Hunting / Target Rifle
I am a fan of both the .308 and the 7mm-08. Both are excellent calibers, I also love the 257 Roberts. All will knock a deer flat, out to 300 yds. with practice. I have become a fan of the Single Shot rifles as well, the New England Firearms, or the Thompson Contender, to name a couple. Although, Ruger, makes a great bolt action rifle as well, in that price range.

Favorite Shirt quotes
Just saw this one the other day. It is hard to remember the initial objective was to drain the swamp, when you are up to your A55 in alligators! Another one from the Georgia Mtns... I hear banjo music! Paddle Faster! ;D

Right, wrong or indifferent?
Everyone is going to have their own opinions on equipment. No matter what field we are talking about. Take firearms for instance, I love Sako, Tikka, Ruger. You could not give me a Savage or a new Winchester. Someone else may love those firearms.... I am a Ford man, you may be a Chevy person (we call you uninformed) ;D ;D ;D ;D Just kidding.... So, each to their own, and filter the good from the bad and everyone makes their own hopefully informed decision.

I want a GOOD knife. Benchmade, SOG, or?
Go with the SOG. You will never regret the decision. I have a SOG TigerShark Bowie... It has bailed me out of trouble a couple of times in the woods and it is one of two tools(the other being my Ruger Redhawk 44 mag.) I never leave home without, when I am enjoying the great outdoors.

Favorite Shirt quotes
My current one is: "If you dont like my attitude, quit reading my t shirt." Saw this saying on the front of a Tshirt worn by a woman in Helen, Ga. this summer, "My Eyes are not this low on my body." :o

Livewell Cooler
Personally, I use the blue powder that keeps fish alive from BPS. I also will buy a block of ice, not crushed ice and put it in the livewell. It lasts a lot longer, and you can buy a lot of ice for what that device would cost. Or, pump fresh water in quite frequently.

VALUES
Try a 1960 Corvair. Not the hottest car on the road in the early 70's, but parkin sure was fun I'd open up the hood and exclaim Oh no, the engine must have fallen out, we can't go anywhere, so we'll have to stay here for awhile Seems only the blondes fell for that one. By the way, two of my most utilized baitcast rods this year (and fish catching machines at that) were Quantum Tourney's that I got for $15 each at Walmart at the beginning of the season. Try a 1963 Red Volkswagon Bug that had been wrecked on the front end.... However, my dad made up for it. Had to rebuild the motor... ;D ;D WE built that motor to Porsche specs...Broke the Speedometer twice, I went thru a set of back tires in less than 10,000 miles.. Dad took the car away :-[ ;D As for promoting expensive gear.. I have seen this for years in the gun industry.. A guy would rather not eat for a month or so to buy a 1200.00 Weatherby rifle, than to spend 4-500 on a Remington, Winchester, or Browning that will do exactly the same thing... or spend 900-1500.00 on a rifle scope when a 400.00 one will suffice just fine. I never have been one of those guys, and probably never will. I dont want to own a Ferrari or Hummer.. My Fords do just fine for me, and what I want them to do. The most expensive rod I own has not seen water in over 5 yrs. It is a Kunan 9 ft. salmon rod, for drift fishing the rivers in the Pacific Northwest. I paid 150.00 for it 15 years ago. Personally, I like BPS rods, especially the ones in the 50-100 dollar range. They work great, have good sensitivity, and take the abuse I dish out on rods. I use Abu or low end Shimano reels. It boils down to personal preference, and how much money YOU can afford or want to pay.

what Glenn posted on Houston thread makes sense
or how about Charlie Daniels - Simple Man. As I read this post, I found I agree with just about everyone. However, until WE as a society, stand up and let these superstars, celebs, politicians, etc.... know and understand that we are not going to play nice just because of who they are or how much money they have, this type of behavior will continue. It just plain chaps my hide to see a CEO of a major corporation go to a country club prison, because he has money..... He needs to be in a regular prison just like everyone else.. No special privileges, no special visitations, just time to serve. On taking responsibility for your actions,, hmmmmmm where do I start... Kids are taught at an early age, oh its not your fault, it is societies fault or the schools fault, or the governments fault. Heck, you can't even have a scoreboard and a winner and loser in most kids sports anymore, dont want to upset the little ones, give them a complex. This goes a lot deeper than Vick, or Bonds, or anyone else... but the road back starts with each and every one of us. Sorry, will step off the soapbox, next please? :

mattlures bluegill?
Best my partner and I have found so far is an erratic retrieve. Stop, start, fast, slow, etc... warning you though, hang on to your rod... they will hit like a tuna, fast and hard.

Here is a couple for ya... I have lost my mind, can you help me find it? If you were a new hamburger at McDonald's, you would be McGorgeous. If I could rewrite the alphabet, I would put U and I together. Do you have a map? I just keep on getting lost in your eyes. Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see! Was your father a thief? 'Cause someone stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes. Hope these help ya out,, with out to many slaps in the face ;D
