  2. that hook placement on the second picture is just beautiful. It's a great feeling when you stick em right there with a big worm hook.

I think Juliet is being held against her will. It makes sense with her backstory they showed. The company wanted here to come work for them in Portland and then had her ex husband die the EXACT way she joked about earlier. I think the company that wanted to hire her might be related to Hanso and Dharma and maybe she went to work for them and somehow ended up getting assigned to the island and not allowed to leave her work there. As for the girl, I think it is Rouseeau's daughter. Rousseau said she was taken when she was a baby if I'm not mistaken, therefore, I beleive that Ben might have acted as her father as she grew up, taking on an adoptive father role that Alex doesn't know about. She also might have been brainwashed or something...The show is too strange to rule anything out. Speaking of Rousseau, what happened to her? She hasn't been around in forever.
  4. Ask local anglers or bait shop owners, other than that, I usually just look at the lake for structures, probably points, etc...
  5. We had red-light cameras in northern Virginia, but they quit using them a while ago. I think the state didn't want to continue their usage so they don't send tickets anymore. They left the cameras up to scare people, but I don't think they are even on. I know Wash. DC has speeding cameras than can calculate if you are speeding, take a picture, and send you a ticket. My brother has received a ticket from DC from a speeding camera and a red-light camera from my city in Virginia...
  6. I'm not in the insurance business or anything, but I would take lots of pictures.
  7. If you think about it, it's pretty much common sense that a bass would eat crawfish in the easiest way possible. It's just like how they eat bluegills with their spiny dorsal fins, they swallow em backwards so they don't choke.
  8. muddy, why couldn't you get a Pflueger baitcaster?? That way you wouldn't be a defector. Has anyone tried any Pflueger Baitcasters? I am terrified of baitcasting, but I realize I should probably learn and I love my Medalist so I wanna stay loyal to Pflueger.
  9. Here's my advice. Don't go out and buy everything. Pick a category of lure and buy a few and use them until you get the hang of each one. Then buy a different category and do the same until you are comfortable with a variety of lures. The other advice is to read this forum, the articles on the website, watch fishing shows on tv, and read fishing magazines. That is the best way to help you get more fishing knowledge. Then of course, the best way to transform knowledge into fishing ability is to get out on the water.
  10. I also agree. Tony Dungy made a statement about "winning the Lords way" that really impressed me. The other thing that I think is really important is that these guys don't just thank God in their speeches as a cliche, they (unlike most of the other athletes who also thank the Lord) live and coach in ways that reflect their faith. They made a big deal how both guys never raise their voice or curse, and I think that is a testament to the validity of their faith.
  11. 11 with wind chill of 1 here in Harrisonburg, VA
  12. I wanted the Bears to win, but I knew the Colts were a better team, statistically they absolutely destroyed the Bears.
  13. ahahha, we have a sunken grocery cart in our pond too. I usually try to stay away from it. That and the sunken bicycle, even though it usually holds fish nearby. I usually lose plastics on every other trip or so, i seem to lose jigs A LOT for some reason, but I just got a kit to try out so I've got a bunch right now. I've only lost one spinnerbait, and I've probably lost 4 cranks. All of these were in the last year. I like to use heavier line when I use cranks so I can rip them free.

ok, thanks for the suggestions fellas.
  15. I only tried the FLW finesse worms a little bit, but they seemed to have excellent action. My brother caught quite a few fish on them. They smelled a bit like watermelon candy to me...
  16. my brother bought some recently but the lake froze over before he could them. That's a good point about the bedding bass though, good suggestion.

i was looking at those punishers today, i think I might have to get some.
  18. i was just shocked because i didn't think metros were usually fishermen
  19. Dan: replied to Dan:'s topic in Fishing Tackle
yeah, i wasn't sure. I don't really use them. I thought maybe a small craw would work though

i usually use lighter colors in tinted water too, might want to try them then.
  21. when I first saw Ike outside of a tournament, he was wearing a tight, sleeveless designer shirt, jeans, and large, hollywood style sunglasses with gelled hair. The sleaveless shirt showed his small arms adorned with his interesting tattoos. Ever since then, I haven't really thought of him the same way... :-/
  22. What type of trailers would you guys recommend for hair jiggin' for smallies, if any?
  23. they shouldn't be refusing to sell it at stated price. I think most of the times that happens is from sketchy stores that probably shouldn't be given business (like the previous posts of guys having people hangup on them when they refused to buy add-ons). If that happens, get the BBB involved. But I would say with confidence that if you go to a respectable seller, they will sell at the marked price even if you don't buy add-ons. With the lower prices, you can get a better deal if you can just say no to the add-ons, it's the people who get duped into buying that add-ons that are the suckers, you benefit if you can say no.
  24. yes, but there is also a cliche about judging a book by its cover. You can't just assume they only added a feather, I'll be willing to bet they changed the internal weight system to that of an x-rap or at LEAST something similar.
  25. i dunno, I don't think they'd add the Xtreme part to it if they didn't change it. I'll bet they added the internal balancing stuff that the X-rap has.
