  1. wow, i just read your last post, and it looks like i'm a litle late..sorry
  2. couple lures to try: chart./white spinnerbait, square billed crankbait, and a jerkbait (x-rap would be nice)
  3. hmm no i dont...I fished a tourney up there 2 weeks ago, and it seemed that all the fish were cought on chart/white spinnerbaits...I only cought 1 keeper (3.34) and he was on a silver/white spinnerbait...i dont know about all the other ones, but when i cought mine, he hit as soon as I came in contact with a stickup.......but you might see me up there tomorrow...my grandpa, dad, and me are going up to winterize the boat and camper....so if you see a green and white Sea Ray ski boat with 3 people in it...thats probably us....what kind of boat are you gonna be in?
  4. when fighting a fish, I ALWAYS keep my rod tip between 2-6 o'clock

    amen!
  6. oh i just love the christmas season.....except for the part about not fishing.....but my fav. sight is looking out the window, and seeing all the christmas lights, and streetlights lighting up the snow that's falling around it.
  7. Thanks to everybody for their help this year.. But, i give all my props to my buddy Needemp.. I came to this guy when I needed help finding spots for my tournements...he told me what lures to use, when to use them, and He even gave me fishing spots...so Needemp, if your out there, thanks a ton man.

good point...but sooner or later, someone will be looking for "file mob" and not realize that he's basboy15...idk
  9. 1) It wouldnt hurt to try it....I always have one rod/reel rigged with braid...The only lures i use with braid are: Jigs, Plastics, and topwaters....I never use braid on cranks, spinnerbaits, or jerkbaits etc... 2) couldnt tell ya 3) I fish them with braid a lot, but not all the time. I'm usually flippin and pitchin. 4) my fav. braid is power pro.. ***the only time i use a leader is on a carolina rig. ***if you are fishing at night, you shouldnt have to worry about line visibility.
  10. Being that its gonna be that cold....PAY ATTENTION...in my expeirences in that cold of weather....bites are few and far between....but I think "Aint Texan" nailed it. Use a hair jig.

well its pretty simple for me: Chart./White spinnerbait.
  12. I say do what catt says.....but i've always had success on the bitsy bug jigs
  13. being that you are fishing a some-what light t-rig...i would go for a Falcon Cara.....and, I wouldnt bother fishing a shakey head on a BC set up.......stick with a spinning combo and 6 pound flouro for that.
  14. why in the heck is it so hard for me to catch fish in super clear water?
  15. Yeah, I live out here in St. Peters....They're building a Dick's at Mid Rivers Mall and it's opening in summer of '08.
  16. I like this thread guys...its neat to hear all the stories (*luckyinkentucky).
  17. Thanks guys for all the help it's one of those things that have been on my mind for a while
  18. Ok got a few questions here: What is your fav. flippin weight? Do you prefer a screw-in weight (florida weight) over a regulair free sliding weight when flippin? Thanks
  19. Bass XL replied to a post in a topic in Fishing Tackle
no, it wont sway.....if you can see it...You put the line through the tip, and it goes to the back of the jighead where you can tie it....it doesnt look like a palmar know would work...but i'm not sure... heres the link http://fishinfanatics.com/images/JIG-X.gif

I've never tried it (i plan on it soon tho) but the newer "Jig-X" jig looks like it would be good in that situation....your knot is somehow inside the jighead so it wont get a bunch of build up. I ALWAYS trim my weed guard to where it is bairly over the hookpoint. I think rattles are always a plus. I hope this helps/
  21. I use crawdad baits as trailors, and i texas rig em'...and if they're small enough, i sometimes put them on a shakey head... trailors: eakins craw and paca craw texas rig: CRITTER CRAW, and paca craw shakey head: Berkley power craw hope this helps
  22. can i ask where you got the rod for 150$!!!??? please let me know
  23. Whats everyones opinions on the new cumara rods?
  24. It's not like I havent cought a decent size bass before. I know what an eight pounder looks and feels like, so I had some idea on a size to compare it to. But like i said oh well. I'm not that upset at all over the whole ordeal, coming back to the camp site , holding my fish up, and seeing the faces on all the little kids, adults, and kids my age was just as good as winning it. Thanks for everyones feedback.
