Mostly for New Members
This is great advice Roadwarrior. I did this with Word. I just kept a .doc on the desktop called Bass Stuff and whenever I'd read anything interesting I'd copy and paste. The info here is too good to forget. later

Newbie to artificial lures has a few ?'s
Welcome. I gave up on the carolina for now. Currently I'm just t-riging 3 or 4/0 weightless, Flukes, Beavers, Senkos, and Creatures. Ultra basic rig, lots of lures. Though I'm confined to the bank. YMMV. later

Bait monkey and homeowners insurance...
Yeah, right. My wife would love that one. A sexitary would be nice. Jenna Jamesen, perhaps? On second thought, good idea. Get her, and post her pics!!!! Don't forget vids.

TecH20 rain suit?
It might be like the Tek2 stuff from llbean or cablelas version of it. Gore tex is proprietary stuff, so if its in there, its on the lable. Which makes it a bit costly. You have to pay Mr. Gore for his work you know. I have the premium gore tex from cabelas (not guidewear, its a bit cheaper) for the parka, and I love it. It has the cool max mesh, which is nice for Florida. The EXV pants dont have the mesh but are breathable. I bought the cheaper cablelas stuff originaly and I didn't like it. The nylon packable gear is light, but don't go trying to play Army Ranger in it. It will tear if it snags on a branch or bush. I don't know how your spot is, but where I fish, I occasionally have to jump a fence or cast from the bushes. The gore tex stuff is tough and keeps you dry (I have personally spent 5hrs in the suit). You just have to pay out the wazzooo for it. There is always frogg toggs. I'm getting my uncle a set of these for Christmas. later.

Why did this work so well today?
Oh, so very true!!! Back to topic, I think you happened to nail the pattern of the day. As is the case in bass fishing, this may/will not apply tomorrow. At least it doesn't for me. Today its orange/black, tommorrow its blue/green, go figure. later

BioSonix = cheating in my book
What if you could tweak the frequency and tune it to perhaps....Here fishy, fishy, get in the boat. With a sexy fish voice. You would have a switch to change from male to female. Hmm?? This thing and that one soldiers idea of mounting a FLIR unit to the boat. You are set. Optional M2 mount ofcourse. Nuts, just plain nuts.

WHAT IS THE BEST
I have only used a power bait once. I was followed around the pond that day by a nasty skunk. Nasty. I have used the zoom super fluke quite a bit. I have caught quite a few bass since May. I havn't caught anything on the trickworms. I caught 1 bass on the zoom horny toad. Thats all I've tried. My vote is for zoom, but its biased. I really havn't fished for bass long enough to judge. Just my opinion. later

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
I am truly humbled by everyones kind words. I can only look forward to fishing my mattlures swimbait for some REALLY big sow. Roadwarrior I'd love to believe so. That pig, from the bank, on a lure, with my son. Ha!!! (my live bait friends still look like this ) For the record, the monkey hasn't let go of my ankle yet. I've looked at a bunch of scales in the last few days. What the hey is up w/ the prices? I can't believe what some of those things are going for. Crazy. A little tid bit for you guys....Everyone I tell the story to, gets the pictures. They all say, "wow, big, etc". But the one that kills 'em is when I tell them I let her go. Some people can't believe it. Its like I'm the nut. Oh well. I guess its not for them. later guys.

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
Thanks fellas, that means alot to me coming from you guys!!! As for the Doritos....its funny, my kid was eating them when this pig hit. The moment I pulled her from the water. My son dropped the bag of chips and started hootin' and hollerin'. Kind of like I was. We looked like two kids at a Chrismas gift opening. As for size/length, I am guessing 25-27. She was bigger that my shoe x 2. I wear a size 12 nike (which is 12") and my thumb to pinkey is 9" (like a Hang Loose). Girth is somewhere in the 19-22. I put the numbers into the cpu for the weight, but I cant believe she was really a double digit bass. She didn't FEEL like one, well I've never held one, but she didn't feel like a 10lb dumbbell. Maybe I was so amp'd on adrenaline I was numb. What a feeling. I know why you guys live for this!!!!!! The weight is not so important (well, ok it is). I went and got that photo enlarged to hang in my side of the house. Too cool. later

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
The color idea I got from reading this site. "Natural Forage" and all that. I took my kid "catching" w/ hot dogs and circle hooks. We nailed a bunch of bluegills, and sunnys so...Blue/Green, and Yellowish/Black baits. I was doing pretty good w/ the zoom salty super fluke too in baby bass, and Arkansas shiner. The * stick is great, it really holds up. I learned about them from this site. I'm hoping the beginners luck lasts for a while. I dont want that skunk showing up again. This has been a heck of a ride guys...I really can not thank you enough. Thanks Glenn for keeping the site up. I could have never done it without y'all. Really.

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
I feel its a Florida Special that ate a 1lbr. No FishChris sow, but its enough for me. This pond actually gets fished alot. Everyone uses hard baits... I love my soft plastics.

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
Guys, sorry I have no weight. Its the only accessory the monkey hasn't made me buy yet. I feel compeled all of the sudden to purchase one, though! ;D At the moment I am still high about the catch. The weight I'd guess is 5~, but I'm biased. As you can imagine. She pulled the drag, man. Thats when I knew she was big. Unreal!!!!!!! Makes a fella want to get a TV show and a sponsor, don't it!

My New PB, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
Nov 11 partially cloudy, winds out of the SE @ 5-7. 12 noon @ my pond. Thanks again to all of you who taught me to bass fish over the net. Roadwarrior your "senko" thread is priceless. But I don't want to leave anyone out. I would have never, ever thought of throwing a blue stick bait before meeting up w/ y'all. Let alone a red hook, and green line. Ha!! Today my son said, "Daddy, you are the Bass Master!" Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not kidding about the Beer and BBQ w/ y'all if you ever come down to the real deep south. Alex

New guy braggin' a little
Thanks. The fight was different. A head shaker, I would say. I was surprised to find a peacock in this pond. Lucky me. I had only LMB till about a month ago. Its really a small one. Much smaller than my PB, a 3-4lbr I got from that pond.
