  1. dude we went out on a charter for sailfish and sharks. saw one sailfish come up. no sharks, zip, nada, nothing, not even a shark coming up on the bait. it was soooooooo weird
  2. i got a snook, sea trout, a snapper, missed a few lady fish, a sailfin cat handfed a tarpon, stuck a remora to my leg. caught spotted tilapia, a blue tilapia, a gar, a pleco fishing was a little bit tougher then i thought but it was an amazing adventure. trying to take another trip for the fall mullet run
  3. nope but next trip to florida these will be happening!!
  4. i LOVE night fishing! cant imagine the glades. new thing added to the bucketlist
  5. got my first striper of the year today! so pumped. ITS GAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!! caught 2 missed 2
  6. yea most people fish them in the colder water, almost like a big jerkbait i LOVE big topwaters!!!!
  7. i fished a little honey hole on tuesday. searching for one big bite. caught a little 1-2lb fish on a swimbait. saw lot of panfish up top feeding at dusk. water felt warm, no fish finder
  8. pretty much any inlet, river mouths will have migrants. i dont fish down that way much for shore stripers, i live on the ocean so why bother when i can literally walk out back and get stripers.
  9. i love fishing big topwaters. my biggest is 15 inches, its a snake wake bait. i fish spooks up to 8 inches, jitterbugs to 8inches and wakes up to 10inches. i have a few different setups, a shimano muskie rod is a broom stick great for launching big heavy baits far, i love my dobyns 806 champion series, its great all around rod for smaller 6- 7inch topwater to bigger heavy stuff like my 15 inch snake. i got a skeet reese flippin stick. 8 foot lures 1-4, it throws my fishin magician skid stick 8 inch far and walks with ease. its another good setup for smaller baits
  10. i bet there will be some stripers around during that time!
  11. a fish of a life time could be the next cast. i fish swimbaits alot, its been a tough spring with the rollercoaster weather. but i still get out there with many skunks. i just know that 8 plus may be that next cast. Im in MA, 8s are tough but out there. i anticipate that hit and that feeling of fighting a big fish. plus night fishing with big swimbaits is AMAZING!!! thats really my favorite way to target big bass with big baits i do a lot of jig fishin as well. im using 7 inch fluke baits. pretty much increase your bait size, texas rig, spinner baits, crank baits, anything like that.
  12. i know i love it!!!! still chilly tho, i like to wait a week or 2 for the big schools to show up and the water to warm more
  13. i have a reservoir that has both species of fish but we catch more largemouth. back story: it used to be a drink water supply and you could only fish it by permit if you lived in the town. ive heard stories of those days. they would load up on huge bags of smallies it was fire and rarely catch a largemouth. it is now open to the public. ive been fishing it for a few years. my first year it was AWESOME! we smoked the smallies but they were smaller then the ones back in the day. over the years ive noticed a steady decline in smallie fishing and increase in the largemouth fishing. ive seen days where the smallies and largemouth would blitz on yellow and white perch, it was amazing!! havent seen it in a while though there is no boat ramp, you have to go through a smaller pond to get here. i think its 250 acres give or take a few. the water is very clear and 50 feet deep. theres a huge amount of deep water and some offshore structure. there is some shallow water structure and cover but not much, mostly deep water. its setup what i think would be prime smallie waters. which it used to be. i dont fish it like i used to, i HATE fishing it in a kayak. to big, to windy, and to deep for good fishing on the kayak. any ideas why the largemouth fishing has been good but the smallies declined
  14. go get em!!!!! ill be out in the yak tomorrow. checking out new spots. jig fishing and swimbaits! just got a new order of jigs! restocked.
  15. went out for after work shore mission, had a good hit on jig, and a good wake behind my jig when i was reeling in, off to spot 2. missed a small pickerel on a skid stick. then to old faitful, greeted with windy cold conditions. had one hit on topwater. nothing happening at night yet. COME ON SPRING. HURRY THE HELL UP!!!!!! i had enough of this crap. havent caught a fish in 2 weeks, I hate this weather.
  16. i tried yesterday at my honey hole. fished swimbaits but didnt get any action. i think the cold front we had, cold and a lot of rain shut off the bite
  17. get some storm shads, they are cheap big and get bit. slow roll them down deep. get a big topwater then id get a glide bait. savage gear makes good baits for a good price
  18. ok so i drink Buds, never had a bells 2 hearted ale.
  19. i have a place like this. its a kettle pond, 30 feet deep. lot of small fish but if i use big swimbaits i catch the big fish. i dont catch 3-5lb fish. its under 3lbs or over 5lbs. so try fishing bigger baits? or maybe your pond is stunted, maybe there isnt enough food
  20. i cant wait to get back in the swing of things. get out and get on some bass. found 4 new ponds that i cant wait to try out. heading out this afternoon. who knows where
  21. bico jigs, veracity jigs, leadfree bass jigs and boag hog jigs. all local massachusetts companies
  22. the bite SUCKED saturday. fished all day. went for lake trout fished bait and metals, got nothing, no hits, after great reports for the week. went for carp skunked nothing. went to old faithful. had left over shiners. my buddy got a small pickerel, i had a small pickerel hit. missed a fish on a jig up tight. SLLLLOOOOWWWW Day for 12 hours of fishing

  24. i wish!! dont have any redfish this far north, but the stripers will tear them up
  25. yea that place is awesome! lot of small lakers but giant bass to and a chance for a big laker. my buddy caught a 10lb laker few days ago. ive been fishing there for a few years, im not as gun ho as i used to be about fishing. i make a few trips a year
