  4. Raystown is tough lake to fish, especially if you only fish it once a year, and can make for some longs days on the water. This trip wasn't one of those days. We managed 7 fish, here are some pics of the best ones.
  5. I had the privilege of playing Guide this morning instead of chasing after birds for myself. I think his dad(basschamp35)and I were more excited than this young man who made a 43yd shot. This kid can shoot!! This was his second season and his second gobbler.
  6. I fished Penns Creek this past weekend and the 1/8 oz silver bladed orange/red tipped was killer!! Also yellow worked well to.
  7. You could check around at some your area Merc. dealers and see if they get any camp motors in. Merc. leases motors to hunting and fishing camps for 1-2 years then take them back, go over them and then get shipped out to the dealers. I bought a year old 9.9 4stroke for $300-$400 less than a brand new one. That was two years ago and it still looks and runs like new.
  8. Yes I always use them with the craw. I use a 1/8 or 1/4 oz tube weight depending on the depth i'm fishing. I use the weight that you slide up in the tube and has a hole on top for an offset hook. Then after you trim the body of the craw slide it in and put it all together with a 2/0 offest wide gap hook. I also have used them with the small yamamoto craw.
  9. I was able to go on Saturday too. Not a great show but a good show. The seminars are the best part and worth the money. I was able to buy some hard to find colored crankbaits I cant get in my area. I find it odd that the two biggest tackle shops there (Hawghead and Susqhuehanna Fishing Tackle) are from PA. Is there not any tackle shops like them from the MD area? Boett43, I've been using tubes from Pappys Baits for a few years now and they have produced fish on days when downsizing was a must and nothing else was working. They are my go to bait when the fishing is tuff.
  10. Same here, as soon as there is open water. If we dont have ice I am usually on the water the beginning of March. I am always fishing jigs.
  11. I see one of the pics from that guys camera showed up on yahoo today.
  12. I love those beef jerkey commercials!! I'm trying to find those pics somewhere on the web but no luck yet. To me its so obvious its a bear because there is another bear in the forground within a few feet of "the creature".
  13. Congrats!!! Nice deer. Dont worry, a few more deer under your belt and you'll be a pro at field dressing
  14. On a recent fishing trip to Northwest PA a fellow at a gas station told us about a hunter who caught Bigfoot on a trail camera, somewhere in the Allegheney National Forest. At the first mention of Bigfoot we laughed. Three weeks later this story is in the Harrisburg Patriot News. Here is the link to the article. But the pics published in the paper are not on the web. After seeing the pics I'm still laughing ;D I know some of you in central PA may have seen this. http://www.pennlive.com/ap/stories/index.ssf?/base/news-55/1193523551252040.xml&storylist=topstories

Decided to skip a tournament today and fish a new lake. Lake is down about 5-6ft so best cover to fish was the edge of weed beds. We caught 10 fish total. basschamp35 caught the best fish of the day.
  20. Mine would be peanut butter and lettuce. My dad used to eat fried deer bologna and peanut butter sandwich for breakfast.
  21. Shoot, I'm havin a hard enough time catching bass on bass lures lately let alone catfish ;D ;D
  22. Thats too weird The camp we stayed at is in Woodward. We fish Penns and Poe creek.
  23. Nice job!! Thats a big bird. You'll never forget your first one.
  24. I thought I'd wait till after the second opening day to reply and put in my 2 cents. Either way my opinion didnt change. I love the two different opening days. I think it was a great idea. For a number of reasons. Now I get to fish some local creeks for two weeks before I head to Centre County for the second opening day. Moving the start of the season up two weeks ,for those 18 counties, means more time to fish before the creeks all but dry up. As far as the creeks being frozen over for opening day, I think there is more of a chance of them being flooded.
  25. We had another great opening weekend, again. This will have been our 6th year of trout camp. Friends from NY and Ohio all meet in Centre County for the weekend. Fished three days and caught tons of fish. 50+ to be exact. I'm glad we were in a cabin again this year. We used to sleep in tents. Can you say BRRRRRR ;D
