G Loomis Price Hike
Well, I was going to wait and use my gift cards on a new GLX, but with these price hikes, I took advantage of the fact the the IT guys haven't updated the Bass Pro website with the new prices and ordered a new rod at the old price.

G Loomis Price Hike
I just received my Bass Pro 2008 Master Catalog and the price of all the G Loomis rods went up. It went up $9.99 in most cases and from a few I saw it went up $14.99. Is this just Bass Pro raising the prices or is G Loomis raising the prices?

Replacement Trebles for LC Pointer 100
That wouldn't be a bad option RW, but I can't seem to figure out how to order them from that site and I would assume those trebles would be exspensive. I was wondering if there is a slightly more economical solution.

Replacement Trebles for LC Pointer 100
I am looking for replacement treble hooks for my LC Pointer 100's. The problem I have found is that the Pointers have a size 5 treble on them and I can't find a good size 5 treble anywhere. I did replace one with size 4's, but it didn't allow the Pointer to suspend properly (at least not suspend properly in my bathtub). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Sportsman's Warehouse saves the day
I have slowly been becoming a fan of Sportsmans Warehouse. They seem to have rods that Cableas doesn't have in the store and they seem to have better deals on reels (as well as other items). I'm glad to hear everything turned out well for you.

g loomis question follow up
I have recently upgraded all my rods from various manufacturers to G Loomis and Cabelas XML. There is one major reason I have chosen to upgrade to these two companies, warranty. The G Loomis rods are absolutely unbelievable and whether or not they are better then another high end rod is always a matter of opinion. What I like though, is the fact that if I break a rod because of some dumb reason, I can get it replaced for basically the cost of shipping both ways. Also, if you look around you can find G Loomis rods for great deals. I purchased a brand new 6'6" IMX medium-heavy rod for $103 off of eBay. All my G Loomis rods came at costs well below what they retail for, so for me G Loomis rods are the best overall rod that can be purchased. As far as never changing their technology...well, why fix what isn't broken .

G-Loomis question
I use the MBR844C for my pitching needs. In my opinion, there is a big difference between the GL3 and the IMX. The IMX is definitely worth the extra money. The debate usually is if the GLX is worth the $100 over the IMX.

Need Help With Getting a Rod
G Loomis Bronzeback SMR814C-CB. Great for Jerkbaits, Topwater, and Shallow/Medium Running Crankbaits. It is rated for up to 1 ounce, so you could throw smaller swimbaits on it. Great rod in my opinion.

Did you guys see "The Worlds Greatest Fishing Show" with Mark Zona this last Saturday? He was up at Presque Isle fishing with some pro named Frank. They also showed clips of him fishing for Steelhead out of one of the tribs. nearby. It was a good show.

new Revo S...fisrt report
I don't know if this is true or not, but from what I've heard you should have symetry to the brakes. I don't know if it's good to only have one on. I would think you should have either all off, or two on, or three on, four on, or all six on. Am I wrong on this?

Rapala minnow spoon lure..any info??
Rapala stopped making this lure a while ago (I have since then stocked up on a lifetime supply). Where I find this lure to shine is on heavy heavy slop. The weight of the lure really creates a vibration through the slop (where a hollw bodied frog would just slide along, not making any wake). If the slop is not that thick and the weight of the spoon punches through, then stick with a hollowed body frog, but when you find a thick thick mat of slop, get out the weedless spoon and hold on!

graphite rods and cold
I used to keep my equipment in the garage during the cold. Then I read that the mono on the spool of your reel could contract in the cold and actually damage the spool. I use mono for backing on all my reels, so I started removing the reels and store them inside the house. Then I heard that the cold could effect the epoxy coating on some areas of the rod from what I assume is the different contraction rate of graphite and the epoxy, thus forcing a separation. I don't know if this is true or not, but instead of risking it, I keep everything in the house now.

They're almost gone....
All 4 stores I have been in, or contacted, have righty's for 179.95 and lefty's for 159.95 both models. When I went there and saw the left handed Sol on sale, I asked them if they had any right handed models availible. They guy said no, but for some reason he looked through the lefty models and found one righty mixed in. I asked him how much, and he said they were $159.95. I went to the check out and the righty rang up $179.95. I told the cashier that the guy at the reel counter told me it was $159.95 and when she called back to the reel departement, the guy cinfirmed it. Looking back now, I think the guy made a mistake.

They're almost gone....
I purchased a right handed Daiwa Sol there for $159.99 not long ago. I went back and they had the Daiwa Fuego right handed reel for $179.99 and the left handed reel for $159.99. I tried to get the manager to sell me the right handed reel for $159.99, which was the price of the left handed model. He wasn't budging. They also had no right handed Sol's left. Only the lefty models.

Ok so maybe this wasnt the smartest idea....
I saw that clip from a DVD called "The Best of Banned From TV." During the narration of the situation, the guy climbed up there to commit suicide, but changed his mind. The wind was so strong up there that it blew him off before the guy could climb down.

Help with new rod suggestion
Get a G Loomis IMX MBR783C on eBay (if you look enough, you can get one for around $150. I bought one new on eBay for $103, but this was the deal of the century). You can do everything with this rod and you should have it for a long long time (assuming you take care of it). If you happen to break it or it breaks on you, for $50 you will have a new one delivered to your door (that's G Loomis XPeditor service). That is a great rod and it is well worth the money.
