I am with Bud on this one.... I saw 3 snakes in the water during our tourney on Varner this last weekend, I immediately left the area, each time.

I love the old school bass fishing guys trying to explain new fangled electronics and stuff.... I think Hank Parker is the funniest to try and listen to as he explains the newest graph on the market.... they get more tongue tied it seems with this new technology than a 15 yr old boy trying to kiss a girl.

Aint that the truth,,,, have used my 5000 series to haul in some big fish over the years, including 50 lb. salmon and even a 75 lb. sturgeon that liked my cut plug herring in the Columbia river. The reels will last forever, all you have to do is a little maintenance once in a while. They just never give up.

I keep a log, including a map of the lake I fished and I mark it up where I caught the fish. It makes for a useful tool.

My wife says I can come up with more excuses for not catching fish than she can for not cooking dinner..... ;D ;D :o :o

I am with Catt on this one. Set the hook immediately and hard. Also, I have increased my hookup on plastics since I went to a 7ft. BPS Extreme MH rod, and a flourocarbon line. The rod I was using was a 6'6" mh I bought from Walmart, I think it is a Daiwa, and it just wasnt cutting it.

It is a sad day when something like this happens. Why people who go off the deep end have to take others with them will be a mystery that may never be solved. Those who have been wounded or have lost loved ones, will have millions praying for them, me included. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Wind has been screaming here in N. Ga. since yesterday. Wind gusts to 40.... we had a few strong T storms, but missed most of it. IT went North.... sorry guys.

Unabasser, I lost my dad 13 yrs. ago. It seems like yesterday. He had become my best friend, my fishing and hunting partner. I still miss him something fierce. However, he is in a better place, and I know that. The pain will ease over time, I promise. Just think about the good times, the vacations, the backyard family barbeques, working on your first car, etc..... It does help. So does prayer. God Bless you and your family going through this trying time. I will say a prayer for you, that God will help ease the pain.

While in Florida for business a couple of weeks ago, I did go into a cigar shop and purchase a couple of Jamaican cigars. For the life of me I can not remember what the name of them were. However, they were sooooooooooooo smooth, it was unreal. If I could remember the name I would order a box for fishing days.... when the wife wont see me smoking them lol...........

if they are real rubber, get a tire patch kit for a bicycle, and patch it, and you are good to go, or use some rubber cement if it is really small, you will just have to reapply it every so often. Otherwise, not sure what you can do other than call Cabelas as was previously mentioned.

I am wondering if anyone makes a device for bow mount tiller motors similar to the foot control motors? So you can just pick the motor up out of the water and lay it down on the deck? Rather than having to reach down, push the release lever, tip the motor up, then loosen the set screw and slide the motor back. Seems someone would have made one by now, but I can not find one.

I have a question for everyone here. How does Positive or Negative thinking affect your fishing trips or tournaments? If you have a negative attitude about a certain lake before you fish it, does it affect the way you approach the day? Or if you lose your favorite lure in the first 30 min??? Likewise, how does it affect your fishing if you are excuse the expression all warm and fuzzy about the fishing trip? I am just kinda curious about this, since someone was talking to me the other day about the force of positive thinking vs. negative.

ummmmm i guess that means my 10/22 with 30 rd. mags is now an assault rifle...

Can we please stop calling these weapons "ASSAULT RIFLES". Assault rifles have selector switches to go to full auto or 3-5 rd. bursts. The weapons we are discussing are SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLES, just like your 10-22 or Mini 14 or Remington 7400 hunting rifle. You have to pull the trigger ea. time you want it to go bang. They shoot the same ammo as "standard" hunting rifles, they just LOOK different. Somehow we are back to the ugly gun debate.

Man, that yellow dust is killing me......... I was in Orlando all last week on a business trip. As we drove into Atl. my nose started running, my eyes started itching. Gonna be rough the next few weeks. However, I caught a lot of fish this time last year. So I am hoping to do the same this year. I actually did my best with buzzbaits splashing through the yellow gunk on top of the water.

That right there is what the anti's want. That kind of thinking.
