  1. you guys have been doing well, ive been stripers fishing lately. the bigger fish are around. they are hitting topwater but not committing. follow it or blow up on it a few times but not getting the bait. been getting schoolies on smaller gear
  2. look up tactical angler clips, they are super fast and easy to put on lures also super strong. you can add a swivel to it and it will be so awesome. its all i use. i use it for saltwater as well as fresh seriously look them up if you never used them, theres a few different brands, called fast clips.
  3. thats a nice day, good fishing bud, beautiful smallies
  4. ive tried, a fella on here mailed me one. it was in ok shape. trying to see if there are other styles out there or better yet a tornado that doesnt cost 50 bucks on ebay
  5. anyone know of any clacking spinner baits?
  6. caught a 6.13 last week here in eastern MA at night on topwater. a buddy in maine has been killin it at night on topwater. so answer is HELL YES YOU SHOULD!!!! i start night fishin when water gets into the 50s i use big swimbaits! was gettin bit couple weeks a go on a big 15 inch snake. a jackal pomadour, megabass iloud, Deps buz jet get chewed at night, you can use those on regular bass rods.
  7. i love jig fishing, swimbaits and jigs is what i normally use now. jigs are a different ball game, but very good, flip'n and pitch'n. biggest thing is detecting the bite. rather thats line movement or a "tick" you felt.
  8. yea i got the lures down pat, just trying figure out what the productive areas will be when the whole pond is pretty much the same
  9. hmmmm, never targeted the thermocline fishing before. so if its 10 feet the fish should be around 10 feet right? will they ever be found bellow the thermo like if its 10 feet could they be in 35
  10. how do you choose where to fish on shallow big lakes and ponds? have a few places that are big and shallow, i'm having a hard time deciding what areas to fish. i fish in a kayak so i like to target areas instead of paddling around fishin the whole pond
  11. how deep could a thermocline be? i got a lake with little shallow water cover, its deep and very clear. 50 feet deep Theres very little shallow water fishery. i have caught them at night up shallow and when they are spawning.
  12. Went out on a night mission last night. the pond i fished i havent been to in a while, its a pain in the ass to get to. ive been in a slump this year. havent broken 3lbs in 2 months. been tough saw fish busting in the pads at the launch at dusk. so thought there would be a good bite. had some halfhearted hits, small fish nothing good. havent caught a fish yet. losing hope for a fish. i made the cast over at the deep end of the pond where the herring come in. the fish smokes the bait. im screaming, adrenaline, heart pumping. im sooo crazy happy. sigh of relief. i did it, i finally did it. slump OVER!!! 6.13 on a 9 inch triple jointed slammer.
  13. went out for a night mission last night. hit a spot i havent been to in awhile, its a real pain in the ass to get to. saw fish bustin up top at sunset in the pads. figured the bite was on. it was a slow night, few half hearted hits. got a 6.13 on a slammer. been a tough spring for me, first fish over 3lbs in 2 months. feels soooooooo d**n good getting good fish again, IM BACK!!!! im so happy,. WOOOOOO
  14. make sense, its not alot of current, it flows into the 2 walls which feeds into the other pond, i bet it would be better if it was flowing out. what boggles my mind is there are GIANT fish here, but yet i cant catch any fish over 5 here, especially at night at the walls. this place is 50 feet deep, big and clear with alot of deep water.
  15. depends, with my fishing buddies we have great laughs and its a good time. but some days being out in the woods alone is so amazing. quiet, just the sounds of nature.
  16. i've had epic days where the white perch were up close to the surface feeding at dusk. the big bass, smallies and largies, would push them up out of the deep water on to a shallow flat, and HAMMER them. we smoked them that evening. in this same place ive seen bass come from the depths and smash schools of juvy yellow perch up shallow.
  17. fishing this one place at night. theres a series of cement walls, that feed into another pond. i really only do well here at night, everywere else in the ponds its slow. one time pulling an all nighter in my yak, fished for 8 hours with 2 small fish. pulled up to the spot, got out of my kayak, stood on the walls, caught 6 bass 3-5lbs. im sure if i fished it in the yak more at night it would be different, but fishing from shore at night is hard unless you fish this one series of walls the stick out into the water. i think its because theres very little shallow cover in the pond. its shallow around the shore line in most spots, some access to deeper water from shore. plus im able to reach a steep drop off from the end of the wall.
  18. went to a spot i havent been to in years. caught a handful, most were on a whopper plopper, fished swimbaits as well trying to grab some bigger fish, all were about 2lbs
  19. fished old faithtfull friday night, heard some huge splashes, couldnt get them. big fish tho, had few hits. caught small 2lber on a white pomadour
  20. i came up with this technique just. using big topwaters like jitterbugs, and rats. cast out to some shoreline trees. make a big splash. when it lands let the bait sit. sometimes giving it a few slight twitches, then reel in fast. what i think it looks like is a bird, chipmunk other rodents that fell from a tree. it looks injured and stunned, (letting it sit and twitching) that's when the bass is looking at the bait. when they see it panicking and trying to get away ( reeling in fast) they come up and smash it
  21. i dead stick big 8 inch jitterbugs at night, cool windy nights in mid fall. cast out reel in a bit, let it sit, the wind will continue to make the bait rattle but not move forward with the line. they smoked it dead sticking slammers and other big baits works awesome
  22. not sure, its been a while since i've bought from him. i dont think its to long but if its been since March i'd deff try to contact him. or post it on a swimbait facebook page. parch color ive seen one or 2 variations. really only ones ive seen are the back color. i saw that new color perch, that thing looks SIICCKKK. i need one
  23. plus all the critters you see! i love it! i was catching baby catfish with my hands last night
