  1. Technically you could make baits for less then you'd buy them, but in reality you'll probably get addicted to the hobby/art of making lures like all of us and find yourself placing large $ orders for supplies, tools, parts, etc. But it's worth it. ;D
  2. Nice job Dave! What top coat did you use on that? D2T?
  3. Nice job, especially the red behind the gill on the first one!
  4. LOL! You gotta get the imported ones from Japan! ;D
  5. There is one listed here. I just found it with google.
  6. Yes, they will catch some times but they come right off. It's much better then the tangled mess you get without the twist ties.
  7. I bought this used crank recently. It has a custom paint job but I think it's a pretty common crank. I don't know what it is though, anyone?
  8. If you want to cram a lot of cranks into 1 plano box without the hooks getting all tangled up here is another option to consider. I use the twist ties that you get with trash bags. I take a strip of ties and cut it in half because you don't need them that long for most cranks. Some people do the same thing with rubber bands but I find this to be easier and faster - and pretty cheap too! You can see there are about 50 baits in this box with room for more and I can search through them without them getting tangled. Oh, and this gives you something to do while waiting for the ice to thaw!
  9. I was there a couple weeks ago and rented a jon boat from Roland Martin's marina. It was around $70/day so you might want to consider that. I saw one person fishing from shore, he was using live bait. Look out for gators!
  10. would ya mind sharin? aaron Here ya go Aaron, but I did tweak it in photoshop quite a bit before I used it.
  11. That's what it's all about! Very cool.
  12. I can't help you with that specific crank, but I can tell you that his stuff is good quality and he is a pleasure to do business with. He ships really fast too.
  13. Marty - That sounds like a great option, I might have to try it myself. Have you tried Dick Nites?
  14. x2 I use them on soft plastics that tear easily and it extends their life significantly.
  15. I don't know from experience, but I would think you would do better selling them yourself on an auction website, custom website, and/or message board forums (like this one).
  16. Great job on the photofinish! It looks really nice. That image looks like the same one I use. We probably got it from the same place.
  17. Anyone fish these? How?
  18. That is the biggest perch I have ever seen!
  19. I believe at the time he said he didn't pursue the record because it was foul hooked.
  20. You might want to try printing onto full-page sticker sheets instead of the tissue. The point of using tissue paper is to put it over foil and you will pick up some of the reflective characteristics of the foil through the tissue. But if your not putting foil underneath I would recommend using the sticky paper. The tissue will also make the image a little more blurry and the colors less saturated.
  21. Nice! I like the brown/green one in the middle.
  22. Great job! That's one of the better photo finishes I've seen. What top coat did you use? If you want to pump up the colors and image clarity a little bit on your next one PM me and I can help you adjust the colors on your image before you print it.

  24. I love the peanut II but the hooks are garbage - you can bend the trebles if you pinch them! Do yourself a favor and replace them before you use it. I bought some of the DB Minnow jerkbaits this winter, lookin' forward to trying them this spring.
