  1. are u and burley comparing kistlers to the extremes or crucials to the extremes.i have never said the extreme is the same league rod as a kistler mag,i was comparing the extreme to the crucial in which i dont need either of your opinions as i own both and have used both. I misspoke. Replace "Magnesium" with "Crucial" and I still stand with the statement. And why you are comparing a Crucial to an Extreme in a thread about Carrot Stix or Magnesiums is beyond me.
  2. Saturday at 1 or 2 is best for me. I need to go to Bass Pro to spend a gift card but other than that I don't care where I end up...
  3. There is any easy way to solve this argument. Go to a BPS and pick up comparable models of Extremes and Magnesiums. I think most people will agree with Burley and I.
  4. Yeah, that little end scene was the funniest part of the whole movie.
  5. Then your book is wrong. I wasn't gonna say anything but my Magnesium telescoping flipping stick makes my Extreme telescoping flipping stick feel like a broomstick.
  6. I just bought a Magnesium Flipping stick and I love it so far. It has a really great tip that is soft enough to use for frogs as well. I have never used a Carrot Stick but I can say I really like my Magnesium.
  7. How about Ole Miss destroying Texas Tech? Makes me curious to see what the other offensive powerhouses in the Big 12 are going to do in their games...
  8. How much do you want to spend? If you want to spend less than $75, go for a Pflueger President. If you want to spend less than $100, go for a Pflueger Supreme or Shimano Symetre. (The Supreme is lighter, but I believe the Symetre might have the edge in durability and smoothness) If you want to spend $100-$150 get a Daiwa Tierra. If you want to spend $150-$200 get a Shimano Stradic.
  9. I'd be interested in hearing more about that. :-?
  10. I say crust also. If the crust is too crunchy or doughy it ruins it for me. We have a small chain pizza place that makes pies with provolone cheese. It is a refreshing change from the traditional mozzarella every once in a while.
  11. Yeah, I use my Citica D for everything from 3/8oz jigs to 3/4oz jigs and even 1-1.5oz lures. I almost NEVER make adjustments to the settings.
  12. You may have to adjust the reel when you switch from lighter lures to heavier ones or vice versa but it won't be as much of a problem when you get better at thumbing the spool as you cast.
  13. Get the President and the Premier, that's a great combo for the price. Personally, I don't like fluorocarbon.
  14. Call Larry Mitchell up and talk to him about what you want. He was very helpful. They have a lot of options and great prices.
  15. Yeah, it probably would but I'm brand loyal. ;D
  16. Yeah, I do to. That's pretty much why I ended up going with a custom rod. I couldn't find a mass produced "murdered out" rod in my price range. I only wish I could afford a Core to match it with. Oh well, I think the black handle and spool of the Citica E will match well.
  17. thanks, and yeah, that's what I thought.
  18. Oh, alright, I gotcha. So people keep bidding to win so they don't lose money for nothing. I can see how you could very well end up buying an item for MORE than it retails.
  19. But you aren't paying all of that $200 in bid fees, right? So you could technically get a good deal? Seems sketchy though, I would avoid it.
  20. I got a new Gblank rod for Christmas but it didn't arrive until yesterday. It is a Batson RX7 6'9" Medium/ F-XF rated for 8-12lb test. I plan to use it for shakey heads, flukes, t-rigs, and weightless senkos. $125 + $20 shipping I am extremely happy with how it turned out. It is beautiful and very light. I plan to match it with a Citica 201E. i
  21. Wow, what town is it near? I've heard of it but never fished it.
  22. Oh ok. It meets with the South River in Port Republic to make the South Fork. I believe it is the larger of the two.
