Revo SC?
You probably got it pegged better than Customer Svc @ Cabelas when I called this AM to ask them about it. They just knew it was their "exclusive" reel offer, nothing about the tech stuff. Think I'm gonna wait til local bait shop gets them in next week so I can get hands on it. Tight lines...Papa

Revo SC?
Anyone seen/used/heard of ...Cabela's Revo "SC"...&XML combo deal? I'm trying to find out why they're the only retailer with the SC available. Good deal @ $200 IMHO-IF I could just find out the differences between it and the other 3 Revos.??!! Lower end REVO maybe? hep me....Papadew

BC combo competition and opinions
Cabelas has the newest version of the REVO, (the SC 7:1) on a Cabelas XML rod for $200 and the Citica combo same price, but online. BPS has the Citica/Extreme @$170. Not heard any feedback on this new Revo, but the other Revos are well reviewed. How would you shop it, the reels or the rod & reel both. I haven't used any of the rods either, so I'm totally in the dark. Sounds tempting. BTW, the Citica 200 is in BPS lineup @$140 on a bionic blade as well, but the 200 is heavier/larger. Like mag brakes on Revos better than pin brakes.....Bait Monkey and cabin fever's killing me. Papa

Chronarch MG50 vs Scorpion 4vs
I can buy Scorpions overseas from board sponsors for <>$80 diff than the MG50. Other than BIG weight advantage of the MG, and the BIG advantage of the external brake adjustment of the Scorpion, which reel would you guys buy? Wouldn't it be nice if the MG had ext brake adj? Papadew

set-up for minnow fishing
What's the best line, hook size/type, weight, swivels, etc for dragging live minnows in cold weather? I fish mostly rocky highland reservoir for smallmouth. Does spinning tackle work better than BC's with clickers? Rod action?...Thanks---Papadew

Basscenter is cancelled.
I gave up when ESPN showed jump rope contests, spelling bees, 24/7 bike racing, etc. I only watch Bassmasters if I can find it in the line-up. ESPN is about the most ignorant bunch of people I've ever seen try to program their network. TV in general actually. Reality shows? Eating guts, eyeballs, whatever, is supposed to be entertaining? To whom, Jeffrey Dahmer? Gag a maggot off a gut wagon, and puke a buzzard to death! Rant over, please continue. PapaDew

Under-cover contest winners
As the late country comedian and Christian speaker once said, "98% of our young people are good, but you only seem to hear about the 2% that are bad." Good to hear of some of the good 98% for a change! Amen?...

night fishing in stained/muddy water
Buzzbaits @ dusk didn't get a strike. As for the C-rig, wellllll, let's just say that regardless of the name and that i'm fishing in Lake James, NC....the "Carolina" rig, for me, does not produce. I throw it for an hour or two on deep points where I mark fish and know they're there, and ZIPPO, NADA. I can't remember EVER catching a C-rig fish on this lake and danged few anywhere else for that matter. By the book, tricks, tips, etc, and ZERO. Sniff-Sniff. Guess I've just lost the drive/focus/intelligence or whatever the hell it takes. Others do well deep on it, however, hence my deeeep depression. Tight lines, Papa

night fishing in stained/muddy water
Yea, threw it Sat nite also....no takers. Stormy afternoon/nitetime and showers have kept me off the water. Too foggy to get there this AM. Mama Nature is a ******, huh? Papa

Fishing Something Different
Hey RW...I remember Robo wms. They were supposed to be "hot." Ran all over the state to find 'em. Best I remember, I've NEVER caught the first bass on one! Wore my arm out. Wish I had all the money I've spent on "hot baits" that never produced, don't you? Of course I fish one of the toughest lakes anywhere. BTW, how's that yozuri extra soft line holding up? Papadew

night fishing in stained/muddy water
Thanks for input. I guess I'm getting burned out & lazy anymore. I just try a coupla baits and if no takers, I give up and leave. They bite for about an hour and quit. Fish 2 hrs w/o bite, but don't really try any other baits usually. Dead Sea fishing is getting borrrriiiiinnnngggg! I'd like to fish on some of Bill Dance's pits fer a change! Cast, set the hook, & crank 'em in. Yep, lazy me. I promise tonite to get it on and throw my blk s/b's, but the jig bite has been non-existent this summer for most I've talked to. The Frog trailer intrigues me though, think I will try that. Haven't thrown a Sickle tail type worm in ages...but will. The jitterbug will definitely be tied on. You're right Raul, they WON'T chase anything. BTW, the Scorpion is worth the $$$, BUT, since I went back to using 1/4 oz bullet sinkers, the backlashing on the CU100's has been eliminated. I was throwing baits too lite for the rod/line combo evidently. Will post results later...Papa

night fishing in stained/muddy water
Fishing last nite was tougher than usual. Then I noticed the water on Lake James' Catawba side was heavily stained. Debris field meant idling around. My Q is - what baits would work under these conditions with 84 degree water temp? Cranks/rattletraps didn't produce a strike. 6 fish came off worms in brush. Any suggestions> Papa

Just a comment on this site
Does anyone on this board write for any publication that would be of interest to bassin' types? This site alone is awsome, but just curious if we're posting with others with additional info to be gained. After all, Uncle Homer ain't the only one who's fished for 100 yrs or more!....Papadew

On board charger problem
Actually did have a drain on C batt at first, front livewell switch was on but problem didn't go away after I turned it off. I'll disconnect everything but the o/bd chgr and see if it goes to green. I'll turn on the running lights to get the C batt to drain enough to go back to red, and then reconnect o/bd chger and see if it goes to green. If it does, I'll just have to look until I find the drain I suppose! BTW...this is the most useful and fastest website for help that I've ever hooked up with...Thanks, Papadew

On board charger problem
My on-board 2-bank chger won't go to green on the cranking battery (maint free) even tho the other bank chgs tm batt fine. Switched em over and did the same way. Dealer where I bought batt tested it thouroughly with no probs showing up. I can upplug onboard chger then hook up portable 10 amp chgr for 10 mins to C batt and the light for C batt WILL go to green THEN. Its like it can't shut off charging batt without zapping it with portable charger. Dual Pro has tried to help but prob persists. Any ideas? Papadew.

Trolling Motor - Overheating ?
If your tm plug has crimp connectors, go to a soldered connection. You lose amps with crimp-on connectors. I nearly replaced my tm when it started running really sluggishly. Ran better than when it was new when I soldered the plug in wires and eliminated scorching heat at crimp connections as well. Make dang sure your wire size for the pig-tail connector is not too small also because it will also overheat like hell. Papa

It's Official..My fishing sucks!
I'm evidently in the same boat with you so far this year. After reading above posts, I remembered back to the mid '80's when Lake Jordan in NC was opened to fishing. 200+ bass per day was nothing uncommon. I actually got "bored" catching cookie cutter bass! 10-13 inch fish would take your rod under the boat! Strongest for their size I've ever caught. There was no challenge, but it was fun for awhile. Now you really gotta "FISH" hard to get a few fish at this lake, but the size is altogether much bigger now. It's like deer hunting in the wild vs shooting penned-up deer I suppose. Hang in there. May is usually a much better time to pattern them after the spawn. Papa

Mike Iaconelli
I'm pretty much of an old f**t who's lost most of my enthusiasom about most everything. Wish I could get a transfusion of Mike's enthusiasom. I remember a few years back when Fish Fishburn was thought to be over the top. Look where it got HIM! Not to shabby. If you don't toot your own horn and say look at me, then you might miss getting selected for something great. MY .02. Papa

WANTED: GPS for dummies
Now Glenn, don't start re-confusing me with all this link/thread/post stuff. I'm just gonna concentrate on GPS for now and will post individual Q's here on BBCT, if it's all the same. Papa (ain' t 'puter literate neither) Dew

WANTED: GPS for dummies
OK folks.....got the video for the eTrex. It removes the mystery. Guess I'm so old now that pictures work better. I'll be alright if I do get lost @ nite on Norman. I mean there's a house every 100 ft after all. Thanks to posters and this great website. It's now my #1 go-to fishing board. Papa

New thread/GPS for dummies/
New thread per Glenn.....Hey oilpig, per last msg/lesson, if you go around a long main lake point and head down the other side, you should enter waypoints to bring you back around it instead of getting straight line backtrail across the point (dry land) itself, right? Papa
