Nyper, firstly welcome to the best bass fishing site on the web. Secondly, I would recomend that you use the "search" feature on this site. This subject was discussed, in depth, several weeks ago.

I attended a Fishing Tackle show today and happened to stumble upon a booth that was selling G Blank rods. when I picked one up, I almost threw it over my head. It was light as a feather. The rods were selling at $125 each. Because the the booth was very large and was selling lots of other products, the staff were all occupied with other shoppers, so I was unable to learn anything about the company or its products I have done a search of this site and have found very little information about the G Blanks. I did a Google search and one source said that the rods were made from G Loomis blanks - hence the term G Blank. Does anyone have any further ingormation about this rod?

OOPS :-[ :-[ :-[ I saw KU's post pointing the bass he caught at Fork and made quantum leap that he was making the trip. If I can make that simple of an error, then I should probably go back and check my math.

OK, that's it for you, KU. On this trip you are not allowed to catch any more lunkers. Since you are now out of the picture, I have re-calculated the odds for the BFR group. They are now all the way up to 50/50 ;D I retrospect, I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with me math. Perhaps I've made too many assumptions.

Only 36 more days!

I have an old, ratty, straw hat that I have always worn for the last ten years. Do I consider it a good luck charm? NO! It keeps the sun off me! If I lose the hat, I will buy another. I'll say it again. It's just a hat! There i no such thing as a lucky"thing." What do you think will happen to your fiahing ability when your lucky shirts, shorts, shoes, socks, etc. finally have to go into the trash? Will you suddenly become a fishing moron? Jeez! If you want Lucky Charms buy the cereal.

With a small boat you need to maximize the available space. Considere using a milk-crate and storing your rods vertically .

Craig, thanks for your post. I haven't done the math, but I think you just narrowed down a bass fisherman's choices to just less than an infinite number of combinations. Of course I realize that you were speaking in generic terms, but I do not understand how the information provided in your post will put one bass in my boat. Perhaps you might want to expand on each of your topics. Mike

I'm not sure if I am asking the same question as FIN-S-R. Although, we both live in Oklahoma, he lives about 150 miles south of me. Anyway, here goes. After two weeks of sub-freezing weather, we will have a three-day warming trend until the next front arrives. Yesterday the high was in the mid forties, today the high was in the mid fifties and tomorrow will be in the upper sixties, AND I'M GOING FISHING! Do the responses to FIN-S-R's questions still apply, or should I be looking for bass heading for warmer water?

I power the fish finder and the GPS unit with my trolling motor battery. My boat is a Sea Eagle 9. www.seagle.com/motormountboat.aspx It is the Fisherman's package located at the bottom of the page. Sea Eagle wanted $250 for the floor-boards and bench seats, so I made them myself for about $30. I also constructed a set of transom-mounted wheels that allow me to get the boat in and out of the water when loaded. They are a pain to use, so I am going to redesign them.

Very nice, Lard_Bass. I like the diagonal rod holders. I ran out of room on my crate, but I've got them mounted elsewhere on the raft. What is the platform that you have your depth finder mounted on? It sorta looks like the center console of a car. Mike
