  3. how do you get the line to stop twisting when using a dropshot? it sucks after like 20 casts its gets all loopy and tangled. i thought of using a swivel but seems like it might hurt the action
  4. thats it! except mine is all black
  5. ok i just got my 3:16 baby wake in and now im wondering what the best way to use these, more so any better places to throw them than others?
  6. you boat sounds like its running dead on how it should. your rpms are pretty much right on so a prop really wont help... maybe a hydrofoil?
  7. here in NJ, fish are pressured more than any state in the US probably. were the most populated state in the us i believe. its near impossible to get on the water anywhere ever and not see at least 1 or 2 other boats on the water and sometimes 20 or more besides you. this is not counting days with tourneys going on. also remember now that our biggest lake here is 2600 acres and most lakes are in the 50-500 acres range. our lakes are POUNDED harder than a girl in a window in Amsterdam lol but they still produce fish constantly. on top of this the few lakes with the most tourney pressure also produce the biggest bass. so no i dont believe it shortens their life inless the people are carless. hate the rude not the fisherman
  8. well im after the 6'6" heavy action spinning rod. my dad refuses baitcasting gear but wants a heavy rod for rippin big bass outta weeds like a flippin stick. its the only affordable heavy spinning rod i can find

  12. anyone have a link to a guide for cleaning and maintaining reels both baitcaster and spinning? i have some decent equipment now and would like to keep them going smooth.
  13. i got myself a hummingbird 565 and got started on the install last night. im wondering can i use the original transducer for the trolling motor? i remember hearing somewhere that your supose to get a special transducer for the trolling motor bracket.... anyone know if i can use the original on a trolling motor bracket? hoping to get this thing up and working for sunday.
  14. havent had luck with the cheapys yet but im currently waiting for a nice 3:16 baby wake to be made for me. 45 bucks but i cant wait!
  15. nice, not as fat as i would like but i might give them a try! big bait=big fish hehe GMAN, del molds is working on a triple wide beaver mold he had, im waiting for some results but its a possibility, youd have to pour your own but the mold is 160 bucks
  16. anyone know of any large creature baits? something over 5" and that has some body to it, not a big worm. im currently using double wide beavers but wanna try something else.
  17. i just got a new pitching/flipping setup. a 7'6" heavy johnny morris BPS flippin stick w/ a shimano curado DHSV 7:1. spooled with 50lb spiderwider or powerpro. i also used Pline CXX 20lb but i like braid better. im usually fishing heavy weeds and wood so its a little diffrent than what your doing. anyway just turn off all the brakes and just keep the tension knob loose and learn the thumb control. its all thumb control.
  18. cool, cant wait to hear back
  19. well as it is now i we use a 6/0 ewg hook, i think it might accommodate a larger version still. the 5.2 is an awesome flipping bait and i think some really big hogs will come on a larger one because i am able to catch bass 10" long on the double wides so i can only imagine what a 8lber could eat lol
  20. gman, i see what your saying about adding sections to it but that would only solve the length problem, id like the bait to be larger in proportion width wise not just length
  21. i dont really wanna learn how to do it myself but i want to find out if theres any way to get custom soft plastics made? heres my deal. i want a knockoff version or the sweet beaver but alot bigger.. if you familiar with the double wide beaver its 5.2 inches long, i want what you might call a triple wide beaver. nuttin diffrent just bigger. maybe 6.5" long. some tips on how to get this done would be appreciated.
  22. well i normally wouldnt spend it but i came into a bit a cash so i said why not. in nj we dont get to many bass over 5lbs
  23. no no no, im not that crazy the big ones are like 200 i got the baby wake which is only 45 bucks
