BassFishingMachine, where I fished this year two people per hole is considered crowded. I had 100 yrds of creek all to myself. I wasnt fishing a well known creek either. And we have alot of creeks to choose from in my county. Elbow to elbow fishing isn't for me. Gotta Love It, I sent you some trout. It will be the package that stinks!! ;D

Caught 5 more this morning. Fished a different creek with some bigger fish. Got some nice fillets.

There was five of us fishing today and we all did really good. 8:35 I was putting my fifth in the bag. Finished the day off helping the kids. Around here if you didnt get them early it was going to be tough to limit out.
  4. The last time my buddy and I were in Canada fishing, he prefered eating the pike over walleye. He said they simply taste better.
  5. It was a chain pickeral.
  6. I'd say atleast 15 inches. I'm sure that it wasnt because of glare or anything of that sort. I sure would like to have gotten a pic of him(or her). I may have to make another trip back there.

    I'll second that RW.
  8. The fish looked healthy, heck he was certainly hungry. Just strange.
  9. This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. My partner hooked a small pickeral today and got it to the side of the boat. Before he was able to lift it in the boat it shook loose. But what we seen on the end of the line wasn't just any old pickeral. THIS THING WAS BLUE. :-? No joke. Its face and mouth was blue and its tail also BLUE. Any one else ever see or hear of this?
  10. We all know what a "back seat driver" is, but has any one ever fished with a"back seat boater". Ok the bite was a little slow but is it necessary every five minutes "maybe we should be over there"..."we should be a little closer"..."I cant reach shore"..."the boat moves every time I cast" AHHHHHH SHUT UP already. > Ok I just needed to vent a little. So does this ever happen to you guys.
  11. I use power worms all the time. I've caught more bass on these than any other worm. I dont use the frenzy baits.
  12. I can only think of maybe 2 times that a turtle has taken a bait of mine. Both snappers. Its a wonder we dont have more problems. We have lots of big turtles where we fish.
  13. I agree with Bob, a 70 qt cooler would be best. I use a 48qt cooler and a 500 gph recirculating pump. Even though I have never had a fish die in the three years I've used it, I'd recommend a bigger cooler.
  14. Atleast 2 - 3 times a week.
  15. Caught another one on a crankbait this weekend.
  16. I would assume you are in need of a live well for the weekend tournaments. An aerated livewell or cooler is a MUST. This is what I use, I have a 48qt cooler with a 500gph aerator pump. The pump sits on the bottom and I have the spraybar mounted to inside back as high as I could. Only used as much tube as I needed to keep the pump on the bottom. This has worked great for the past 3 years. Never had a fish die. On the real hot days I also use ice. I also wouldn't go any smaller than a 48qt. A 60 would be nice. The fish basket idea.....BAD idea. I know from experience
  17. Just this past weekend my partner caught a catfish on a plastic worm. He first spotted this fish and made several casts. We ended up spooking the fish. He swam up under this log facing the bank. As I was laughing, he makes one more cast to the other side of the log and that cat just nailed it it took us 10 minutes to get him untangled from the log. The last two years we have had more catfish hit bass lures than I would have ever imagined
  18. I would say less than 10% maybe even 5% of the casts I make do I feel relativley certain its going to pay off. You think of all the casts you make in 1 outing. WOW. :-/ Its probably fewer than 5%. Mentally I try(and I emphasize TRY) to fish every cast as if its the one. I guess thats one of the things that seperates a Pro Angler and a fisherman like me.
  19. Somebody said to me the other day at the lake "this must be your favorite, your here all the time". Actually it is not. I consider it my home lake because I have fished it all my life and its 10 min. away. BUT it is not my favorite. There is a lake almost 2hrs away that is my favorite to fish. For alot of reasons. So, is your home lake your favorite?
  20. LOL "Nothing is getting done around here!!!!" If I had a dollar for everytime I heard this year. I've been hearing that since April. ;D
  21. This is a three part question. 1- how often do you try a new bait, not necessarily new to the market but a bait you normally wouldnt use. or even a color you have never used. 2- how much time would you spend using that new bait till you have decided yea or ney. this leads into the next question. 3- how long till you have enough confidence in that new bait to keep it tied your line. Now I will tell you why these questions came to mind. Tonight at my home lake I tied on a bait in a color that I would normally never have given a chance. I got it out of the bargain bin at Gander Mt. In two hours of fishing I caught 8 fish. On the same bait. After 1 fish I was going to switch baits, but figured with only an hour and half left to fish, why? Its good I didnt.
  22. I have a 1648 with a 9.9hp on it. It works fine for me. It gets me where I need to go, just not too fast. I got a good deal on the motor so thats what I bought. I fish mostly elelctric motor only lakes though. If I fished more gas lakes I would go with a little bigger motor. Maybe 20 or 25hp.
  23. My favorite are the Linders, but where have they gone?
  24. I voted smallmouth, but if I ever get the chance to go for peacock bass I may have to change my vote.
  25. I'd go with Motorguide. Ive used them before and switched to Minnkota. I'm going back to Motorguide.
