Gonzo Grub, any info on it?
Back in the warmer months I bought a pack of these cause I thought they looked "hitable". There made by YUM and are in redshad color. They basiclly have the body of a grub with one side being a skirt and the other being a double tail. How can I fish these baits. I tryed fishing them texas rigged and weightless during the warmer months but I had no success so I basiclly lost confidence in them and haven't touched em since. Anyone have any experience with these Gonzo Grubs? Is there a particular way to fish them?

Chatterbait, Does This new Innovation Work?
I haven't tryed them either, do you fish them like a spinner, with a steady retrieve? Or do you fish it with pauses and light jerks? How do you work this bait?

Softening Rubber Worms?
What do you mean the flavor might be impaired? I can always just add megastrike to em, no?

Softening Rubber Worms?
I have some rubber worms that are a bit harder then the usual, and was wondering if there was a way to soften em up a bit. I was thinking about just keeping them in a moist bag and see if they soften up from that. What you guys think? Any ideas or opinions?

Just learning the Pig-N-Jig
Yeah I was looking at other chunks like the Super Chunk Jr, but to me that gives off the appearance of a crawfish, and since there aren't any crawfish in the lakes im fishing I didn't bother with it. Although I guess bass will hit anything that looks edible, so maybe Ill try em out sometime.

Just learning the Pig-N-Jig
Okay, I made a stop at dicks recently after a long week of work (when im not able to fish in awhile I get this strong urge to buy new fishing equipment, don't know why) I bought myself some new baits including a Booyah baby Boo Jig 3/16 oz Watermelon red. I also bought a pack of Zoom Small Salty Chunk Castaic Choice in green pumpkin <--- thats what it reads :-?. I bought these because I figured I would need a trailer to fish with the jig. Now I never fished a jig but I have seen videos so I have a decent idea on how to fish em. Ive read some posts about jig-n-pigs being a good choice in the cold water but is this green type color I bought going to work in this weather? Im thinking not because it kinda imitates a frog in my opinion, and since its winter im guessing only white/black jigs are the most popular. Did I buy a good jig combo? Can I fish this in coldwater even with the green type color?

Do you have a favorite cold water technique?
In cold water I usually use small rapalas and xraps, which I fish extremely slow. I also throw a white spinnerbait in coldwater at times.

Cabelas, a good bass tackle store?
I wasn't sure where to post this so I went ahead and posted here, I figure it can always be moved. Anyways I was wondering if Cabelas has as much bass fishing tackle as Bass Pro Shops. You see I live very far from a Bass Pro Shop (3hrs), and a Cabelas(1hr 40min) is a bit closer. I seen a commercial for Cabelas and to me it looked like there main theme was hunting and all I basiclly saw was hunting equipment, which leads me to think they are more a hunting store then a fishing store. Although commercials can always be miss leading so I thought I'd get your reviews. So does Cabelas have a good amount of bass fishing gear, as in more then Dicks Sporting Goods? Cause if they have the same amount as Dicks it'll be a waste of time and gas. What im looking for is a place that doubles the amount of bass fishing gear Dicks carries, maybe even tripples. Is Cabelas a store that does this?

Can you straighten bent up rubber worms?

Can you straighten bent up rubber worms?
For example I have some senkos that are bent into certain positions and won't come out of that position. Is there anyway you can straighten these baits out? I thought I heard something once about boiling the bait.

Yum Buzzfrog
I don't know maybe it doesn't look as realistic as I thought, but the fish hit it nicely so I can't argue with that. Also about line twisting causing knots etc, I don't believe I had a single tangle any of the days I went out fishing it. And I was using it like everyday during the fall. I had braided line though so maybe thats reason. Personally I wouldn't fish mono with topwater frogs, as your fishing around lillypads / over thick cover mono isn't going to be the best choice of line if you know what I mean.

Yum Buzzfrog
Haha, Ok im going to be the one and only guy who writes positive about the bait heh. Hey I have to give credit where credit is due. I have caught many bass this summer/fall with the YUM Buzzfrog. Yes they flip at times, but I really don't think that makes much of a difference. I don't believe the bass can tell what side the frog is on, all I think it sees is the legs paddling like a live frog and attacks it. I love the way this frog's feet paddle, looks so realistic IMO. So before you lose hope in this bait, just know they can catch alot of fish, and im proof of it. I know they are heavy and sink fast, but I believe this gives them a bigger and more rowdy appearance while buzzing on the top. (I Once went to my local lake at around dusk, and stayed for about 30mins, caught 6 bass, biggest was 3 1/2 lbs.) Now for NJ thats alot of bass for only 30mins, especially in the lakes I fish. So don't give up on the YUM frog, I know I won't .

Favorite Dog to Walk
Hate to change the topic, but I never tryed the spook type lures. I always thought they were for SM bass, not LM bass. Are they also a good lure for LM bass? They seem kinda big though, will the smaller bass hit them? Theres not many huge bass in the lakes I fish in NJ, and there aren't any SM bass what so ever.

What bait was your largest bass caught on?
Just another one of my curiosity questions . My biggest bass (5lbs) was caught on a 4inch Camo Powerworm.

creatures
YUM wooly hawgtails in greenpumpkin work good in my opinion.
-
favorite rapala lure
X-rap for the colder months of the year, and the Skitter-pop for the warmer months.

Senkos in cold water
Ok, Im curious if senkos will work in the colder months. Will the bass still hit senkos now? Or is it all baitfish imitators? If I were to cast a 3inch greenpumpkin senko you think it will get a hit in this 45 degree weather? Or are senkos just not a winter bait? I thought I heard white/smoke senkos worked in winter but maybe I was mistaken. Or maybe a Fat Ika? Are there any softbaits that will catch fish in this weather!? I miss using them!

Great deal on jigs and soft plastics.
One more quick question just before I say what the hell and order em hah. If you were to line the salt-stix worm along side the GYCB senko or the along side the YUM dinger will they look exactly alike? By this I mean are they just as fat? Are they as soft? Do they have the same texture? I understand that you can't expect a cheap bait to be just as good as a GYCB senko, but I just want to make sure the bait isn't crappy lol. Have you had success with these worms? Sorry for all the questions, its just that I want to make sure im getting a good deal, as I will be buying 50$ in worms.

Great deal on jigs and soft plastics.
So your saying there is no catch? Like I said it seems to good to be true haha. Is this really true? 5.00 for a 60pack of salt-stix? There is no catch??
-
Great deal on jigs and soft plastics.
Yeah Ive also checked it out and the prices are simply amazing. But can you truly trust the company? Are they going to rip you off some how? And what Tucson said, if I order something and they dont have the item in stock, I expect a full refund, not a "partial" refund! Just seems to be to good to be true to me, there has to be a catch. Is this website trustable or what?

your dream lures
A 8-10 inch zoom finesse worm that automatically wiggles itself back and forth like a live worm. And by automaticlly I mean electric powered or something. This would be so beautiful. Or a topwater hollow frog/buzzfrog that actually kicked its feet like a real frog and swimmed on the top looking exactly like a live frog swimming.

Buzzbaits/Spinnerbaits with a trailer?
Ive always wondered if a trailer bait would work with a buzzbait/spinnerbait. Although I have never noticed it being done so I never bothered to try it. Have any of you guys tryed adding a trailer bait to the buzz/spinner? And if so were the results good? Also what trailer baits have you tryed with the buzz/spinner, frog chunks? crawdads? Give me some info on this subject.

Megastrike, giving me trouble
Ok so I bought a tube of this attractant hearing it works pretty good. A person told me to smear it all over the skirt of your buzzbait/spinnerbait and it suppose to leave a trail of the scent in the water and result in many more hits then a unscented buzz/spinnerbait. Now I tryed this and it stuck my skirt together so the skirt was all bunched up rather then moving freely and looking nicer. Also the bait seemed to collect more dirt and junk that seemed to stick to the bait due to the gel. Also the skirt of my bait is now brown due to the gel picking up the dirt. Has anyone had similiar results with this megastrike? Or is it just not ment to be put on skirts? Also im wondering wether or not I should try it on a senko, kinda makes me think the senko might collect the dirt and crap off the bottom with this gel on it.

Newbie to artificial lures has a few ?'s
Great choice on switching to artificial baits. There is no better feeling then knowing you have TRULY tricked the fish into biting your bait, and with a artificial you are doing just that. I would leave some tips about the styles of rigging you listed, but everyone basiclly covered that. (Btw if your a fluke fishermen there is no better artificial then a small White Leadhead rigged with a Pearl White Gulp Swimming Mullet. Just bounce this bait combo along the bottom, its ridiculous how many fluke you'll catch ;D.)
