I have 15 pound flouro on and I plan on pitching/flipping this weekend.

Why not? It sounds like a decent worm, fluke, light pitching/flipping rod too.

The bait monkey has personally told me that fish will only bite on G. Loomis NRX rods with Shimano Stella reels. Okay, I kid...I kid...

My little one shares the same passion for bass fishing as I do. For a 6 year old she displays a lot of patience. In fact, there's times when we're not catching that she has more patience than me. Last weekend was special. After reeling in a few fish for dad she really was complaining about not catching one on her own. Then it happened, she said "Dad I got one". I gave her my usual response, "I'm sure it probably just weeds Ava" and then she said the magic words as she had listened to me before. "No dad I can feel it swimming". She was sure right and got to catch one all by herself displayed in the excitement of the top photo. For those of you dads with girls who are hesitant to take them fishing, girls can fish too **Edit- One more special part of the story she didn't catch that fish on a Barbie pole or even a Zebco push button reel. She caught it on a Stradic spinning reel and a 7'1" spinning rod that I had taught her how to cast that morning.

I'd say based on CS previous reputation I'd go with the Enigma rod

Let me add something easy that you could use your 3 awt hooks for. Get a few packs of Zoom Flukes in a few different colors. Another easy bait for beginners is a Mepps spinner.

If you're fishing really clear water I would suggest a 6-8 pound fluorocarbon leader about 6' in length. Don't be afraid of line to line knots. I stubbornly stayed with straight fluorocarbon because I didn't want to learn how to tie the double uni knot. But I'm so glad I learned.

Also check with @A-Jay and see how he fishes those situations in northern Michigan lakes. They are very similar in how they drop off.

My buddy likes Abu Garcia reels but he's had nothing but problems including sending several back. Personally, I like Shimano reels myself. Either the FK or the CI4 would make a great reel. But there are many in various price ranges that get good to great reviews. Daiwa is another line to look at also. As far as the rod look into the Dobyn's Fury mentioned above or also Daiwa Tatula is a great rod and can be found online for significantly less than the asking price. Good luck.

Keep in mind a drop shot rod for a dedicated set up also.

I put an Avid in the cart and it knocked it down to $170. But I agree that not everything is on sale.

I don't own any spinning models but I have 2 casting rods and I see them recommended alot- Dobyn's Fury probably the 703.

I have the new GLX and had the old one. I like the new one quite a bit more. Apparently the upgrades for the IMX and GLX have suited them well.

What model of Dobyns do you prefer? I mean like DX, Champion, Sierra, Fury??
