  1. I don't see any reason for you to change. They should be a perfect match.
  2. Agreed that straight braid is the way to go and a minimum of 40lb.
  3. The Px type r is a really refined reel. I just recently picked up a Chinese honeycomb spool off ebay and it's amazing. I was throwing 1/16 oz roadrunners the other day with great control and distance.
  4. In heavy cover I use straight braid, but usually have a leader otherwise. It's more of a confidence thing for me.
  5. I've been using my xx perfect pitch with exsence dc. The tip is perfect for working frogs and the backbone is outrageous. The exsence bombs frogs and is nice and powerful. I'm fine with 40lb pp.
  6. I use improved clinch for fluoro and Palomar for braid. I have had great success with these and see no reason to change.
  7. It's mostly preference. The only thing I use spinning gear for is drop shots and live bait. I prefer casting gear for everything else. I like the efficiency. I'm more accurate too.
  8. I find that most reels can handle 1/4 oz, but below that is when specialized finesse reels are more user-friendly. I would take a look at the alphas sv and curado 70 if your throwing stuff just below the 1/4oz mark.
  9. I throw chatterbaits on a klx mh/mf crank rip twitch which has the same blank as the buzz blades rod.
  10. Another vote for the president. At that price it's hard to beat.
  11. I prefer 7' or longer rods for senkos.
  12. Looking really good.
  13. In open-light cover I use 12lb. Fluoro. In heavier cover I use 30lb braid.
  14. Used t3's are being sold for too cheap. T3 mx and 1016s really don't need any upgrades and they perform.
  15. Nowadays that's a good deal. I've been seeing $150-200 depending on condition. Great reels.
  16. If I'm using the reel for bottom contact that requires setting the hook hard I have my drag locked down. For single hook reaction baits like spinnerbaits and chatterbaits I have it locked down. For treble hook baits, I loosen the drag a bit. Some guys use scales to measure how much drag to use, but I just go by feel. At the end of the day I always loosen the drag all the way.
  17. In general, lp reels are lighter, more comfortable to palm and have less line capacity. Round reels are generally more powerful. There are exceptions however.
  18. Sweet reel. I love my exsence dc. That whine is addictive.
