LT's are a bit tip heavy (split grip) while the avids are more balanced. As for sensitivity I can't feel a difference. If I were to do it all over again I wouldn't buy the LTs and would just have stuck to Avids.....or maybe try out some IMX/GLXs =D
  17. I've heard you have to go far up the left arm of the lake.
  18. I go and catching some bluegill, then put a circle hook through their tails, toss them out on a 8/0 circle hook, weightless, and wait. Make sure it's legal in your state first!
  19. I used the Improved Albright/Alberto knot.
  20. How's the warranty on the factory-seconds?
  21. I mainly use a fluoro leader because my braid is all hi-vis...yellow/red/orange. I also like it because it keeps the cost of my braid down, to retie I only snip away at the leader instead of the braid.
  22. Yea, I live by that Church Corpus Christi (?) in Falls Church...traffic is HORRIBLE.
  23. Agreed on the hype. If you want anything self adjusting you'd have to spend the big bucks and spring for the DC (Digital Control) line reels from Shimano (Calais/Calcutta) which run ~$600
  24. Seriously? I hope you mean docile to humans cause they are wreaking havok on the ecosystem. They're extremely aggressive fish, if you've ever felt one slam a top water lure you'd know...
