7 foot medium heavy h20 ethos, can't help you on reel but I would use 15# mono. 7:1:1 gear ratio for reel

Because the lews rod is sold separately and the Abu one isn't. The Abu reel has more bearings. I'm probably wrong that's just what makes sense to me

I think the difference is the lews rod is better. The pro max might be a slightly better reel

Looking at either the 40 dollar one or the AST. Is the AST worth the extra money? (70 vs 40)

I was looking at the AST rod by all star. 7 foot medium heavy Carolina rig rod. Are they good rods? I would get an h20 ethos but bluebasser 88 told me the 7 foot medium heavy fishes more like a medium.
