I would try some X-raps in a color that mostly fits the forage of your area. Work them with the twitch and reel retrieve but be sure to pause for 5-10 seconds to draw more strikes. especailly this time of the year the bass are sort of transitioning, the fall pattern has most likely moved out- WM

read an article in my new bassMaster magazine yesterday and read that some pro anglers are now using the "BioSonix" unit. What this unit does, there is a speaker in the water that gives off sounds that distressed baitfish make which increases predatory instincts in bass. Anglers such as Kevin Van Dam and a fewother pros are starting to use them. I dont know exactly how new this is, this might be a pointless post but. I honestly think that is cheating. Fishing tournaments your supposed to go find the fish, the fish arent supposed to come to you ....of course you will still have to find fish to use the unit. In the article it said that, there have been records of bass swimming up and hitting the boat because of the sound waves this thing gives off. I personally think this is cheating and it shouldnt be allowed in tournaments, i mean if the thnigs are really expensive its a joke. Anglers on a tight budget shouldnt have to worry about someone having one of theese, its already bad enough when your fishing against anglers with gps systems, ridiculously good sonars and other crazy gear? What do you guys think? I think they have taken it too far, this aggervates me. > :( :-/

Bought my First st.croix rod today, got a 6'6 Premier Med Power, fast action rod...the rod seems really stiff and i like it, i mainly bought it for cranking and spinnerbaits, but i think i might beable to use it to t-rig some senkos and worms.. Im thinking on buying a Simano Citica for my first bc reel, ive been hearing about it a lot lately and it also has a left hand retrieve which is what i wnated. Anyone have or use this reel? And is this a good reel for my first?.to learn to cast with etc? Thanks to RoadWarrior ill probably string it with yo-zuri hybrid this spring, but use a cheaper line to learn with since i will probably backlash a lot! Roadwarrior: what type of baits would you specifically fish with this outfit mentioned above?..you seem to know your stuff ;D

How are you certain theres no crayfish in the lake?

Not necessarily matt, i went down to my pond hole about a week ago and the water temp was really cold, i found the bass were sitting up in shallows maybe abosorbing some warm water, the sun was beaming on it. My target lure was the Manns 1- i was running it parralel to the bank getting viscous strikes on a baby bass color
