Swimbaits
4-5 inch Berkley Ripple shad, this thing is overlooked. I'm telling you rig this on a jig head and swim it just about anywhere and it will produce! -Payton

Jig and Worm

Jig and Worm
Has anyone here ever used a jig with a worm as a trailer? I've done this a few times after seeing a guy do it in a video. It surprisingly has produced some decent fish. I use a finesse jig with a trick worm trailer. Do any of you do this? -Payton

What lb braid?
Depends what you're using the MH Rod for but for me personally 50 lb is a little overkill. If you want to use braid I would use 30 lb or I would us 17 lb co poly. -Payton

Spawn fishing lures
A zero gravity jig is a brand of jig that has a very slow fall rate (1 foot per 3 seconds) opening up different avenues than that of a regular jig. Hope this clears things up. -Payton

What lure caught your largest bass in 2015 ?
Z-Man Original Chatterbait black and blue with a black and blue bio spawn plasma tail as a trailer. -Payton

Where do you need to improve ?
X2 always can throw a shakey head but never can catch one on the dropshot, I'll try what A-Jay said.

Spinnerbait/chatterbait rod
If you're set on the Veritas I would recommend using a medium instead because it will fish more like a MH. -Payton

Ive caught tons of bass in a canal, but i went today and no bass!? Did i do something wrong?
Try something you can reel over the grass like a lipless crankbait, chatterbait, etc. (whatever you have confidence in) or throw something weightless that will just sit on top of the grass. Might I add that little finesse swimbaits on a small jig head are money in these conditions. Hope this helps! -Payton

Your 2015 in Review - Goals for 2016
2015 was up and down, Spring was killer bed fishing. Summer was tough but managed to squeeze out one of the best days of fishing I've ever had. Fall was okay actually the worst compared to the other seasons. Winter is just now hitting so we'll sw what 2016 has in store. As far as goals I want to gain more confidence in some finesse presentations and slowing down a bit. -Payton

Rod and line for pitching and flipping wood
Personally I would use the same setup as if I was flipping into heavy cover. 30-50 lb braid to make sure you don't break off and Heavy/Fast rod with the brand of your choice. JMO, tight lines. -Payton

Crankbaits 1/3/16
Good way to spend a Sunday! Nice fish, and tight lines! -Payton

Berkley Soft plastics what am I missing?
The Berkley Gulp "Ripple Shad" is a 4 inch, fish catching beast. Use a little jig head most styles of jig heads work. Spring through Fall even warm days in Winter these things will PRODUCE. -Payton

Bad Way To Start The Year
Went fishing on the first day of the year to start it off right. Blue bird skies, 8 mph wind, 47 degree air temps. Looked like I was gonna be on a lipless or spinnerbait bite. Needless to say I rotated throughout the tackle box and ended up getting one bight all day flipping into shallow cover... missed him. So I started off the year with a skunk. Hope this isn't a sign. Tight lines for 2016.
