Here are the coordinates for that part of Bull Run. 38.803464,-77.449665 Copy and paste them into google maps and you can get directions. It is easier to get their going southbound on 28 because the turn is a little hard coming northbound. If you are going South on 28, the right turn is after the Compton Rd. intersection, look for a bridge and turn off right BEFORE the bridge to get to a little parking area. If you are coming from the South on 28 going North, the turn will be after Yorkshire Ln. Keep an eye out for the bridge and take the first left after you cross the bridge to get to the parking area.

  3. Isn't it insulting to call a NCO sir because they work for a living? Congradulations! Allen Aka 1LT/02E Ragland NCO corp trader. 8-) I didn't mean it like that, I used "sir" because he is older than me and he deserves my respect for what he does.

    looks like it.
  5. Glass was much harder to make in large sizes? Anyway, yeah, it's a great show, can't wait for this week's.
  6. There are obviously some deleted posts here so I don't know what really went on. I don't care who thinks what of who, I have no problems with anyone and I don't think anyone has problems with me. I think we should forget about who takes who where and who left and in what way, it doesn't matter! All I can say is this: Today was the first time I have EVER fished with someone who cares about it as much as I do, let alone a GROUP of guys that feel the same way. You have no idea how nice that is, to not have to worry about tying knots for people or show people texas rigging for the 10th time, or have someone launch a $6 lure of yours into a tree because they won't listen to your casting advice. I had a blast and I didn't even get bit... The point is this: I had a great time and I would like to continue fishing with all of the guys I met today. I'm sure everybody has plenty of information to share and I hope that I can share something useful with you guys. Is there really anything to get so worked up about?
  7. yeah, is there something we should know about L-B-F?
  8. I saw a similar story before about a sturgeon jumping and almost killing a guy on a jet ski. What are the odds of that happening?!?
  9. I believe the SHimano rebate does NOT apply to online auctions. You can buy Citicas from *** for $119 and get the $30 rebate to make the total cost $89. That's only $3 more and you are sure to get great customer service.
  10. wow, very impressive, especially the perch one.
  11. I've been watching some footage of flooding on TV, it looks unbelievable. I hope you and your family are safe and dry. 12" of rain is just crazy, I can't even imagine. The Southeast could still maybe use something like that though.
  12. WELL DONE SIR! What type of added responsibilities does that promotion have?
  13. Barring some unforeseen mishap or alarm clock failure, I will be there. I may be a little late though. J, I did mention the jon boat but I don't think I'll have a car that I can put the jon boat on. The only way I have to transport it is on top of a car and I'm going to be driving a Ford Taurus because my parents will need the van. The taurus' roof is too small to fit the boat on so I can't bring it. Anyone bringing a camera? I think it would be good to take some pics of a NoVA bassresource get together, and maybe some fish if we can manage some. ;D
  14. I thought it was pretty good too. I don't like how they are playing it all day though...
  15. I always thought the label on fishing products was pretty silly. "Warning: This product contains lead, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm." Does that mean as long as I'm not in California the lead is safe? :
  16. I made the same switch at the 6lb mark before I found Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft. I don't know what you should look for J, I'm just learning baitcasting as well and haven't fished any topwaters. For spinning topwaters I use Yo Zuri but I also liked the Trilene XL, it casts much better than XT and I don't feel like the extra thickness really helps all that much.
  17. Glad to hear the excellent news!
  18. there is a left hand model, the CI201D. I was looking at both of these reels as well but I think the rebate for the Citica is making me lean towards the Shimano side. I also have a gift card so I could get the reel for $65. I would appreciate any information on these reels as well.
  19. The Calcutta is a bit out of my price range. I was thinking more like a Citica 201D. How would that do for jigs and some lighter swimbaits?
  20. yeah, be careful, sometimes rebates don't apply to online auctions. The Shimano Reel Deal rebate for example doesn't work for auctions.

  22. You should still be covered by St Croix on the warranty. I know their higher priced rods have lifetime warranties but I believe the Premier has a pretty solid warranty as well...See what Dick's will do but if they don't help you, contact St Croix, I've dealt with their customer service once before and they were excellent.
  23. NAFTA.... Yeah, NAFTA removes trade regulations that would make production overseas more expensive. The idea is to let the market do its own thing without restrictions, as a result, companies move their production to where they can take advantage of cheap labor and American workers lose their jobs. It makes production cheaper which profits the companies but it also makes stuff cheaper (sometimes at the cost of quality though) But it's not just NAFTA, lots of places in Asia like China, Korea, and Taiwan have really lenient trade policies because it helps them by bringing in foreign investment. They want to make it cheap for Nike to make shoes in Taiwan so that Nike will create jobs and income for the Taiwanese people. It's a double edged sword: either you can let the market do what it does and companies will chase lower costs and increased profits and create cheaper goods at the cost of American jobs OR you can restrict the free market with trade regulations that force companies to keep production local to preserve American jobs at the cost of cheaper goods. The companies have so much lobbying power that it's pretty easy for them to get the trade restrictions to benefit them. That's the difficulty of the problem, corporations' ability to lobby politicians to create policies that benefit them. But it's also the lobbyists and governments in foreign countries that are doing the same.
  24. I just saw them on ***.com for anyone who is interested...
