I think it was LBH who took regular plywood and coated it with Fiberglass Resin. WHich is a pretty good idea if you search it you can probably find his build.

Jointed Rapalas
I like to fish the jointed the same way as i fish a original floater. Honestly, i like the original floaters better than the jointed ones.

Boat Guide-on's for Trailer - DIY project
My boat that i boat had PVC guide ons and they work fine. except one thing is we drilled a hold in the top of both and ran a bungee across, because when you are pulling the trailer the tubing will slap the side of the boat. Just a suggestion.

Trolling motor problems
Well i tried a different battery and it did the trick, the battery that did work was actually smaller than the original one i tried. I left the one that didnt work on the charger for a couple of hours then it to worked. I think the problem is that the battery can't hold a charge.

Trolling motor problems
well i just called minn kota and they said it is probably not getting enough volts. And if that doesnt help to take it to a service center, my question is, is if a service center will charge me even though the motor is 1 day old

Trolling motor problems
I bought a Minn Kota Maxxum Transom Mount 55 LB. thrust yesterday. Today i mounted it on the boat and hooked it to the battery and the prop wouldnt spin. i played with the controlls and i had to go up real slow and the prop would spin very slowly and when i tried to speed it up it would die. The battery tester on the motor says the battery has a full charge. im i not getting a good connection? OR is it the battery? the battery is a cheap deep cycle we took off my dads boat when he got it. I didnt put it in water while trying to use it, Does the water lubricate it? Help Thanks

another trolling motor question
Well i have another trolling motor quwstion. i bought the boat i posted about a while ago, today. and i am only going to be able to use a transom mount. so i am thinking about the minn kota maxum in a 55 lb. thrust. the boat is a 15 foot center consol boat its alluminum shallow v, its bow and stern are decked with pedistal seats. the floors are all aluminum and stainless.it has a 40 horse johnson on it. im not sure on the weight of the boat. But with this information how long will one deep cycle batterry last for one day with the maximizer? Also when buying the trolling motor is all the wiring to the battery included? I think i will buy a everstart deep cycle from wal mart probably size 29.\ thanks

is foot control that important?
I think i am going to go with a foot controll. i was looking at the motorguide pro sereis but i think im going to go with a minn kota edge because it seems there is a lot of problems with MG mounting system.

follow up to foot controll
my follow up question is has anybody used the MOtorguide Pro sereis? it is the cheapest foot controll. i can find. it is cheaper than a minnkota hand controll of the same thrust. im wondering if it is just that.. cheap :-/

is foot control that important?
I'm buying a Trolling motor for my boat and posted earlier as to what size, (it is a 15 ft crestliner v bottom aluminum boat with a 40 hp johnson) and i was told 40-50 pounds. Minnkota sells a 55# bow hand controll for the same price as their 45# foot controll bow mounts. So the question is wether foot controll is that much better. ive never used either so im asking the boards wether the convenience of a foot control is that much better than a hand controll. Thanks

bought my first bought
I'm buying my first boat, it is a 15 ft. crestliner with a 40 h.p. johnson electric start. it has sort of a center consol with a casting deck in the front and back with pedistal seats. it has a livewell and lots of storage. the boat is an aluminum v-hull. I want to get a trolling motor for it, i want a bow mount i dont mind getting hand control, but what would you reccomend for #s of thrust. I know everyone says buy the best you can get but im only 15 so i have to still buy a vehicle. i am wondering if a 40# would be suitable. It is great having a part time job and having no expenses, i dont drive and i live at home Thank you

scope for a .22
I would also reccomend a 3-9 but i dont know if i would put a leupold on it . The scope would be more than the gun. I also wouldnt recomend a Tasco they are very cheap usually plastic. Right now on my .17 i have a bushnell 3-9. which i really like. i would go to Gander Mountain or whatever Sporting Goods store and talk with them.

How to get sharp hooks?
I bought a Berkeley electric sharpener and that thing is a piece of crap. I'm going to go buy just a stone. Some baits you can't replace the hook like a Johnson Silver minnow ;D

what lure to use during rain
Right before it is about to rain, while its raining, and right after its done i like to use topwater baits. I also like to use a Rapala orignal floater and twitch that on top and swim it real shallow.
