  1. Having grown up hunting and fishing the Pacific Northwest, including Mt. St. Helens, all I will say is there are things seen and heard by totally sober, sane men, that can not be explained. I know one guy, who thought he saw a bear behind a log, and having a bear tag, took his shot. The animal disappeared. He went down to get his animal. There was no animal, and the log the "bear" was behind was 7 ft. off the ground, and he was shooting over it as the animal looked at him. I personally have never seen anything like that, but have heard sounds no known animal would make. Who knows, until a hunter actually shoots one and brings it in, we will never know for sure, because video will always be questioned as being a fake. jmo

W1-10, It does not matter how you became afflicted or why. Just know we are all here supporting you and each other no matter what. No one judges you, we just support you and help in any way we can. And we are all better off because you are here posting.
  7. I have caught my share of them, however, they do not keep well. You either have to can or smoke them, they do not last if you just freeze them. However, if you smoke em, then put the fish in a blender with some horseradish, mayo and lemon juice, and spices, it makes one killer sandwich spread : They love to use that hump and the current and fight like a much bigger fish.
  8. Guys, Check this out. :o http://wdfw.wa.gov/do/newreal/recordpink01.jpg http://wdfw.wa.gov/do/newreal/recordpink02.jpg Biggest I ever saw was 5 lbs.
  9. Now, before I begin, I am not trying to rehash an old subject, but stating what I personally found out this past weekend. I have been using BPS Extreme, Bionic Blade, and Tourney Special rods now for a year. I also have been using flourocarbon line. I went fishing with a buddy Saturday, and he let me use first his Pflueger Spinning rod and then his new Falcon spinning rod, both were spun with braid.. We were jig head worm fishing for spots. Price wise they are about the same as the BPS rods. My question is this, is braid that much more sensitive than flouro?? Because, the Pflueger and Falcon rods were more sensitive hands down over the BPS rods. I felt every little bump and bounce on the bottom vs. the BPS rods. I am ready to sell every BPS rod I own and buy Pflueger or Falcon.
  10. I am glad that your firearms are ok, all I know is that all my instructors and gunsmiths I trained with and have worked with and for, will not use WD40 for anything, and we train our customers to never use it as well. To many other products out there that work better.
  11. Snakes of any kind and Rats, both will send me running like a little girl..
  12. I guess that rules out TGIF!!!!! : : :
  13. AMEN!!!! Between my brother and I we have owned over a dozen Mustangs, they have never let us down. Easy to work on and the fun factor is HUGE!!!
  14. WD40 actually traps moisture versus keeping it away, therefore you will still get rust and such. Never, Never use WD40 on your firearm or fishing reels, unless you like paying for repairs. Had a man, come in with a Remington 7400. He had sprayed it down with WD40 and put it away the fall before... the bolt was rusted shut on it. I literally had to disassemble the firearm to get the bolt freed up and fixed. I ended up having to replace the extractor and spring, they were completely shot. For firearms, always use a good quality lite lithium grease. Never an oil. The lithium will actually fill in the microscopic pores in the metal and make it slicker than you can believe. Dont believe me, just try it, it will make a believer out of you. It did me.
  15. I did show restraint,, I need a new rifle scope, but did not spend the 450.00 to get the one I wanted. All I picked up was some boots and some Gortex outerwear, However, the wife is getting hers soon, she wants a complete set of sheets and comforter with black bears on it,, she even will go camo if I can find it.. Shocked the heck out of me, lol.
  16. It is the gun's fault just like it is the car's fault when it breaks down from lack of maintenance..... :o I have a harder time keeping people away from WD 40 than Rem Oil,,, especially the old timers, they think WD 40 is the next best thing to sliced bread for some reason....
  17. I spent 1 hr. on the BPS website last night and spent 300.00 in gear for the upcoming elk season,,, man, i am dead when the wife sees the credit card bill.. :'( :-/ :-/ :-[
  18. Gman, I could not agree more. As a trained gunsmith the hardest thing to do is to get a customer to buy quality lubricants for the weapon. I use nothing but a light lithium based grease on bolts, and any moving parts. People will spend hundreds if not thousands on firearms, then they never clean them or abuse them, and can not figure out why they dont work... I have taken apart shotguns worth 3 grand, and scraped more than a cup of greasy sand and grit out of the receiver,, guy could not figure out why the gun quit working, lmao.
  19. somebody call 911 Quick My wife just did,, however, it was for the guys in the white jackets,, :o
  20. Does it have to be stored inside? Most storage areas have outside areas that people park RVs and boats, just cover it with a cover and tie it down good. It has to be less expensive. just a thought
  21. I went out on Jackson Lake here in Georgia, for the first time. My buddy lives right there at the lake and we went out on his Tracker boat. We caught 3 small spots right off the bat on spinnerbaits, the it slowed down so we switched to jigheads and trick worms. We landed 14 more spots and small LM by noon. I landed the big fish of the day, a spot that weighed in at 3.4 lbs. A great day on the lake and I learned some new water, and it was my first time fishing for bass on a large lake.
  22. Have you tried Marine Grade Silicone? I had to repair my transom on my aluminum jon. I had to drill out the rivets on the bottom of the boat and replace them with aluminum bolts when it was time to reassemble. I sealed them with a good coat of Marine Grade Silicone from Walmart for 5.00. It has never leaked since and I have spent a lot of time on the water this year. Heck of a lot cheaper and easier than welding.
  23. I read this subject title to mean,, well never mind,, I am tired... :-[ :-/ :-/
  24. I used to go to every gun show that came around... I would take an empty gun case, and tell the wife I was going to try and sell that rifle "I dont need" anymore.... I would come home with a new gun in the case,, tell the wife I could not sell the gun, and then put it in the gun cabinet...... she never caught on.. : : :
  25. Man, have you been had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is funny! But sad as well..... :'(
