  1. I wonder if that's how terminator got the idea for the Hybrid
  2. I can't quite visualize what this rig looks like...Was there a picture?
  3. I am not sure if it's true or not, but I have heard reports of a high percentage of bass released from larger tournaments dying shortly after they are released. If that is in fact true, then I don't like tournaments (at least until they can remedy that situation) other than that, I have no idea why people would have something against tournaments, unless it's just for the sheer commotion and crowded nature of the larger tournaments.
  4. I chuckled a little. This anti-Hillary stuff isn't really outright incendiary, but I'm not sure how you can say it isn't political.
  5. wow, he's lucky. Normally he could be cited for reckless driving for that speed. But I'm glad he got rewarded for being honest and taking responsibility for breaking the law.
  6. yeah, i almost always see xcalibur lures on sale at Dick's
  7. I like all fishing shows but the ones I have found to be the most educational are Lindner's Angling Edge, Bass Pros, and Bill Dance Outdoors.
  8. As far as I know, Blue Fox lures are used more for trout and musky. That being said, I would think they would come out before trout and musky seasons which from my understanding are late fall, winter, and summer. (As far as I know, I don't fish for musky or trout though so I could be mistaken)
  9. hell's bells by AC DC would be a good one too.
  10. Good job! I like hearing about tournaments in Virginia because I actually have an idea of what and where the anglers are talking about.
  11. I always thought "Green Onions" by Booker T. and the MG's would be an awesome theme song. Not really rock, but I still think it would be cool. Besides, it's also got the Sandlot baseball connection.
  12. that's what I do. If I want to learn stuff about fishing, I ask questions on this site. Once I have learned about what I need, I will go to Dick's or wherever to buy it. I don't need to ask questions, I just need supplies.
  13. baconstrip, you're post makes absolute sense to me.
  14. sucks about your fish man, but that's really nice of you to have wanted it to be yours instead of your buddy's. What's with the covered up background?
  15. wow. That is incredible! You can definitely see that they have the same markings. Did you catch it in the same area? Bait? That's too bad she had less in her belly when you caught her, but sheesh, that's incredible.
  16. that's exactly what I've heard.

I've had similar experiences skillet. When the fish are close to the bank, a lot of times it really can make a difference to stand away from the edge and wear a neutral colored shirt to blend with the background.

I was just saying last night how it's good to have the smell of bass on my hands again.
  19. I typically use a spinnerbait or crank for my primary search baits, but if you are set on using plastics to search, you could try a carolina rigged fluke, lizard, worm, grub, etc...
  20. I agree with the spinnerbait suggestion. Spinnerbaits are pretty easy to fish and they can catch a lot of fish in a lot of areas. I like Booyah brand spinnerbaits.
  21. I hope to start fishing jigs more this year as well. I've only caught one on a jig but I'm focusing on getting more experience with them this year.

I agree with what you're saying but I think a lot of people discount catching carp because they are relatively easy to catch so fishing for them gets dull. I also think that because there is less of a market for selling carp baits because they won't eat the variety of shapes, colors, and hardware that a bass will eat. If companies can't make as many kinds of baits for carp than they can't make as much money so they won't promote carp fishing as much as bass fishing because they can make more by promoting bass. I think it's a shame to discount the fight and size of carp, but I honestly think they can get a bit boring. There is no figuring them out, you just throw some sort of food out there and they come to it and eat it. With bass, you have to take lots more into consideration like water temp, sky cover, frontal conditions, structure, vegetation, forage, bait selection, retrieval speed, etc. THere's a lot more outsmarting the fish and I think people would rather have that challenge than sit and wait for a carp to start tearing line away from your reel.
  23. Those are some beauties alright. And again, excellent photos
  24. looks like a sweet little spot. Is there a little hole there?
  25. you might need to find the drivers manually.
