I didnt want to overboat myself at this stage of the game if that makes sense. I want to become a proficient boater before I drop 20K on a newer boat, LOL. Thanks and keep it coming Bitman
  9. It only took me 5 years to wear the wife down but she finally agreed to letting me get a boat. I got a 1993 Bass Cat Pantera II with a 150 Yamaha ProMax 2 stroke. Its in very good condition especially since we wrewired most of it and replaced the electroninc dash with the replacement from Bass Cat. Anyhow Im looking for tips on boating in general!!!!!!!! All tips are welcome and the more the merrier! Ive always been the guy fishing from the back of the boat except the rare occasion when I was able to borrow a boat. So Im looking for any and all tips, you post it Ill read it! Ill post up some pictures when I get a chance. Thanks in advance Bitman

  11. We have them in Lake Alan Henry near Lubbock TX and they are pretty tough to catch, at least for me Although you will catrch a large fish ever once and a while. But the number of fish you catch in a day are few. I do know alot of folks catch bass and some bigger ones on minners out of the crappie house, Im guessing the fish know where the easy meals are, LOL DannyG They also have it stocked with Smallies and Spots, Ive never caught even one of either so they are very hard to catch

  18. Im settled in out here in West Texas, Midland to be exact. Ive been fishing Amistad and Alan Henry lately since their good bass lakes. I used to fish some at Brownwood but mainly for white bass and crappie. DannyG
  19. Im from Houma, Terrebonne Parish. I have fished alot off the coast of Cocodrie and Montague. We also had a camp on Timbalier island, that was awesome! But I like the bass hunting alot too. DannyG Geaux Tigers!!!!!
  20. Hello all, Im new to the forum and Im new to serious bass fishing. I grew up in South Louisiana so I did my fair share of bassin but we mostly fished for reds and specs in the bays. I live in West Texas now, about 3.5 hours from Amistad I might add so thats cool. Anyhoo Im wanting to learn more about bass fishings ins and outs. Do you know of any good books that are educational in terms of bass fishing? I would like to learn more about using electronincs on the boat, different presentations and why they work and when to use them, about weather conditions. You catch my drift by now Im sure. I would like to get better at this sport and join a club one day and maybe fish a few tourneys in the long run. I really love fishing and I enjoy bassin way more than any salt water fishing, I guess because it seems like hunting on the water. ANyway holler with any help and info you may have. Im sure Im gonna learn a lot on the boards as well.
