Mixed feelings about bed fishing ???
I was bed fishing with Muddy at Lake Fork. I wasn't as lucky as him. All I caught was this:

We Got Mooked Today
Dateline: Tulsa, OK, April 6. 2007. APRIL 6 FERCRYINOUTLOUD, AND IT'S SNOWING! Three days ago I was fishing and the temp was 88. For the next few days temperatures will be in the twenties at night. Despite covering them, I figure all of my tomato plants will be lost. Muddy, it's all your fault. :P

what is your favorite band
Rap and HipHop are out - period! Other than that, any band whose lead singer does not have to make up for his lack of singing talent by screaming.

Lowrance Hot Spots Pro--what can I expect?
I have the Lowrance Lakes chip and like it very much. If you fish the more popular lakes, it is well worth the money. The popular lakes have very high detail and show things like boat launches, submerged roads, trees and vegetation. When I compared the map from the Lowrance to the paper Lake Fork map I purchased from BPS, I found the paper map contained slightly more detail. On the other hand, the ability to zoom in with the Lowrance map greatly offsets the disadvantage of minor lack of detail. Be advised that less popular (smaller) lakes will show bathymetric contour lines only - or - nothing at all. I think it depends on whether or not the USGS has bathymetrics on a particular body of water. One more thing. If you are using a hand-held GPS unit with the Lakes chip, I would suggest that you also purchase MapCreate 6.0 for another $100. It's worth the money if you are planning to fish a number of areas on a particular lake. You can upload the Lake Maps to your computer, plan your route on the big screen and then download the waypoints to the handheld. MapCreate is a "nice to have" option, but by no means a requirement. The Lakes Chip is a "must have."

Yep. Wouldn't miss it.

MOOKS GONE WILD TEAM SIGN UP
Riskkid, I never thought of that. I don't think I could keep any food on my stomach if I saw Muddy in a wet T-Shirt, or God Forbid, with no shirt at all! It's bad enough just to look at him when he is dry. ;D

Crawfish Boil in Richmond, Virginia
We Tulsa cajuns held our "invitation only" crawfish boil last Tuesday. All the bugs and beer you could eat and drink. We cooked over 200 lbs of crawfish and hosted about 60 people. The unusual thing about the get-together was that it was men only. The guy with the deep pockets, from Rayne, LA, hosts the same party every year from his airplane hangar.

Kent, I have tried to PM you but you seem to have blocked access. Have you had so much demand for your chili recipe that your inbox has been overwhelmed?

***Fork Video***
Norman, I am truly in awe of your writing ability. I wish I had your gift. Hemingway wrote "The Old Man and the Sea" Perhaps you could write " A Couple of Mooks on Lake Fork." BS aside, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. You are indeed a class act.

How long before you re-spoll with braid?
Let's see here. My rods are all spooled with a minimum of 30lb braid, with 12lb fluoro leaders. I'm not a tournament fisherman, so unless and until the braid starts to dry-rot, I figure I will never have to change it, but I probably will every five years or so.

???UH Roadwarrior???
Ronnie, you may not be aware of it, but it's very easy to get tainted by the Mooks. In my part of the country you would be called "Good Ole Boys" If you befriend a G.O.B. you pretty much have a friend for life. Based upon my recent experience, Mook = G.O.B. = a friend. That's enough for me.

Great video
Thanks for the memories. I really miss No. 3.

gps
My H2O came with a cigarette lighter plug. I went to Radio Shack and bought female half of the plug, ran a couple of six foot leads of it and attached aligator clips. When I'm on the water, I simply attach the leads to my trolling motor battery. No more worries about AA's.
