For the first time in our thirty-nine years of marriage, my wife is not cooking dinner. We have been invited to our daughter-in-law's parents for dinner. Usually my wife would bake a large turkey and I would smoke a smaller one (usually a wild one). It doesn't even seem like Thanksgiving here today. Very strange, Falcon

This subject always makes me laugh. So many people think just because you drop a shiner over the side of the boat you're going to catch a big fish. I must admit, some of my biggest smallies have come on large shiners, however can I tell you how many 10" bass took a 4"-5" shiner, or how many times I've been skunked using live bait? 95% of my fishing is done with artificial bait, however when my Baja leaves my seawall, I'm out to catch fish, if it takes live bait to catch them, so be it. Just my opinion, Falcon

Right now my boat is down for the season, however it isn't as big a deal for me as it is for most fishermen. I live on the lake and I don't have to worry about gas for a tow vehicle. Before I moved to the lake I had to tow thirty miles. That would make it more of a hardship. In the spring I'll see where the gas prices are and make an evaluation on where I'll fish on the lake, whether I travel for smallies or stay close to home and fish for LMB and muskies. Falcon
