Hapatcong & Lake X 5/25/07
Me and fellow member WhiteMike got together friday for a LONG day of fishing total of 15hrs on the water. fished from sun up till sun down lol. we went to the biggest lake here in NJ to try out luck on bigger water. got out and picked a cove and found the fish to be holding in cabbage. i hooked up with about 4 bass 2 pickeral and a couple tiny rock bass and a perch. mike had a tuff day. his reeel lost all its line on the way up and kept loosn em or missin the hookset one of those bad days i guess. anyway fished till 2pm when the pleasure boaters drove us nuts with waves so we split and hit my little Lake X honey hole. found. found he fish mostly deep in weeds. i lost 3 really nice fish probably 3 or 4lbs+ cause my rod just didnt have enough in it for fishing heavy cover. mike missed one or two but finally hooked up and sgtarted pullin in pickerl one after another lol i think he got about 4 and missed a few. i cought a couple bass includeing a nice 4lber thanks for the net mike ;D anyway is was a cool day had fun and we probably learned a few things. Dont worry mike youll have a better next time out the bad days only make you better. heres the pics

Baby Rabbits in yard...
i have babies every year my dog killed 2 once, i felt so bad. i was sitting there and she was sniffing around. then like 1 min later i hear a scream like you cant believe and its the baby rabbit flying around in my dogs mouth. i ran over and stopped her but the rabbit died. uhg i get a turned stomach thinking about that rabbit scream now 3 years later still. anyway the others in the hole lived i put them back in the nest and they are still around. today. just leave em be and try to keep the cats away best u can

When and why to choose what?
ok heres my scenario i get to the lake. i always have my spinnerbait on usually a crank, sometimes a jig but them i choose a soft plastic. and my problem arises. i have worms, beavers, senkos, ikas. how do i choose what to use. especially the beavers vs worms i use both weighted but i can never decide what id rather use or why? how should i choose? yeah i agree my fish are never exhausted. if i need a min for a pic i keep them in the livewell to keep them breathing and spunky then get em right back

This disgusts me...
i call them guys a waste of life. they look like a bunch of morons to me. uhg if they ate everything they killed fine but to kill all those fish for no reason other than sport is stupid and ridiculous in less the waters had an over population and actually needed it. oh and mike i dont believe spearfishing is allowed in NJ. good thing to id be ticked to see that also. if it was me id love to just find the big fish and see them maybe get an underwater camera and just see them living in there own habaitat. whats the point of shooting all of them really. not much of a challenge swim up and shoot em.

help finding fish in this lake?
yeah i do have the lake figured out pretty well but at times it gets to me. thing is i fished it like 15 times last year and i never came up with 1 bass over 2lbs. this year im 3 fish over 4lbs. but the weeds are growing up fast there and i think my problem is my limited access to some of these spot due to such thick weeds. and i dont want to find myself lost once they are in full bloom again. im also catching nice fish in spots i never seen any life in last year. thats what also gets me :-?

help finding fish in this lake?
well theres a couple steep drops i know of that start about 10 feet off shore usually at the edge of the weeds/pads. i will work those area good but they are small and the rest is pretty basic and no real structure. i do have a map and it shows nuttin but a big bowl and the drops i already know about. my plan was to located the deeper weedlines this year and use marker bouys, towards the top end they will be close to the surface till about 10ft then drop down

help finding fish in this lake?
ok i have this small lake i love to fish. it holds some really nice bass and its very unpressured. my biggest came out of it and ive been doing really good this year so far there fishing spinnerbaits in the emerging weeds. lake is about 40 acres and its a big oval bowl. 30ft in the middle and some shorelines are good drops. but the lake is basically lilypads or weeds all the way around. the one end is slightly shallower like 15ft up to 3ft and the weeds just grow thick and to the surface. i fished the place all last year the biggest goin 3.5lbs but this spring i got a 5 and 2 4's among other nice fish. what im wondering with endless weeds and stuff all over how do i find the fish in them its like picking a needles in a hay stack. what can i look for to find em cause im sure the big girls hide in all the weed cover somewhere

Aluminum vs. Fiberglass
im in NJ not to far off from you and i just got my first bass boat a bass tracker pro team 165 aluminum. im very happy. i would have to say if its your first bass boat get the aluminum as a starter boat to learn. i will eventually get either a bigger aluminum or a fiber boat down the road but now i have a good learning platform. PA has big lakes? what big lakes are you refering to because only thing i can think of would do an aluminum great.
