Where would you go hunting?
Does it have to be a hunting trip? Take the money and make a run to El Salto or Baccarac. Just a thought...

Do New Pricing Points + Global Recession = Rebates in 2009?
#1. I have only one reel that cost under $100 and that's my 4 pound ultralite reel. I don't have to justify anything! It's my money, the bills are paid and I love to fish so I buy what I want when I want if I have the cash. #2. I'm not going to downgrade to another rod or reel just because they go on sale. I'll either make do with what I have or save the money to get what I want . #3. Do you use Charmin to wipe your ars or the cheap sanpaper type that is half the price. Good for you... A lot of people have to watch their money. I think that was the point of the OP.

swimbait line?
20lb CXX for everything I have been throwing. Will likely go up to 25lb for the bigger Huds this year.

LOL, you will find out that I am not too picky. As long as it doesnt bite back (or at least bite too hard), I can and probably will eat it. I am down for whatever. I have to see how many people I am looking at before I see what sides I can do, or if the chicken will be it. We'll see soon I suppose.

I wanted to throw this out there... If anyone wants to make a side dish to go along with the chicken cookout on Tuesday, let me know. Whatever you think would go well with pit grilled chicken sounds fine with me. Obviously, we are still waiting on a final count for that meal, so I dont really know how much of a chore you would be signing up for. My ears are open.

CJ, are there any "dont miss" tackle shops around the lake? There is really nothing to speak of in this area and I cant say I have ever been to a really great tackle shop.

I'd like to know which rod you would recommend for throwing very small swimbaits?
I voted for the 7'6" MH/Mod. I like the extra length for casting purposes. The guy that designed the lure recommends using a larger (MH/H) crankbait rod and 15lb fluoro. I have heard that the Spro baits have a tendency to "helicopter," but I have not thrown mine yet and have not personally experienced it. Wayne

REEL MAGIC!
Take a breath. Burley is just messing with ya... Seriously though, take a look at the KVD Line and Lure conditioner. I think you will be very impressed with the results. Lighten up man. Its all good in the hood.

Mattlures Woody
He didnt necessarily compare the bait to anything else, other than saying he worked it where he would typically throw a wake bait. So, I suppose you could gather that yes, it does compare to a Slammer in that it can be used for a wake bait. Obviously, different baits will have different actions and subtle differences. I think Matt's baits are proven and you should feel confident purchasing one (or 5 )

I just PMed Randall about this bait. He speaks highly of them and they are on sale, which makes it even better. I have not used the bait personally though.
