  1. A big HELLO AND WELCOME!!!
  2. high powered rifles are tikkas and sakos or browning BLRs, revolvers = ruger only Semi auto handguns, Older colts and glocks shotguns, 870 remington all the way.
  3. Mine is a 1988 Fisher. 14ft. 44 in. wide at the stern.... very stable boat, and I love it..... Gonna be fishing from it in my first tournament as a boater, not a sub this weekend at Varner.... wish me luck guys,, well everyone that is not fishing against me that is... ;D ;D ;D LBH, your boat kinda inspired me... but it took a lot of thought and planning and being able to adjust my plan as the build went along... I have total about 180.00 in materials,,, and that included doing some transom work as well. I am very please with how it turned out so far.
  4. When I can afford the pedestal mounts, yes, I will be adding support underneath for them, until then, no. As far as the alum. angle pulling away from the seats, the front pieces are bolted thru and another piece of angle behind it the same length. Adam, will get some more pics this weekend for you, that mount is really kinda cheesy but it works real well. Also, you know you are welcome in my boat any time you want to go.... I am signed up as a lone fisherman for the HVBA series,, so if you want to fish this weekend let me know. still having issues with my camera, the camera memory card will show the pics on the camera, but when I plug it into the computer, there is nothing there,, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I have finished pictures of the boat on there, as soon as I can get them off the camera, will post them for everybody.
  5. See my post from this morning MY Jon boat build.... I included lots of pics.
  6. Yea, I can get up on it and dance,, lol,, and i am a 300 lb. guy,, no give at all.
  7. OK guys, as promised for a week or two now, here is my boat build, or at least the structural part of it, having issues with my camera, so will post the rest as soon as I can.
  8. I built my deck at the level of the seats,,, so they actually became part of the decking... that way you still have the larger casting deck but less weight than building over the top of the seats..... as far as removing the seats, I agree with what the others have stated,, you are messing with hull integrity, unless you can contact the manufacturer, and they tell you you can do it with out compromising your hull.
  9. Man, that is all you got LBH????? I was thinking you had something real bad, ,, lol That is no worse than dealing with a buddies gut shot deer.
  10. most definately,, get about a 120 qt. cooler, and a aerator or live well pump, wire to your battery thru a switch, and you are good to go..

I guess I am guilty of over using them.... especially in a post yesterday.. I did not realize they slowed the site down, I join avid in this and will abstain as well.... Muddy, they are your trademark in your posts for sure, and I think everyone got caught up in them..... You keep me for one smiling and spitting liquid on my computer screen with your wit and humor.... I appreciate that...(even if my wife doesnt)

Although I am a heretic in the south, and can not stand Nascar.... I have followed Mark Martin for years, what I could read in the paper or on the net... I would have to pull for him IF I really was interested...
  13. I will post some pics tomorrow... right now, i fish by myself mostly, 2 tackle boxes, 5 or 6 rods and reels, a cooler, and 3 batteries and 3 trolling motors....the boat is a 14 ft. Fisher. I have fished 2 people out of it, and it does not seem to affect the batteries or the speed. I am a big guy, and since I ride in front, it seems to be like Fluke has said, it runs better, front heavy.... I do not get near the performance out of it, if I am sitting in the back of the boat.
  14. I am looking for line conditioner,,,, seems no one carries it, unless I just have not figured out where to look,,, also, not to open a can of worms, but is one better than another?????
  15. They are excellent rods for the money, and even better when you get them on sale. I bought a 7 mh spinning rod and I like it so much I am going back and getting a 7 ft. M baitcaster.... they just feel good in the hand, imo, and perform really well.

I just love the song that Milli Vanilli did of..... what??? they didnt sing thier songs??? Lip synched??????? Great,,, where have I been all these years... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D and for you muddy...
  17. I run twin 50s on the back of my 14ft. jon. Each one is wired to its own battery. I can fish all day, and still have juice to get back to the ramp. I am also running a 50 on the bow, it and the depth finder are hooked to one battery.... it lasts all day as well. Now, that being said, tomorrow the boat goes out for the first time since adding the flooring and decking...... We shall see, although I am not going to be out there long, as cold as it is supposed to be here in Ga..... wind chills down in the low teens or single digits winds 15-25 mph.... not my kind of day to be out on Varner,,,,, but I want to see what my boat will handle like in 1. choppy water, and 2. how much the added weight is gonna affect it.
  18. And the congregation said: AMEN!
  19. To bad the Dixie Chicks were not standing in front of it!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  20. I got to the third ? before getting an anurism? lol On a side note, we had a cow growing up that loved beer.... we called her lush...
  21. I just talked the the Manager of the sporting goods at my local WM. The company as a whole is getting out of the gun business according to him. This store was #5 for Wal marts nationwide in gun sales this last year, the other 4 were in TX. He said it is gonna kill his department... but they are continuing to sell fishing and other sporting goods.
  22. ckent, if you give me a day or two,,I will be posting my pics of my 14 ft. jon, I just finished decking, and the support frame work.. I used minimal wood, going with aluminum instead for the structure. I am right at 300 lbs, and I can dance on it, no problems.
  23. Our jon boat tourney season started last weekend,,, rough weather, yep... temps anywhere from the 30s to the 60s one day to the next,,, but we are fishing... but as our Ex(thank God) President was fond of saying,,"I feel your pain"
  24. HAY! U bena peekin ovr my sholdr wile i was a rittin that 2 my swethert????
  25. Guess that depends on where you be living at... You may be iced in, but us from the southern states have been fishing all the time thru this cooler weather..
