Shad/Herring on the Rappahannock!
I saw many people catching loads of shad from Old Mill Park along the Rapp last year. Lots of bank fishing there.

Ric Flair
Nah, it's real. Real refreshing to realize how normal I am. Real funny too,...... for about a minute while I look for the remote. : For me, the whole wrestling scene is like testosterone for show, which only reminds me of big idiots in bars that wanna fight everyone and anyone. Real winners. Now UFC,.....That's a bit different, lol. No sticking my chest in your face, No posing,...flexing your muscles and calling out other actors,...calling them out to what? A fake fight???? No,...UFC, you put up or shut up,....Leave your halloween costumes and "I am a God" pre-fight speeches at home,... I agree. I just don't really see the appeal.

Not impressed with Trilene XL
yeah, I use XL for my spinning gear in light line situations. I switch to more abrasion resistant lines like the XT or Pline cxx when I get into heavy duty stuff.

Burke area anglers
at Burke, you have to launch from the public ramp by the dam at night. The other entrances are all closed and they will try to ticket/tow you for parking in the other areas.

Burke area anglers
just a bit of advice: if you fish Burke at night, make sure to take a flash light. That place gets DARK

New Rod, Citica or Revo S to match?
I know their have been plenty of threads about the Revo's lately but I need some specific comparison before I pull the trigger on the new reel. I just ordered a 7'6" MH telescoping BPS Extreme rod. I mainly want to use it as a flipping stick with maybe some small swimbaits and big spinners seeing some action. I am torn between the Revo S and the Shimano Citica. Both are about the same price with the rebates being offered. Which one would go better with my rod and the applications I am going to use it for? This will be my first real baitcasting setup so I also wanted to know if either reel would be more forgiving for a newbie. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Revo S or Citica for jigs?
What about these two reels for throwing swimbaits and big spinnerbaits? How would they do? Would one be more forgiving than another for a beginning baitcaster?

zoom super fluke
yeah, make sure you switch to an Extra Wide Gap hook. I usually use 3/0 or 4/0 for jerkbaits like the fluke. The fluke is a jerkbait which means it is meant to be fished erratically. Try giving it twitches and jerks with the rod tip. I usually cast it out, twitch it or walk the dog across the surface, then let it sink.

pescatarians
my roommate had to take probiotics when he was taking strong antibiotics for a staph infection. The antibiotics were killing his stomach digestion bacteria at the same time they were killing the staph bacteria. He had to get yogurt with the probiotics or else he would get sick Anyways, I couldn't imagine giving up hamburgers, cheese steak, sausages, even chicken

zoom super fluke
one of my favorite baits, I like to fish them the same way as avalon john, especially in shallow rivers for smallmouth.

Can this handle smaller swimbaits
over 7' and XH should be fine to throw swimbaits.

I hate computers
In high school I took a programming class and the teacher was about 70. She had been around since they used punch hole cards to program.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
alright, I narrowed it down to the BPS extreme and the Daiwa -S rods. I ended up going with the Extreme to save the extra cash and I've heard good things about them. Now I just need to order the reel (Shimano Citica 201D) and I'll have my new flippin' and swimbait combo.

Team Daiwa -S Rod
thanks fellas. I ended up going with the BPS Extreme 7'6" MH Telescoping. I ended up getting it for $75 while it was on sale. The TD -S rod was tempting but I figured I'd save the extra money.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
ok, thanks, dave.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
Does anyone know how the BPS Extreme Trigger Rod would compare to the Team Daiwa -S Series? What about the BPS Extreme Woo Daves Signature Series Trigger Rods? Are they any better than the regular Extreme Trigger rods? Anyone know someone who has any experience with these rods?? I have a $25 gift card for cabelas so I'd be willing to spend a little more on the Daiwa but if the Xtreme is similar in quality, I may just get it because it's much cheaper right now and if they aren't that different, I'll just save the gift card and some money.

Team Daiwa -S Rod
Sorry for another thread, I'm just trying to make sure that I can get as much advice on the different rods I'm looking at as I can. Anyone have experience with the 7'6" Heavy Telescopic in particular? (TD-S76THFB) How long is the rod when retracted?
-
2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
ok, 6' should fit into my backseat. Thanks Burley. Now I just have to wait for Cabelas to restock on Citicas so I can use my gift card to get the reel from them and the rod from BPS.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
How do they fit in the car? Do you have to put the back seat down or just fit them in the back seat or through the two front seats? I'm just asking because my back seat doesn't go down to expand the trunk. Also, any brands or model recommendations on the telescopic?

Cabela's Fish Eagle II Casting Rods
are these rods any good? They are the only one I can find that are two piece and come in the length and power that I am looking for. If there are crap I'll keep looking but if anyone has any reviews or experiences with them, it's much appreciated.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
thanks burley, I figured I might be screwed. Any recommendations for 7'6" collapsible rods that won't break the bank? I'm ok with getting a rod a bit longer or shorter as long as I can get it in my car.

2 Piece Flippin' Stick?
I'm looking for a big rod for swimbaits, jigs, etc... Something in the 7' range with lure weights up to 1.5 to 2 oz. I've been looking around a lot and I've been having trouble finding a two piece rod with those specs. I want a two piece because it's hard to fit a rod that size into my small car. Am I gonna have to get a one piece with that kind of rod or are there any two pieces out there?

Pony Pasture May 10th
I'll be done with school but I don't know my summer work plans yet so I don't know if I'll still be in Harrisonburg or in NoVA. I'll find out closer to the date. J, if you are going to Waynesboro, let me know if you want to fish somewhere near Harrisonburg or if you want to meet up some other place. Waynesboro is about a half hour from Harrisonburg.

Most Expensive Set Up
Shimano Stradic on a St Croix Avid. The Stradic was $120 at the time and the St Croix was about $160. I got them both for about $180 total through dealer employee discounts.
